00:00Every time it rains in Victoria, we shouldn't see more potholes opening up on our roads
00:06because this Labor government has failed to maintain our roads for 12 years.
00:11Ben Carroll was the roads minister when he cut more than $200 million from the roads maintenance budget.
00:18And Victorians are paying the price every day.
00:21They're paying the price on unsafe roads.
00:23And they're paying the price through their wallet every time they go over a pothole, bust a tyre, bend a
00:29rim
00:29and have to go and replace a tyre and spend thousands of dollars.
00:34But we have a different plan.
00:36Our plan, the Liberals and Nationals, is to invest $5 billion in maintaining, rebuilding and repairing our roads
00:43to eliminate potholes right across this state.
00:47We don't have a plan to patch potholes so at the first drop of rain they come back again.
00:51We have a plan to do the preventative maintenance, to actually reseal and rebuild our roads
00:57so Victorians know that they will be safe when they drive on them.
