00:00I'm Lisey Fink and this is 5 Days of Halloween Costumes.
00:04Hey guys!
00:05Halloween is fast approaching, so this week I'm trying 5 DIY Halloween costume ideas that I found on Pinterest.
00:12None of the costumes that you're about to see in this episode were my original ideas.
00:16I just wanted to test out how easy or how hard DIY internet costumes really are.
00:23Today's costume was a DIY bag of jelly beans.
00:27Woo!
00:27I also brought along some special Halloween edition Jelly Belly candy to really get into the spirit.
00:33I wore all black as the base for this costume, but you can wear anything you want.
00:37Props needed for this costume.
00:39Balloons, scissors, a 13 gallon or bigger clear trash bag, a stapler, tape, and a printout of the Jelly Belly
00:47logo.
00:48First, I blew up the balloons.
00:55That was pretty good.
00:57Some flew away from me.
00:59Some balloons popped.
01:02But once I had enough balloons inflated, I cut small holes in the base of the garbage bag for my
01:07legs.
01:07And I intentionally made these slits really tiny so that once I put my legs in, my legs would stretch
01:13the trash bag and then it would be the perfect size hugging my thigh.
01:16I stepped into the bag and then I pulled it up over my shoulders.
01:20And we're in!
01:24No!
01:25And then I filled up the bag with balloons.
01:32Lastly, I cut out the Jelly Belly logo, stuck tape onto the back of it, and popped it right onto
01:37the belly of the bag.
01:40Now you're a bag of jelly beans.
01:42At the very end, some balloons were coming out of my arm holes.
01:45So that's when I took the stapler and I stapled the bag beneath my armpits to keep all the balloons
01:50in place.
01:51And just like that, I was a bag of jelly beans.
01:53Fast, easy, and fun.
01:55Would highly recommend.
02:00Today, I followed the directions for a DIY sheep costume.
02:04Props needed for this one.
02:05Cotton balls.
02:06I wound up using about 400 total cotton balls for this project, so make sure you have enough handy before
02:12you start.
02:12A mini sewing kit.
02:13A white dress.
02:14A white beanie.
02:15Black and pink felt.
02:17Fabric glue.
02:18And a hot glue gun with a ton of extra glue sticks.
02:21Perhaps most importantly, I have this stray piece of cardboard that I'm going to use under the dress so that
02:27I don't hot glue gun the two sides of the dress to one another.
02:30The first step is to hot glue gun the cotton balls all over the entire surface area of your dress.
02:35I'm talking the front, the back, the sides.
02:38Anywhere there's dress fabric, there's cotton balls.
02:42So much more to go.
02:43If you pull on the cotton balls a little bit to spread them out and make them puffier,
02:47they come out looking a little bit more fluffy on your dress.
02:50And then that way, each cotton ball takes up more space on the dress, which saves you a lot of
02:54time.
02:55PSA!
02:55Even though I made the cotton balls bigger, this process still took a very long time.
03:01Like over one hour to get the cotton balls onto the dress.
03:03So have patience and definitely do not try to make this costume on your way out the door.
03:08Next I did the hat and by this point I had developed a really nice time saving hot glue gun
03:13technique
03:13whereby you just draw a line of hot glue on the hat and then stick the cotton balls on it
03:18in a line.
03:18Very fast, very efficient.
03:26I cut out two sheep ears in black felt and then a little bit smaller versions in pink felt.
03:31And then using the fabric glue I layered the pink on the black.
03:34Then I was supposed to sew the ears onto the hat and I even had a mini sewing kit handy.
03:39But truthfully, sewing is not my specialty and the rest of this DIY project already took way longer than anticipated.
03:46So I decided to speed things along and just hot glue gun the ears onto the hat.
03:50At the end I filled in any missing gaps with some extra cotton balls and then I drew on a
03:55sheep nose.
03:56Using my liquid eyeliner I filled in my nose black.
03:59Then I drew a line from my nose down to my upper lip and added freckles.
04:04When it was done I had to pull off some dangly cotton balls from the bottom.
04:08But overall this dress looked really great and was so soft.
04:11This is a costume for all those people out there who like to be warm and cozy on Halloween nights.
04:19For my mid-week DIY costume idea I decided to ditch the internet and instead invite over
04:25one of my all-time favorite Instagrammers, Color Me Courtney.
04:29I listed out for her a few things that I love, I gave her a little bit of inspiration
04:33and then from that she pulled together an original DIY costume idea that really suits me.
04:39Take one guess of what I told Courtney that I love that she then turned into an original idea.
04:44Pizza!
04:46Duh!
04:46We had a pizza party.
04:47Oh my gosh you look just like pizza!
04:49You too!
04:50Thanks!
04:51Especially with the red, you've got the tomato sauce on you already.
04:53That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said.
04:55I'm a mozzarella slice!
04:56I'm a mozzarella.
04:57Well yes, exactly.
05:00Well, yeah.
05:00Instead of just making a normal pizza costume, we thought it would be more fun to give it
05:05like a fun party twist.
05:07So, we are going to start with these twinning yellow dresses.
05:12We cut out the different pizza toppings from felt.
05:14Here are our lovely pepperoni.
05:17We made some pink ones, some orange ones, cause that's way more fun.
05:21Then we hot glued them onto our dress and our party hats.
05:24Grabbed our ranch dressing clutch purses.
05:26Ranch cheers!
05:27Cheers!
05:28Thanks!
05:29And then we waited for our pizza to arrive.
05:31Where is the pizza?
05:32I don't even have a watch on.
05:35It's the end!
05:36Pizza!
05:40Hey!
05:45Yum!
05:46Our pizza has arrived.
05:48These costumes were so easy.
05:50They came out looking so good.
05:51And it's also the perfect excuse to carry around a pizza pie on Halloween night.
05:58For my fourth costume of the week, I became one of my favorite movie characters of all
06:03time.
06:03Darla from Finding Nemo.
06:05You know, the little girl in the dentist office that shakes Nemo in the bag and asks,
06:09Why are you sleeping?
06:11Wake up fishy!
06:13For this look, I started out in a white collared shirt and a yellow plaid skirt that I ordered
06:17on Amazon Prime.
06:18I have this purple long sleeve crew neck sweatshirt.
06:22So I've printed out the exact print that's on her shirt.
06:25This incredible set of fake braces.
06:28I've got this little fishy.
06:30And of course, we're gonna fill it up with water.
06:32And shake it!
06:34Two hair ties because I'm going with pigtails.
06:36High socks.
06:37Scissors.
06:38Tin foil, which I'm gonna roll up and use to make a head brace.
06:42Hot glue gun.
06:43I started by cutting the Rock and Roll Girl logo out and then mounting it onto a piece
06:47of really thin cardboard using the clear school glue.
06:50While I let that dry, I put my hair up in pigtails.
06:53Next, I cut out the print on top of the cardboard and then mounted that onto the sweatshirt using
06:57the hot glue gun.
06:58I rolled up the tin foil into two lines to make a headgear retainer type contraption that
07:04extended from behind my ears to my mouth.
07:07Then I put on the sweatshirt, pulled up the knee socks, popped my fake teeth in, and filled
07:13up the Nemo bag with water.
07:15You really have to get into character for this costume.
07:18And honestly, once all the pieces of the puzzle are there and you have the fake teeth in and
07:21the pigtails and the fish in the bag, it's really not that hard.
07:24Hello.
07:27Hello.
07:29Nice fishy.
07:33For my final costume of the week, I searched Pinterest until I found a costume idea that
07:37was very punny because I love puns.
07:40So today, I became a cereal killer.
07:45Get it?
07:46I killed cereal.
07:48Because this DIY can get a little bit messy and I was doing it on my bed, I started out
07:52by
07:52putting a white sheet underneath everything for protection.
07:55Off to the side, I had a bunch of empty cereal boxes, a denim jacket, a hot glue gun, scissors,
08:01this headband, and plastic knives.
08:04I glued each cereal box closed, poked a hole in each with a scissor, and then one by one glued
08:12them to the back of the jacket.
08:15Then once they dried, and this is the fun part, I rammed my plastic knives right into
08:20the boxes, killing the cereal.
08:25And then I introduced the fake blood.
08:29That doesn't smell good.
08:31I drizzled the fake blood all around, and then using a knife, I spread it.
08:35Truthfully, if I hadn't been sitting on my bed, I probably would have used more fake blood,
08:39and I might have gotten my hands into it and gotten a whole lot messier.
08:43At the end, I picked up a jug of milk and a real sharp knife.
08:48Do not try this at home, kids.
08:50Safety first!
08:51This was a fun costume that was very affordable, very easy to make, and it will definitely get
08:55a laugh from your friends when you tell them what you are.
08:58And those are five DIY Halloween costume ideas from Pinterest that I made my own this week.
09:03See you next time!
