00:00Very my daughter is very proud we go to the park and then she goes to you know kids
00:05They try to make friends so they go to the parents and they go she goes my mom is Wonder
00:10Woman
00:11And then the parent would look at me strangely not recognizing me and I would go you know every mother
00:17is a Wonder Woman
00:25For me it's mind-blowing that this character has been around for 76 years and only now should we get
00:33the opportunity to tell her origin story
00:35She stands for justice and peace and wisdom
00:42I feel like with men at the helm it's always this kind of revenge cycle thing it's like someone an
00:46eye for an eye
00:47We're gonna go get the bad guys and the bad guys are defeated
00:49What I think is really lovely having a woman at the helm of something like this is just by virtue
00:54of her being a woman
00:55There's a great deal more compassion and love at the center of the story which
01:00For something as big as a film as this is going to be and with the kind of eyes that
01:04will watch it
01:05I think it's a wonderful a little bit that we can do to hopefully inch this universe towards something
01:10You know not as aggressive like this one moment where I'm standing in the tent and
01:15There's gal on one side and then there's and wolf the eight-time world champion of boxing
01:21She's teaching my little son how to box and I'm thinking my son is gonna grow up thinking that strong
01:29Amazing women are the best thing there is when we shot the first scene when all the women
01:35riding horses together I
01:38Was holding patty's shoulder watching the monitor and I told her I can't believe we're shooting this
01:43This is history. I've never seen anything like this
01:47Empowering really really empowering and we were strong. We didn't just feel strong. We were strong
01:54I want to make a great superhero film not a great woman superhero film
01:58Similarly, I want to be a great director not a great woman director, but at the moment the world is
02:04still
02:05Preoccupied with the fact that I'm a woman director. That's the struggle
02:09I'm very happy that my two daughters can grow up and go to the cinema and have a strong female
02:15figure to look up to
02:17I think we need more
