The Senate impeachment court is increasingly confident it can conclude Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial and issue a final verdict by Dec. 16, according to court spokesperson Atty. Reggie Tongol.

Tongol said the updated timeline reflects the prosecution’s faster-than-expected presentation of its case and the possibility that both sides may drop some witnesses. The trial was initially projected to run until February or early March.(Video courtesy of Senate of the Philippines)
