House prosecutor Atty. Terry Ridon said Monday, October 26, that Vice President Sara Duterte’s defense team should be given less time to present evidence in her impeachment trial, following the withdrawal of three of the four original articles.

The Senate impeachment court initially allotted the defense 30 trial days to present its evidence. With only Article II, which concerns Duterte’s alleged unexplained wealth, remaining, Ridon said the court should consider shortening the period, leaving the decision to the senator-judges.
