00:00Did you play differently that game, knowing you were pregnant?
00:03I did. It wasn't very easy.
00:05You hear all these stories about people when they're pregnant, they get sick,
00:08they get really tired, and they get really stressed out.
00:11And I had to really take all that energy, put it in a paper bag, so to say,
00:16and throw it away because I really felt like I didn't have time to deal with
00:19any extra emotions, any extra anything, because pregnant or not, no one knew.
00:25And I was supposed to win that tournament, as I am.
00:27Every tournament that I show up, I am expected to win.
00:30And if I don't win, it's actually much bigger news.
00:33Peyton was actually in Wonder Woman.
00:34She was.
00:35We did some additional photography.
00:38Yeah, she was in my belly.
00:40How did they get around shooting that?
00:43That was really funny.
00:44They did everything in close-ups, and some of it was, you know, wide shots.
00:49And they cut this huge triangle, green kermit triangle.
00:54So you see me do whatever, I'm being super tough and everything, and then I go to check
00:58playback, and you see it starts, like, super close, and then it opens up.
01:03And then you see me super serious, but with a belly.
01:06Explain why this race was so important for you to run, even though you're eight months pregnant.
01:12For me, this race was really important for me to take part in.
01:14One, because I'd been at the USA National Championships since 2006.
01:19I hadn't missed one, and I wanted to start my family.
01:23But I thought that it was very, a different experience for me to be on the outside, the
01:28pregnant woman, and then recognizing how unlikely it was for people to see a pregnant woman running
01:35in general.
01:36And, you know, I wanted people to recognize that finishing pregnancy is actually a really
01:39good thing.
01:40And this is what it looks like being a professional woman in general, whether my profession happens
01:44to be a professional athlete, or if I were, you know, a businesswoman that had to, you
01:50know, go in the office and work a nine-to-five.
01:51You're the first member of Congress to give birth to not just two, but three babies while
01:58in the house.
01:59That's true.
02:00So when I was elected in 2004, and I was still single, and I was excited to be elected, but
02:08I wondered, hmm, am I going to be single for the rest of my life kind of a thing?
02:13How am I going to find someone while I'm serving in Congress?
02:15Yeah.
02:16And lo and behold, the most amazing thing did happen.
02:24Thank you so much for having us this evening.
02:27As many of you know, this time I come in very good company.
02:36It's his very, very first show.
02:39So I'll try to make it easy on him as much as I can.
02:43He knows I can't stop moving.
02:53When you're pregnant, it's a little bit harder to breathe.
02:59So it was hard doing all the choreography and singing at the same time.
03:04But I just got my strength from all the love from the fans.
03:07I thought with my husband, is it okay for you that I'm traveling and I'm competing in
03:14the Olympics while I'm eight months pregnant?
03:18Okay, mommy's going to shoot just a few hours.
03:22Please behave yourself.
03:24Please be calm.
03:26Support mommy.
03:27Help mommy to shoot.
