00:05Today we are going to be talking about this year's hottest hair trend, the lob or the long bob.
00:10And if you're anything like me and you're afraid of the commitment of actually cutting off your long hair,
00:14these are gonna be three great tricks for you to try to give yourself that faux bob.
00:18I'm here with my friend and the amazing hairstylist,
00:21Andrea, who's gonna show us three different ways to achieve this look.
00:24That's right, Hannah. We're gonna be doing the two ponytail trick on you,
00:27and then we have two more models coming in, and we're gonna do the tuck and pin and the under
00:31braid.
00:31Are you ready? Ready. Let's get started.
00:33So today for this trick, we're gonna be needing three things, bobby pins, hair ties, and texturizing spray.
00:39We're gonna add this to Hannah's hair, which is gonna cause a little bit of a waving,
00:42and it'll also give her some lift.
00:45So right now you could just see that the texturizer gave her a little bit of grit,
00:50and that's also gonna help with our tucking of the ponytails.
00:54So you wanna make sure your hair tie is going around the nape of the neck,
00:58because that's gonna give you that long bob.
01:04So taking your first pony, we're going to roll it up.
01:08And my little trick is, where the hair tie is, that's where you wanna stick your first pin.
01:12So it's gonna look a little funny as you're doing it,
01:15because we wanna just make sure that it's nice and secure.
01:17So one of the keys here is to kinda separate the hair a little bit to make it look a
01:22little piecey.
01:22I like hair to be a little bit more messy.
01:25So now you start to see, when you start pulling,
01:28you could give it more of that tousled and fun, choppy look,
01:32rather than it just being tucked under and having a simple bob.
01:35So now to add some volume to the front of Hannah's faux bob,
01:39I'm going to be using Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast.
01:43So we're gonna give this a nice little spritz in front here,
01:47which is gonna create that kind of old Hollywood glam volume in the front.

02:03So this is my beautiful model, Diana,
02:04and we're gonna be doing the tuck and pin trick on her on this big, full head of curls.
02:10Have you ever had a bob before?
02:12I actually haven't.
02:12Okay, well today we're gonna make it happen, and the great thing about Diana's hair is that
02:17because it's curly, it's gonna give that super realistic look on her.
02:20So today we're only gonna be needing bobby pins.
02:23What you want to do is just take and section out the front pieces of the hair,
02:26and then the back of the hair is gonna stay in the back.
02:29And in the hair's natural state, you're just gonna bunch it up and give it a pin.
02:32And what you want to do is just make sure some of the super long pieces we're gonna tuck,
02:36but then some of these short pieces that are laying on top of the tuck,
02:39we're gonna leave those out to make it look like it's really a real haircut.
02:43So just to secure the rest, we're gonna go on to Diana's heavier side,
02:47and we're just gonna stick some pins underneath right by her ear.
02:53Okay, so to finish off the look and make sure she's gonna stay nice and full and fluffy,
02:57we're gonna grab our Whey Texture Spray,
03:00and we're just gonna add a little bit right to the root in the crown area.
03:06Wow.
03:07Isn't it so cute?
03:08I love it. I've never had short hair.
03:10So I'm glad you love it. It was so much fun.
03:13So I'm here with my friend B, and we're gonna be doing style number three, the under braid.
03:16We're gonna be working mainly on the top area.
03:19We're gonna be giving it some waves, and then we're gonna do a braid underneath
03:22that we're gonna be able to tuck under.
03:24So to create some texture, I'm gonna be taking my flat iron,
03:27and just taking some random pieces and rocking it back and forth to create a wavy tousled look.
03:32It's creating this beautiful wave that's gonna be laying on top of B's braid in the back,
03:37which is gonna give you that faux bob.
03:39Okay, so now that we got B's hair texturized, we're gonna take a sectioning comb and just
03:43section out the whole top. And we're just gonna gently clip this up and get it out of our way.
03:48So now what we have left is the underneath, and this is the hair that we're gonna be braiding.
03:53Now the whole purpose of the braiding is to get the bulk of her hair out, and it also adds
03:58for
03:58a good grip for pins. And we're gonna take down that top layer. So what you wanna do is you
04:04wanna
04:04take that first section. You're gonna kind of tuck this way. You wanna make sure that you secure it,
04:11so you're actually gonna grip the hair and the braid together. And the braid is gonna be used as
04:16a guide. This tends to be the heaviest part of the hair, so it's great that we have the braid
04:20to
04:20kind of secure the pins in. So what you're gonna do is you're just gonna take your pin and just
04:24feel
04:24with your hands that the pin is going through the braid and the tucked hair. For our gals that have
04:29super thick hair, you're gonna kind of get this bulk a little bit. That could be manipulated with
04:33pins, but in my case, I think what I'm gonna do here is use flat iron. And we're gonna take
04:40the excess
04:40of this hair and we're gonna do the same thing. Okay, so for your final touches, we're just gonna kind
04:45of
04:45piece this out a little bit. And we're gonna give Bea a little bit of a spritz. So this is
04:51Amika
04:51Touchable Hairspray. You wanna make sure that when you're doing her spray, you're using something
04:56that's really light and it's gonna be able to give her some movement. But you also wanna make sure
05:00that you're spraying enough underneath that if any pieces do wanna straggle out, they have a little bit
05:05of trouble. Oh my goodness! So I feel like I'm from another era. I have never had my hair
05:15this short. And it looks beautiful and you didn't have to commit to it. I'm loving it. Time to go
