00:01It has been a difficult transformation to look at myself.
00:06A lot of people say, oh you look so good I would never know.
00:10Some people, I can see why I would take offense to that because not all illnesses are seen,
00:16but for me it kind of gives me a relief that for right now you can't see my cancer
00:24and you're just seeing me for me and that makes me happy.
00:27Hi, I'm Jessie. I was diagnosed when I was 29 years old when my daughter was 8 months old.
00:35I was told I had a 97% cure rate and then about 3 months after radiation was complete,
00:41exactly one year from my original diagnosis I was diagnosed with stage 4 bone meds.
00:46I wasn't really told much about how early stage can progress to stage 4 or end stage breast cancer.
00:56I found cancer land through social media.
01:00I think it's important for me at least to be able to talk candidly about cancer and not have to
01:07sugar coat things.
01:09Hearing about different medications, different treatment options that have worked for women.
01:13It's much more inspiring and much more educational.
01:17A great day with my husband and my daughter.
01:22You almost forget for a minute that it's not all about cancer.
01:28It's not a secret in our household.
01:30I want her to know that there is not a cure.
01:35That mommy's not going to get better.
01:37I would define beauty from the inside.
01:40Kindness and love and happiness.
01:43I want people to know that metastatic breast cancer is the only type of breast cancer that you are fighting
01:51for your life.
01:51And if we don't start to open up our eyes and recognize that we need research, funding, fast track, FDA
02:00approval for medications and treatments,
02:03then nothing is going to get better.
02:06Because that's what's going to let me live with my family longer.
02:11And I plan on doing that.
02:13We'll see you tomorrow.
02:14See ya in between.
