00:00I actually get camera shy like with this type of expressing my opinion a little
00:04bit sometimes which is funny because I'm a professor. I identify as gender fluid
00:08as pansexual and as polyamorous. Gender fluid at least for me, my gender identity
00:15often changes. My identity is somewhere along the femme spectrum but I do at
00:24times become more masculine. It's not simple. Within being a gender fluid
00:28person I do have the liberty and the privilege of being able to pass as
00:34cisgendered. When I teach I do not talk about my gender expression I use she
00:40pronouns and I think nightlife for me maybe that's part of why I got into it
00:44because it that's something I need in my life to feel like me I guess. There are a
00:51lot of people within our community who they immediately get angry when they're
00:57misgendered. How many people would disagree with me I think that's a huge
01:00community problem that we're having. What it does is it instead of educating
01:03people it pushes them away and leaves them not caring to understand or just
01:09feeling attacked. It's better for us all to gain more allies not to push them
01:13away. When I was young I grew up in rural Maine. Honestly didn't even question
01:18sexuality. It wasn't until I got to college that I really knew that I was
01:23attracted to female bodies while I was in grad school. Classes about gender and
01:28gender identity and gender and history actually really opened my mind up about
01:32myself. It took many years for me to work through that and I'm glad I did.
