00:03in the lead up to kickoff here a little bit grove ahead and indeed the forecast is for
00:08a drop or two of rain as the day grows older but regardless of that there is a lovely backdrop
00:14here
00:14the ambience is good smashing noise from both sets of supporters and expectations high in both
00:24caps one glance and you know where we are it is one of the most recognizable arenas for the
00:30beautiful game in the world and boy does it add to the occasion well if you did just miss it
00:38we are up and running already who do you think this turns on Jim the one and only Mario Balotelli
00:47it all depends on on what mood he's in I know if we get the hard-working version who's willing
00:53to put a
00:54shift in for the team then we may get a few fireworks yes he'd be my pick too it's gonna
01:00be all about
01:01how they get the best out of him and it's played forward gets the better of his man Seifert
01:13Demonstrating fabulous determination he just will not be beaten
01:20Cagliarella
01:23defense has got rid of that
01:32Cagliarella
01:33has done very well to get to that
01:35Cagliarella simply didn't do anything wrong he was thwarted by brilliance
01:42away from immediate danger
01:44and it's Calicuri
01:50time to deliver
01:51gets up to Henic
01:53and they score
01:59that is a fine goal
02:02really efficiently done
02:03look it's it's often the timing of the jump that it takes what you can do with any header
02:08and if you get it slightly wrong
02:09then you'll struggle but that was beautifully met it really was
02:36Milan have an early lead good starts
02:42tries to get it forward quickly
02:46pinged forward
02:51facing up to last season's champions
02:53it is a tough ask of anyone let alone a new
02:56has a goal
02:58oh and they really should have been made to pay
03:08Milan making the ideal start it is something to build on
03:12what a good start to the game
03:13I think their play has been fast and inventive
03:16and this is a fine example of early intent
03:18they've begun as they mean to go on
03:20and another goal is on the cards
03:23and here's Cagliarella
03:25it's come through
03:27Cagliarella
03:30now to play for a goal kick
03:42and he's shown him a clean pair of heels
03:44it's Cagliarella
03:46it's Cagliarella
03:47it's Cagliarella
03:49all too easy
03:51they are in danger of disappearing out of sight
03:56and that really is so so impressive
04:22things starting to look very comfortable
04:25well unsurprisingly Peter
04:27the opposition look completely stunned
04:29I'm not sure they can gather themselves
04:33pressure disappointing in the end there
04:35they lack urgency
04:43he's gone away
04:45now it's Cagliarella
04:47Cagliarella
04:49and it's there
04:52and they're at it again
04:54in double quick time
05:00there was to be only one outcome
05:04yeah he just calmly faced the keeper and waited
05:07it became a hooplings first situation
05:10and for me there was never any doubt
05:12as to who was going to come out on top
05:16he snuffles his turn
05:17and that earns him the match ball
05:19this has been an immense contribution
05:21from one player
05:22he's been just about unplayable
05:24the irresistible force today
05:44Milan take a three goal lead
05:46and they are romping out of sight
05:48well they're very much the better team
05:50at the moment Peter
05:51and no doubt we'll be looking to
05:53to cause even more damage here
05:59Cagliarella
05:59goes for goal
06:02really well taken goal
06:05oh flags up
06:06so that won't count
06:09well obviously some sections of the crowd
06:11would disagree
06:11but that was the right decision
06:13albeit a late one
06:14a moment's uncertainty there
06:16but it is the right call
06:18Balotelli proving impossible
06:20to wrestle off the ball
06:29and here's Cagliarella
06:32and the assistant referee
06:34has his flag raised
06:35for offside
06:43keeper sends it forward
06:47hoisted forward
06:48massive leap
06:50he will be livid with himself
07:08just brushed off the ball there
07:10forward it goes
07:13Cagliarella
07:14and the weighted pass
07:16has a hit
07:32up for a header
07:35no he didn't quite meet it right
07:42they've seen lots of the ball
07:43time to go for it a bit
07:45a bit of creativity
07:46and adventure
07:50no question
07:50that's a foul
08:08well the balls come loose
08:10and the chase is on
08:12Brescia have a free kick
08:22he's gone for the shots
08:25great football
08:27shots
08:27and save
08:38shade too heavy
08:39people can pick that up
08:46and it's Balotelli
08:49great strength
08:50too strong for his opponent
08:51whistle's gone
08:52that's a foul
09:12that always looks inevitable
09:14the defence dealt with that really well
09:20loses his balance
09:21and loses the ball
09:23pretty robust
09:24but it's got the job done
09:40tries to get it forward quickly
09:46Calicuri
09:47hits one
09:49oh what a hit
09:52what a hit
09:53he's got himself
09:55a pinch of a goal
09:59over the hills
10:00and far away
10:02no catching them now
10:06absolutely thundering
10:07keeper
10:08no chance
10:09the contact was fantastic
10:11right on the boot laces
10:12and it packed a lot of venom
10:13for what was a really potent strike
10:33it's become a case
10:34of men against boys
10:40gets his foot in there
10:42well that looks a foul
10:43yep
10:44referee's giving it
10:56now it's Balotelli
10:59Balotelli
11:00really got caught
11:01in a trap there
11:02and he just couldn't get out
11:03he's won him
11:05it's Quagliarella
11:07well he caught that
11:09pure
11:09but no end product
11:11yeah
11:12on another occasion
11:13all that went wrong
11:14may come right
11:17Balotelli
11:20and it's Quagliarella
11:23he's left his back
11:25and the shots
11:26oh he really got hold of that
11:29if he sacrifices some power
11:31he may control the elevation
11:38hoist it forward
11:41promising move that
11:43good inroads into enemy territory
11:44but no joy
11:48he's looked long this time
12:03he's looked long this time
12:04that's a foul
12:05simple decision for the referee
12:24and that is put paid to that
12:27now it's Quagliarella
12:35he gets past his man
12:37he gets past his man
12:37Trau calling for him to shoot
12:39real chance
12:41no mistake
12:45and still they continue with the onslaught
12:48well I think we've gone past humiliation
12:51now this could be doing some real psychological damage
12:56four in the game
12:58he is the man
13:16Milan
13:17that will be the final action of the first half
13:20well that flew by
13:22it was breathless stuff
13:24it's been one way traffic here
13:26after the first 45 minutes
13:28a relentless barrage
13:30that looks set to continue
13:32Milan have been
13:34more or less perfect
13:35I would say
13:36their managers all smiles
13:37and he's got every reason to be
13:40Milan utterly dominant
13:42in the first 45 minutes
13:44scoring at will
13:46already up and running
13:47going for the second half
13:51gets away from
13:52and the finish
13:55oh almost a sit
13:57well he did get himself
13:58into a good position
14:00something for him to think to
14:02and it's played forward
14:05going through
14:05can't get the better of his opposite number
14:09forward it goes
14:16oh real
14:21terrific save
14:22well that's why we all say
14:24indecision is fatal
14:27there is some activity
14:28down on the touchline
14:29it seems there's got to be a change
14:33cleared away
14:36it's a good run down the left hand side
14:38well played
14:40he saw that coming
14:43and here's Cagliarella
14:46plenty of appeals
14:47but the referee
14:48is not interested
14:50Cagliarella
14:51has alert to the possibilities
14:53but in the end
14:54it's fruitless
14:58Calicul
14:58tries to get it forward quickly
15:01plays it out to the flank
15:04defending was strong and firm
15:06Rice drives it forward
15:12hoists it forward
15:15that intervention was very necessary
15:18as Serbi floats one over
15:24Rice
15:27Brescia
15:28keeping their men at arm's length here
15:30I just think it's a conservative move
15:32to deny runners the opportunity
15:34of going beyond that rear guard
15:39Milan making a fresh attempt
15:41to release someone in behind
15:42from back to front
15:44and this is something different
15:48great lead
15:50decent chance
15:51that is a fine delivery
15:52so I really need to tell you Peter
15:55that he has to do better
15:56especially from there
16:07Romulo
16:08battles to win it back
16:12Cagliarella
16:13shoots
16:18just another one to add
16:20to what has already been
16:21an incredible haul
16:24by the looks of it
16:26there may be still more to come
16:29how many more does he want
16:52both sides then taking this chance
16:54to turn to their benches
17:07good challenge
17:08he just stood firm
17:09gets away from his opponent
17:12turns and goes back
17:17Rice
17:20looking at the referee
17:21but he's wave play on
17:22tries to locate someone up front
17:26Cagliarella
17:27he's effectively being locked
17:28out of the game here
17:29well better late than never
17:31Peter
17:31although it may not apply
17:33in this case
17:34after a hat-trick
17:37going for goal
17:47gets his head to it
18:01rice
18:01rice
18:04he's had a short
18:07oh there was plenty on that
18:09well it was hit with great power
18:11Peter but sadly not great precision
18:18as Serbi gets it back
18:24very well to intervene
18:30and here's Balotelli
18:34and it's played forward
18:38now it's Cagliarella
18:43it's good distance on it
18:45Milan
18:46get it back again
18:50now it's Cagliarella
18:51he's gone for it
18:53it's a goal
18:57and again
18:58they tile on the misery
19:00well I wasn't expecting them to go this big Peter
19:03but they have been superb
19:24we have got changes here
19:26from both sides in fact
19:28yeah their position is a dominant one now Peter
19:31so introducing one of the youngsters
19:33for some added experiences
19:35bang on
19:36well it's been a
19:37an absolutely fabulous spell for them
19:39and they're starting to look unstoppable
19:41there could be more on the way
19:46great run on the overlap here
19:52Romulo
19:52just brushed off the ball there
19:57great strength
19:59too strong for his opponent
20:03he's got away
20:05decent progress down the left
20:08and it's Caliguri
20:17he's had that
20:18choice of shots
20:19he scores
20:24a contest no more
20:26there is nothing short of utter humiliation
20:33listen
20:34when you're on an invitation to improve your goal difference
20:37it weighs off
21:05well unsurprisingly
21:08Peter
21:08the opposition look
21:09completely stunned
21:10I'm not sure they can gather themselves
21:12oh no that's not the ball he wants
21:19he's off on a marauding run
21:21hits one
21:23well that's just why
21:24I think he still deserves full marks
21:26for making his way through
21:28it was a
21:29it was a cracking run
21:33Balotelli
21:37good challenge
21:38he just stood firm
21:42now it's Kogliarella
21:43he's got through
21:52how many interceptions have we seen now
21:54someone's got to up the chance
21:58he's put it wide
21:59well I think the little eagle has just got the better of me
22:03he may have been thinking about bad-paced headlines there
22:07and it's Balotelli
22:15now it's Kogliarella
22:17and he's away
22:18and he's away
22:19that holds to win it back
22:21Kogliarella
22:22with a really impressive run
22:24which nearly went the whole way
22:26well he was thinking about headlines
22:28I'm sure
22:29but he ought to focus more on
22:30on breaking lines
22:38Kogliarella
22:44well I'm not quite sure
22:46he needed to hold up play
22:47quite as much as he did then
22:49a couple of his teammates were
22:51very annoyed
22:58now it's Kogliarella
23:00it's Kogliarella
23:03oh impressive strike
23:12board shows there will be
23:14three extra minutes
23:25voice it forward
23:27now it's Balotelli
23:34well positioned to make that interception
23:37and the referee brings it to a close
23:44Milan
23:45is of a no contest
23:47he's on the edge
23:47can Theory
