00:00Hey guys, it's Mi-Anne and this is Beauty With Me.
00:02The other day I was at Whole Foods just doing some light grocery shopping
00:05and I noticed that there are a ton of beauty products,
00:09like an entire hair care aisle, conditioners, a lot of makeup, skin care.
00:15So I thought it would be really interesting to try to challenge myself to only use products from Whole Foods
00:20for seven days.
00:22So that's everything from makeup to my skin care to my shampoo.
00:26Alright, so without further ado, let's go to Whole Foods.
00:46So I am back and I have two big ol' bags of Whole Foods stuff with me.
00:50I'm not gonna lie, it was much more expensive than I anticipated.
00:57$376.25.
00:58The lip balm was the cheapest item.
01:00And this one's only $2!
01:02The most expensive item was for $34.99 and that was the Dr. Hauschka Foundation.
01:08So everything else kind of fell in between.
01:10I definitely went ham and got a ton of stuff,
01:12but what was so cool about being in the Whole Foods was that there were so many brands I had
01:18never heard of before.
01:20So I'm gonna be using these items and these items alone for the next seven days.
01:24And I will check in with you at the end of the week and let you know how it all
01:29went.
01:29See you then. Bye!
01:30So it has been seven days since I ditched all my usual makeup, hair, and skin care in favor of
01:36all Whole Foods buys.
01:37And I've gotta say, I'm thoroughly impressed.
01:40So starting off with my morning skin care routine, I would cleanse and then use a toner.
01:47So this Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner in the coconut water formulation is new.
01:52I liked it. I thought it was a nice hydrating toner.
01:56But it's very scented. It actually has coconut added fragrance to this.
02:00I don't tend to love things that are very, very fragranced.
02:04But if you can get over the smell, it's a good toner.
02:07So after toning, I'll move on to my sunscreen step.
02:10And I chose this Babel Clear Zinc sunscreen because it has a bunch of really common moisturizing ingredients in it.
02:16So shea butter, sunflower seed oil, glycerin.
02:19I was thinking that I could use it as a daily moisturizer and in my SPF step.
02:24And I've gotta say, it did work. It was hydrating.
02:26It gave my skin a nice matte finish, which was great for applying makeup on top.
02:31Because this is a mineral sunscreen, it is loaded with zinc oxide.
02:35So it does have that pasty, almost white cast-y look to it when you rub it in.
02:40But it does go away if you rub it in enough.
02:43After sunscreen, I'll just follow up with a little bit of lip balm.
02:46This is the Whole Foods Organic Peppermint Lip Balm.
02:48Super cheap. Smells really good.
02:50So after my skincare is done, I'll move on to makeup.
02:53And I've been using this foundation by Dr. Hauschka.
02:56Pros, it basically, it feels like a tinted moisturizer.
02:58It's so lightweight, creamy.
03:01It blends really beautifully.
03:02It doesn't have a ton of coverage.
03:03I would say it's like sheer, buildable.
03:06It smells. It's just, it's so fragrant.
03:08It has a floral scent.
03:10If they made a fragrance-free version of this...
03:12After foundation, I move on to concealer.
03:14And I have the Well People Bio-Correct Concealer.
03:17I love this concealer.
03:19It is so beautiful. It's so lightweight.
03:22It does cover well. I would say it has medium coverage.
03:24You do have to shake it a bit before you use it.
03:26But it has the beautiful brightening effect.
03:28I will say though, with this concealer and the foundation, the shade range is like abysmal.
03:34Please come out with more shade.
03:35This concealer is so good and everyone should be able to experience it.
03:39Once my face has been evened out, I'll use some powder.
03:44And this is, again, another product from Well People.
03:46It's called the Bio Brightener Invisible Powder.
03:49So this is a very finely milled powder that has kind of a luminous quality on the skin.
03:54It is supposed to help make your face a little bit more long-wearing.
03:57I don't think that this powder has as much oil control as I would like.
04:03I have pretty oily skin.
04:04But if you have drier skin, I think you would love this.
04:07So for my blush and my bronzer and my highlighter and then my eyeshadow step, I actually used all the
04:12stuff from this palette.
04:14So this is the Pacifica Solar palette and it has pretty much everything you need.
04:18The bronzer is really nice.
04:19It has a very nice cool tone to it.
04:21So it doesn't look too muddy on the skin.
04:23It doesn't look too orange.
04:24It blends really nicely.
04:25The blush is nice.
04:26I think it's a little bit deep for my complexion, but I was able to make it work.
04:29Highlighters I wasn't a huge fan of.
04:31They are very natural looking.
04:34So they'll give you a nice sheen to the face, but I like a highlighter that's a little bit more
04:38substantial.
04:39Eyeshadows are really nice.
04:40They're really nicely pigmented.
04:41They're really easy to blend.
04:44My favorite shade was this blue one.
04:46So for the week, it was totally fine.
04:47I think that it would be amazing for travel, although it doesn't have a mirror.
04:51Next up is eyeliner and I had this liquid eyeliner by Zuzu Luxe in the shade Azure.
04:57And this was hands down my favorite makeup product that I used all week.
05:02It is such a beautiful eyeliner.
05:05Vegan, cruelty free.
05:06Has the most beautiful like opaque formula.
05:10Gorgeous bright blue color.
05:12And really, really long wearing.
05:15Would highly recommend.
05:16After eyeliner, I'll move on to mascara.
05:20Now I have two of these actually because I mistakenly picked up the non-waterproof version of the mineral fusion
05:25mascara.
05:26But I have the waterproof version here.
05:28And this mascara is really great if you're looking for a more natural look.
05:32You can definitely build up the volume.
05:35It's pretty waterproof.
05:36I got a little bit of smudging throughout the day.
05:37But it's great for sensitive eyes.
05:39And last but not least for the makeup was this lipstick.
05:43Now this is the Hemp Originals lipstick.
05:45Had never heard of that brand before.
05:47It was in the shade Red Shine.
05:49I don't know why it was called Red Shine because it is pink.
05:52It feels like a tinted lip balm.
05:54So it's very hydrating.
05:55It feels really nice.
05:56But it doesn't have a lot of color payoff.
05:58Being limited to one lipstick and also having it not be very pigmented was a little bit of a downer.
06:03Although the lipstick did feel really good.
06:05So that is all the makeup.
06:06I think the general consensus for the whole like makeup experience was that I actually really liked a lot of
06:11the products.
06:12I would just want like more of them.
06:14So then it comes to taking it off.
06:16Taking it off at night I was using the Mineral Fusion Makeup Removing Oil Cleanser.
06:21This stuff gets waterproof makeup off really well.
06:24It does melt away lipstick, foundation.
06:26It does sting a little bit.
06:28So keep your eyes closed.
06:30I always double cleanse after I cleanse with an oil just because I don't like to have that oily residue
06:34on my skin.
06:35Although you do not have to.
06:36But I use this Evan Healy Tea Tree Gel Cleanser.
06:39Probably my favorite skincare product that I used this week.
06:41It's a really good gel cleanser.
06:44It has tea tree oil in it so it's antibacterial.
06:46It doesn't strip the skin.
06:47It doesn't foam too much.
06:48It's very gentle.
06:49It smells good.
06:51It feels good.
06:52I love it.
06:53So once my makeup is thoroughly off my face I will hop in the shower.
06:57So I've been using two products from the Jon Masters Organics line.
07:00The Evening Primrose Shampoo and the Lavender Avocado Conditioner.
07:04I really liked both products.
07:05The shampoo itself I think could be a little bit more hydrating.
07:09But I love the conditioner.
07:11It made my hair feel really silky and smooth after.
07:14So when it comes to my nighttime skincare after the cleansing step.
07:17I'll go back to Tone with the same toner.
07:19And then I'll go in with a serum.
07:21Now I love exfoliating serums.
07:24And I just started using the Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum.
07:27It has alpha hydroxy acids in it.
07:29And it's really nice.
07:31It feels very light on the skin.
07:32It doesn't burn or sting.
07:34It doesn't smell weird.
07:35It does I think make my skin look brighter.
07:37And finally is the moisturizing step.
07:40I really love facial oils.
07:42I use them pretty much every single night.
07:43And this brand Trilogy is one of my favorites.
07:46It is a beautiful lightweight oil.
07:49It absorbs really fast.
07:51It doesn't feel like it's sitting on top of your skin.
07:53It doesn't feel like it's suffocating you.
07:55That was the whole routine for the week.
07:56If there's one thing I really took away from this experience.
07:59Is that there are a ton of really cool indie brands at Whole Foods.
08:03That are really accessible.
08:06Just because of the sheer ubiquity of the store.
08:08So that is the entire 7 days of Whole Foods beauty challenge done.
08:12And I will see you guys next week.
08:14Bye!
