Personal space simply does not exist when you’re Olive. Olive isn’t interested in giving her mom Heather an inch of personal space, whether she’s cuddling into her clothes or following her everywhere she goes. Heather shares what life is like with her tiny green shadow, while Dodo editor Brielle shows us just how clingy one little bird can be.

00:00I actually would compare her to a dog if she could spend all day cuddling she would. She's so
00:06codependent. I had no idea that birds could be just as clingy as puppies. If I move to the kitchen
00:14she's following me to the kitchen she's literally glued to me. We are fully together 24-7. If she
00:21can't see me she's screaming. She's a diva. But at the beginning Olive took some time to
00:29come out of her shell. When I first got her she was frozen solid for like two hours.
00:36And I kept her out of the cage because I wanted her to adjust to being out.
00:44After like a month she let me pet her which is a huge step for us. And then after that
00:50she just wanted to be pet 24-7. I knew birds could be affectionate but this cuddly and
00:56clingy. If I'm not awake by eight o'clock on the dot she starts screaming until I come
01:03let her out. And I let her out and I call it her witching hour. She just kind of goes
01:07crazy
01:07for an hour in the morning. Chirping, flying everywhere. It sounds crazy but I think we
01:14kind of understand each other. Like I can read her body language. I can anticipate her feelings
01:19and what she's gonna do and she kind of runs her own show. She's fully a functioning
01:26member of the household. Seeing how obsessed Olive is with her mom might be one of the cutest
01:31things I've ever seen. It's so crazy because we're only a year in and she could meet my children
01:37one day you know. We're so bonded.
