00:00J.J. McCarthy, man, hats off to walk in there at NRG Stadium, go 20 for 28,
00:06get the ball, spread the football out to guys, and to come out with a W.
00:11That's huge.
00:12This kid looks like he don't want to give up that QB1 title until he's forced to.
00:16Look, there's no way I thought that was going to be the first start.
00:19You know what I mean?
00:20Kudos to McCarthy, who came in 23 years old.
00:24We heard all about maturity issues, winning the locker room, all this stuff.
00:28A little skeptical, like, okay, I heard some things from Minnesota, let's see.
00:32Not one designed run for him.
00:35This was no gadget, this was no gimmick.
00:37This was a guy, go play quarterback.
00:40He obviously went to work, he obviously studied very hard,
00:43and what I wrote in my column, you know, that day, you know, on Sunday,
00:47was he gave Giants, anyone who cares about the Giants,
00:51he gave you permission to hope again.
