00:18more time as we come to you with song and with prayer and to just lift up the name of

00:26love you and we are glad that you tuned in with us here today we know that there are so

00:31places that you could have gone but we just thank you for tuning in with us here at gethsemane gardens
00:37my name is minister javon marshall and i have a quick service announcement so we are going to be
00:42opening the doors of the church next sunday easter sunday so i hope that i'm able to see each and
00:49every one of you so if you're in the kankakee area i would just ask that you will come and

01:01come and spend a day of worship with us so without further ado i'm going to go ahead and get
01:08into
01:08our word for today and i pray that something may be said that might just help strengthen your walk
01:15that might encourage you and that might help you know a little bit more today on who jesus is and
01:22also who you are um so before we get into our word we're going to go ahead and open up
01:29with a
01:29short prayer and then i'll get right into the scripture dear heavenly father i thank you lord god for
01:38being god and being god all by yourself i thank you father god for this opportunity to
01:46preach your word to your people i pray that you will sit me down lord god and that you will
01:51speak
01:52to me and speak through me i pray that something is said today that will just encourage the people
01:58that will help them have a closer walk with you and that someone may come running to you asking what
02:03must i do to be saved we love you lord and we thank you and i ask all these things
02:10in jesus christ's
02:11mighty mighty name amen so today's message is going to be coming from the book of romans one of my
02:20favorite books we'll be coming out of the book of romans and we'll be reading chapter one and our
02:27primary verses are going to be verses 19 and 20 but just to give us a little bit more context
02:32i'm going
02:33to actually start reading at verse number 16 so i'm going to read romans chapter 1 verses 16 through
02:40verse 20 and it reads like this for i am not ashamed of the gospel of christ for it is
02:50the power of god to
02:52salvation for everyone who believes for the jew first and also for the greek for in and for in it
03:01excuse me the righteousness of god is revealed from faith to faith as it is written the just shall live
03:08by faith for the wrath of god is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and and unrighteousness
03:16of men who suppress the truth and unrighteousness verse 19 because what may be known of god is
03:24manifest in them for god has shown it to them for since the creation of the world his invisible attributes
03:32are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made even his eternal power and godhead so that
03:41they are without excuse for a topic today i'd like to use the topic here i go here i go

03:56looked for something that was right in front of your face but for whatever reason you just could not find
04:01it if you have go ahead and raise your hand or you can just type me in the chat and

04:10embarrassed or not like that because i'll be i'll be straight up with you guys i am the worst at

04:16like i will tear up the house looking for something and my baby will be like what you're looking for

04:23looking for the car keys and she'll say well how about you just use the ones you got in your
04:27hand
04:27right now until you find what you're looking for because honestly i am the worst at that and or
04:34sometimes she'll say if it was a snake it would have bit you because it was right in your face
04:37because for
04:38some reason i can be looking right past whatever it is i'm searching for focused on everything else
04:46that's around so back in 1995 there was a popular rapper his name was mystical and he had a song
04:58called
04:58here i go and that's how he said it too he's like the james brown of our generation
05:05so the name of the song was called here i go and in that song mystical was putting those who
05:14opposed him on notice so basically what he was saying was that you know you guys are acting like
05:20i'm hard to find you're going around telling everyone that you're looking for me well here i go
05:27i'm right here i'm always in the same spot and then one of the lines of the song says somebody
05:33said
05:33that you was looking for me well here i go the man right here and when i look at this
05:41passage
05:43in romans and verses 19 and 20 it seems like that's exactly what god is saying to us here i
05:51go you want
05:52to act like you're looking for me well here i go god and his evidence is all around us his
06:02existence is
06:02so evident and everything that's around us people really don't have any excuse to not recognize him
06:09so i say that if people choose to not recognize him it's because they are willfully trying to neglect
06:16his power and they are willfully trying to neglect his deity because if you look around at nature
06:25if you look at the trees and you hear the birds singing and you look into the sky and all
06:30of the
06:31billions of stars and you go into the ocean and you look at all the animals it's obvious that god
06:37is
06:37saying here i go the man is right here here i go joe 37 and 14 says this it says
06:48listen to this joe
06:49stop and consider god's wonders do you know how god controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash do
06:58you know how the clouds hang poised those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge do we understand that
07:06no we don't but we do recognize that there has to be something or someone behind the scenes
07:14keeping everything in order that's god we see the hand of god when we look at nature and we also
07:22see
07:22the hand of god when we look at ourselves in the mirror god is everywhere so i don't care what
07:29your
07:29little brother or sister may say saying that you are an accident you are not an accident you were created
07:36on purpose in verse 19 it says that the evidence of god is in us the evidence of god is
07:46in us so if
07:47we look at ourselves and we see our fingers and toes and how they're able to pick up things and
07:53and we
07:53realize how when our body gets cold our body temperature rises and we start to get goosebumps which
07:59is like another layer of skin to help keep us warm and then when our body gets too hot it
08:05produces
08:05moisture and water through sweat to kind of help us cool down that is because we were meticulously
08:13made we were perfectly made even things down to the nose hairs that we have are not by chance they
08:22have
08:22a purpose and that purpose is to keep dust out of our nostrils god took his time creating us we
08:32were made
08:32on purpose we are not just some sort of a cosmic coincidence we are purposefully made our brains
08:43and the ability that we have to create we're building spaceships and drones and hovercrafts and skyscrapers
08:52we're making beautiful music and great art that's because that creativity was breathed into us
09:00from god the master creator he was intentional when he made us we are not an accident we are not
09:09a cosmic
09:10coincidence god used his hands to mold us and to shape us into what he wanted us to be and
09:18it doesn't
09:19matter if we have aches and pains it doesn't matter if we're a little bit overweight it doesn't matter if
09:26we
09:26have you know some sicknesses and things like that going on when we were created god created a masterpiece
09:33the bible lets us know that we are god's masterpiece which means that we are precious we are like gems
09:40but
09:40my favorite definition is that we are a piece of the master you are not an accident you are not
09:50a cosmic
09:51coincidence but you are a peace hallelujah of the master and god even went as far as to blow his
10:00breath
10:01into us he gave us life through his life and when he blew his breath into us it says that
10:08we were made in
10:09his image so that means that we were given a will we have a mind that we can use we
10:15have desires and we
10:17also know right from wrong and i don't care how you say you know
10:27moralism is subjective people know right and wrong even babies know right and wrong an example
10:34a couple of days ago i walk in on my baby girl oriah in my change drawer next to my
10:41bed and when i
10:42come through the door i say all right what you doing she puts her hands behind my back i'm behind
10:46her
10:46back nothing i don't know i'm not doing nothing daddy all right what you have in your hands um i
10:55don't know
10:56she felt guilty because she knew that she was doing something that she had no business doing
11:04and that's exactly how we are sometimes but we need to realize that in it all
11:11god still loves us and god still created us not only on purpose but he created us with a purpose
11:20he
11:21created us for a purpose genesis 1 28 says and god blessed them and god said unto them be fruitful
11:30and
11:31multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over all the fish of the sea and over
11:39the
11:40fowl of the air and over every living thing that moved upon the earth one of our purposes was given
11:49to
11:49us all the way back in the beginning and that was to take care of god's creation to take care
11:57of god's
11:58creation he told us to subdue it that means that we are to have government rule over it we're the
12:05leaders of
12:06the earth and being that we have dominion over his creation that also means that we have a responsibility
12:13to his creation to take care of it think about this think about your role as a parent you have
12:20authority over your children but that authority doesn't stop at just telling them what to do and
12:27making sure they behave and making sure that they're good and that they get good grades and all these other
12:32things part of your responsibility is to also provide for them to make sure they have the things
12:38that they need to take care of them to heal their wounds that is your role as a parent some
12:46of us may
12:46not have kids but we may be a big brother or big sister well we already know when you're the
12:50big brother
12:50you're the big sister you are the one in charge right and not only are you the one in charge
12:56you're the
12:56one who are going to take the burden of responsibility on your shoulders if mama and daddy come home and
13:02baby sister did something or got hurt or broke something who do you want to get in trouble big sister
13:08big
13:08brother why because you were the one left in charge so since god gave us this charge we have to
13:19handle it to handle it with care and we also have to be diligent at it another one of his
13:25commandments
13:25was to be fruitful and multiply now i know that mary phil is like yeah baby yeah you don't want
13:32to
13:32disobey god baby he said to be fruitful and to multiply get on over here girl yeah come here
13:40and it doesn't matter how old you are you may feel like god has a child of promise waiting on
13:46you like
13:46like abraham did but i just want to let you guys know that our responsibility to be fruitful and
13:53multiply is not just a physical one i mean we ain't got no problem with that the world has over
13:59seven
14:00billion with the b seven billion people on it seven billion people and the numbers are increasing on a daily
14:11basis but out of that seven billion people less than 30 percent actually proclaimed to be a christian
14:21and of that 30 percent how many of those are actually really truly following god
14:28so that means that it's about 2.8 percent of people that actually i'm sorry 2.8 out of 10
14:37people
14:38that actually follow christ or let's just say two and a half and i don't know about you but i'm
14:47in the
14:47chicago area right and if we have a field goal kicker which we have had in years past that is
14:55only going
14:55to be able to make two and a half field goals out of every 10 attempts guess what happens to
15:00that guy he
15:01gets fired why because he is not doing a good job let's think about it in basketball tournaments
15:08if you're on the court and you're going up and down the court and you shoot the ball 10 times
15:13without those 10 shots you only make the two shots somebody's gonna be sitting on the bench
15:18or if you are a field if you're shooting free throws and you only make two and a half out
15:25of every
15:2510 attempts guess what's going to happen the hackershack principle meaning that the team is going to
15:33intentionally foul you why because they know that you do not have the ability to produce at the free
15:41throw line so they're going to file you on purpose well say something to tell y'all today that that
15:47is
15:47exactly what the enemy is doing to us he's belligerent he's throwing flagrant fouls our way why because
15:55we are not producing the way we should we are not standing up in situations where we need to stand
16:03up and what's going on is the enemy is recruiting more people than god's people are we are not producing
16:11the way we should so we are not following one of the first rules that god gave us which is
16:16to be
16:18fruitful and multiply and what i mean by that is to share the love of god with people
16:26to show them how good god is to point them to christ yes we know that we can't save people
16:33but we can
16:34definitely point them to the savior and that's what our goal should be when we don't stand up when we
16:41need to we're not doing our job adequately so can we stand will we stand well in order to stand
16:51it takes
16:52courage and that's why paul said in verse 16 i believe he said i'm not ashamed i'm not ashamed of
17:01the gospel of jesus christ because if we're ashamed guess what we're not going to open up our mouths so
17:06we
17:07cannot be ashamed of the gospel what is the gospel minister i'm glad you asked let me tell you the
17:13gospel is the good news of jesus christ death burial and resurrection
17:22his death burial and resurrection was good news it is good news because being that he died and he
17:30shed his blood on the cross and he was raised again on the third day i have the right to
17:34salvation as well
17:35as you do so that is good news and it says that it's the power until salvation now that word
17:45power
17:46in the greek is dynamis which means something that's miraculous or something that is marvelous
17:54what has god done for you supernaturally
17:59what ways has god showed his miraculous power in your life because those are the things that we
18:07need to be broadcasting out to the world those are the things that are going to help us to be
18:13fruitful
18:13and multiply so when the doctor said that they didn't know how you were going to get over your cancer
18:18or
18:19they didn't know how you're going to get over your diabetes or whatever the case may be and god heals
18:23you that is something that you need to broadcast to the world when you are able to get over your
18:31bitterness and anger those are things that you need to be able to broadcast to the world when you were
18:38delivered from alcohol and drug abuse those are things that you need to be able to broadcast to the
18:46world these are the things that the world needs to know about so therefore we can point them to our
18:52savior
18:54again we can't save people but we can definitely point them to the one who is able to save hallelujah
19:02and that one who is able to save is none other than jesus christ you can let them know that
19:08the devil
19:09is a liar because some of us have been going through things right and you know the world wants us
19:15to
19:15believe that yeah you was hooked on drugs or whatever the case may be so you ain't never going
19:19to be delivered the devil is a liar the death the devil wants you to believe that you know the
19:25world
19:25tells you all the time that your granddaddy wasn't no good your daddy wasn't no good so you ain't gonna
19:30be
19:30no good well the devil is a liar and the reason he wants to lie to you about that is
19:37because he wants to
19:38switch up your image on you he doesn't want you to really recognize that you are made in the image
19:44of god he wants to change the picture that you have of yourself and he's been doing it ever since
19:50the
19:50beginning but i want to let you guys know something that protecting god's image is protecting your own image
19:59protecting god's image is protecting your own image and if we allow the enemy to blind us to who god
20:06is
20:07it causing us to question who we are attacking our image is what some is something satan's been
20:15doing ever since the garden of me that's what he did to eve he saw eve at the tree hey
20:23what you doing
20:24oh i'm just sitting here looking at the tree well how come you ain't eating of it oh god said
20:30we
20:30shouldn't eat on it because if we eat some of that fruit you know we're gonna surely die come on
20:35now you
20:35ain't gonna die the reason god doesn't want you to eat from this tree is because he knows that when
20:41you eat from it you're gonna be a god like him so go ahead here take a bite he attacked
20:46her image
20:48made her feel like she wasn't good enough that she had to be up there with god
20:54he attacked her image but the bible tells us tells us that not only was eve good and adam as
21:02well but that
21:03they were very good same thing with us but the enemy attacks our image all the time and if he
21:10can give us
21:11a clouded depiction of who we are it's going to give us a clouded depiction of who god is
21:17almost as if god makes junk i've even heard people say you know i feel like god made me
21:26a woman inside of a man's body because everything else in my life was going so good i had to
21:32have this one fault
21:36god does not make mistakes we make choices we make choices because we want to turn a blind eye and
21:49a deaf
21:49ear to who god is but we cannot allow the enemy to fool us we were made on purpose and
22:00we were made
22:01for a purpose and believing that we have no purpose and that we're just existing
22:08is handing over the power that god gave us directly to the devil
22:13and the more power we give him the less we recognize ourselves as the masterpieces that we are
22:21and if you don't know yourself that means you're going to act in your own kind of way
22:25why because you don't feel like your life has a purpose and if your life doesn't have a purpose you
22:30know what i might as well go out there and create one of my own and most times that purpose
22:36that you create
22:37is not going to be lined up with god's will and being that like i said earlier when he breathed
22:44into
22:45us he gave us a will being that we have free will sometimes our free will is actually our punishment
22:54and verse 18 it talked about how god allowed his wrath to pour out well that wrath was just giving
23:01us over to
23:01our nation why because the wages of sin is death so if we willfully choose to not obey and to
23:13not
23:13follow god we are putting ourselves in harm's way think about it like this how many times have you
23:22disobeyed your parents and it ends up being detrimental y'all because because y'all know y'all know
23:28your mama said don't mess with that little happy headed boy but what you do you went ahead and you
23:33messed with him anyway put yourself in the whole world full of hurt and they told you you know what
23:40son i don't believe that girl is the one for you i think you need to leave her alone you
23:45shouldn't mess
23:45with her i recognize that type but no i love her though you just don't understand daddy i love
23:54son find ourselves in the world of hurt oh you ain't dating yet that's cool i got one for you
24:01too
24:02what about the time when your mama told you not to spend all your money in one place don't spend
24:09all
24:09your money in one place and you went to the candy stove and spent every last single penny that you
24:15had
24:17a couple hours later you find yourself at walmart with your mom or your dad and you see a toy
24:22that
24:23you like that you could have bought with your own money but you spent it all at the candy lady
24:28house
24:29and now you're trying to barter with your mom and dad like okay well if you just buy me this
24:33toy
24:34i promise i'll pay you back i promise i'll pay you back but the thing is this one they told
24:40you not to
24:41spend all of your money in one place you did two every penny that you have was given to you
24:49from
24:50them so there's no way you can pay them back because everything you have you have it because of them
24:55what does that remind you of
24:59doesn't that remind you of our relationship with god ain't that how we do god sometimes like lord i know
25:06i should not have stole that stuff out of the store i know i shouldn't have did it but god
25:11if you would
25:12just please please i got i got arrested i got a court date if you would just please let this
25:17situation
25:17work out in my favor i promise i'll give you i'll give you me i'll i'll i'll worship you for
25:23the rest of
25:23my life lie
25:27everything we have he gave us anyway so it ain't nothing that we can give him that's not already his
25:35place but we need to realize that sometimes god will let us go to our own will because sometimes
25:48we don't learn things until we start bumping our heads a few times but in us it's pleasurable so we
25:54find pleasure in our punishment but it's not for our good it's for our detriment have you guys ever heard
26:01stories about how you know a parent might catch their child smoking cigarettes so they go buy a
26:08whole carton of cigarettes and make them chain and smoke them back to back to try to teach them a
26:11lesson
26:13or okay i got one my daughter the baby girl uh there's a lot about her because she does a
26:20lot
26:21so one day we're in the bed she's playing with some bubbles i have the bubble bottle in my hand
26:28and
26:28stick and she keeps trying to fight me and try to get them for herself and i tell her baby
26:33girl no you
26:34can't have these bubbles because you're gonna spill them all over the bed no daddy i want the bubbles i
26:39want the bubbles all right you cannot have these bubbles because you're going to spill them all over
26:43the bed so she keeps going this goes on for like five minutes so finally you know what i give
26:50in
26:50like okay here learn for yourself i give her the bubbles not 30 seconds later does she spill the
26:58bubbles on the bed not even 30 seconds she looks at the spilled bubbles on the bed looks up at
27:06me and
27:06just starts bawling because she remembered that i told her no if you do this you're going to spill them
27:16because you're jumping around and bouncing around so this is not a good idea but she was adamant that
27:22she wanted those bubbles and that's how we are with god we're adamant that we want to go live life
27:28our
27:28way we're adamant that we want to go turn up we want to get junk we want to have sex
27:33for whoever okay
27:36but it's to our detriment
27:39we start to worship the things that god created instead of worshiping the actual creator
27:49we shouldn't turn our back on god
27:54but even when i even when we do god's still in everything that we see like here i go
28:02here i go and verse 20 it says for the invisible things of him from the creation of the world
28:09are
28:10clearly seen that means that someone has to be behind the scenes orchestrating these things
28:14and our hearts our minds our souls have a connection with these things in nature that our eyes just can't
28:22comprehend that's why you see in all these other you know countries and third world countries and places
28:29before jesus before jesus was introduced to them how they would worship the sun how they would
28:33worship the rain and how they will worship the wind and how they will worship the oceans because
28:39these things are so great and majestic it seems as if they are the ones to be worshipped
28:46but god is the one pulling all the strings god is the one in control of nature he's the one
28:56in control of everything that we see it says that everything that we see was made by god and for
29:05god
29:06everything so that means the beauty of nature that's the rivers the lakes the oceans has anybody ever been
29:12out on the ocean like on a cruise or on a boat or even a big lake a big lake
29:18at night time how you can
29:20look out and see nothing but water as far as you can see and then you look up and see
29:25the trillions of
29:26stars that are in the sky it just lets you know just how mighty god's hand is and how creative
29:33he is
29:36how his hand is in everything it should leave us in awe when we look out into nature the solar
29:44system
29:45there's billions of stars out there where the bible lets us know that not only did he place them there
29:52but that he named them not only did he name them but that they worship him
30:03why because he's the creator
30:07he is the one that needs to be worshipped every time we go outside and look up into the stars
30:15it's like god saying here i go i know you don't necessarily want to see me for who i am
30:21but here i go
30:23here i go the glory of god is everywhere that we look the bible tells us in psalm 95 and
30:304
30:31in his hand are the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to him the sea is his
30:37for he
30:38made it and his hands formed the dry land john 1 and 3 i quoted this earlier through him all
30:45things
30:46were made without him nothing was made that has been made that means that all things the heavens the
30:53earth everything in it including q and i were made by god nature and the animals recognize this how come
31:07it's so hard for man to if the animals can recognize that god is yahweh he's the lord of lords
31:15how come man can't
31:18i would have to say it's because we choose not to this is what the word says in the second
31:26part of
31:26verse 20 it says being understood by the things that are made that's proof right there that the animals
31:35nature recognizes that god has his hands in things psalms 19 and 1 says the heavens declare the glory of
31:45god
31:46that means the stars and the sky the wind all the things we see above us they declare the glory
31:52of god
31:53the skies proclaim the work of his hands and joe had to explain to his friends they were trying to
31:59tell
31:59him you know god is the reason you're going through this he like you think i don't know that god
32:04is
32:05orchestrating this you can ask the animals you can ask the beast of the field you can ask the fish

32:10the sea you can ask the files in the air they can tell you that god has his hand in
32:15this they recognize
32:16the power of god they know who feed them every day
32:21but it's men who don't recognize that god has his hand in everything and doing in verse 10 of joe

32:30it says in whose hand is the soul of every living thing and the breath of all mankind
32:41every living thing all mankind formed in the hands of god
32:49everything everything and if nature and the animals can recognize it we have no excuse
32:59we don't have any excuse the only thing it can be is that we willfully want to reject it
33:07but for those of us who have faith our faith starts in here in our hearts
33:13but it becomes understandable and tangible and explainable through the things that we can observe
33:18with our eyes by the things that god made
33:24joe 37 14 says listen to this stop and consider god's wonders do you know how god controls the clouds
33:33and makes the lightning flash do you know how the clouds hang poised those wonders of him who has perfected
33:43knowledge sounds like you've heard that before right that's because we have
33:46but i want to make it clear to us that god has his hands on everything and all of these
33:52things that
33:53we're trying to figure out like how the clouds flow and what they're made of and why the sun is
33:58a certain
33:58distance from the earth and all these other things god orchestrated it that way that way that is why
34:05things are the way they are there is no way it's scientifically impossible if you want to use science
34:11as your grammar it is scientifically impossible for the things that we have going on in our earth to just
34:18be
34:18a coincidence
34:22we are not here by accident but man can only do one thing and that's guess
34:29and why these things are if they don't want to put their faith
34:33in god like this scripture is calling us to do to put our faith in god it doesn't make you
34:40foolish it
34:40actually makes you wise
34:44because if not we're just guessing joel 38 says this this is a question that was posed and i would
34:52like to leave you with this just put something on your mind where were you at when the foundations of
34:59the earth was laid where were you at when the measurements of how big the earth needs to be
35:07were made did you determine the dimensions i know i didn't what supports the foundation of the earth
35:18who kept the sea inside of its barriers who tells the oceans to stop right here on the beach line
35:25have you considered those things it is the voice of god that tells the ocean to stop you cannot cross
35:31this line
35:34did you have your hand in that have you ever commanded the morning to come
35:39have you ever told the moon to shine
35:44do you know where the dawn comes from
35:49have you explored the springs of the sea to find out where the seas come from have you explored their
35:55depths
35:56the answer to that is no man has absolutely no idea was at the bottom of the ocean
36:02no idea where does the lake come from and where does the darkness go have you visited the storehouse
36:11of the snow or the storehouse of the hill or the storehouse of the rain have you been there do
36:16you
36:16know where they keep that stuff at do you know where the path of the source of light is do
36:23you know
36:24where the home of the east wind is do you who laid the path of the lightning that strikes can
36:33you direct
36:34the movement of the stars do you have any control over the constellations no we don't but when you look
36:43up in your telescope and you see the big difference it's like god saying here i go when you are
36:50hanging
36:51out at the beach with your family and you see how the waves stop and splash right at your feet
36:57right at
36:57the shoreline that's god saying here i go when the rain falls down from the sky that's god saying here
37:06i go
37:11when the snow just flurries down and looks so beautiful that's god saying here i go
37:24god god is everywhere
37:28he made it so obvious for us
37:33let us not ignore everything that he put right into our right in front of our faces
37:40because just like mystical said god is saying the same thing i'm right here here i go
37:47so my question to you is will you be willing to see him or will you look right past him
37:55let us pray
37:58heavenly father i pray that you will help us to see and know you for who you are
38:06father god i pray that you will help us to do the things that are pleasing in your sight
38:11i pray that you will just continue to put on our hearts
38:15father god that we may get closer to him
38:18lord god i pray that you don't just turn us over to our thoughts and our mind
38:24lord i pray that you will just continue to show yourself a strong real and mighty in our lives
38:31we love you and we thank you and i pray that this message may be a blessing to someone and
38:35that it may help
