00:09Hey guys for today we're gonna unbox the Sony DVP SR510H and this is a DVD player. Now this
00:18is not a portable DVD player but what it is is actually a standalone DVD player that you can
00:24connect to your TV set. You can pick this up on Amazon for $43. I'd recommend that you get this
00:31refurbished because it's a better value. The price will be basically cut in half to $23 or so.
00:39Now for the unboxing. This is the refurbished edition. There shouldn't be any difference
00:43between this and the new edition except you might get a standard box so this plain box is what you
00:50get with the refurbished edition. Let's open it up. As you can see this is the refurbished unit.
00:59Inside of the box we have the on the down the remote control right. Face light so
01:08there are no batteries in here right now. Look at the unit. This will hold standard AA batteries for
01:15them so you can pick up those in advance in case you need it. Right. The remote feels sturdy.
01:23Material feels durable but I wouldn't recommend that you drop this. Alright. I'm gonna put this aside.
01:28This is a standard remote with all of the regular inputs. You have your manuals here. Simple pull out
01:39manuals here. All the features, languages and codes. I'm gonna put this aside. Next you have your
01:47warranty and repair information. You can pull out and send back in. I'm gonna put this aside as well.
01:57And of course you have your input jacks for audio and video. Alright. Put this aside.
02:11This is the Sony DVD unit. I'll put a link to this in the description below. As I said this
02:20is the
02:21refurbished version. You can get this new as well. The best thing about this is that it
02:24supports HDMI. Alright. So if you have a high-definition TV set you can actually get
02:31full HD from this to the unit. This is done through a system known as upscaling where it
02:37basically takes the standard signal and upscales it to a HD signal. As you can see for a refurbished
02:49unit it looks brand new. Here on the front we have the power on and off switch LED. We have
02:57the stop,
02:57we have play and we have eject. Over here we have the standard markings. They include the Dolby audio and
03:07the
03:07energy star rating for energy saving. We have the compact this marking. On the front area of the Sony logo
03:14for a
03:15refurbished unit. This thing is quite clean. You can see here this is the DVD draw that would actually eject
03:25as soon as you press the eject button. This is where
03:27the DVD will exit the unit. Alright. You can look at it here. We have IR sensor on the front
03:34here that would work along with your remote.
03:37Alright. And on the front here we have the markings for HDMI. Now this is one of the few units
03:42that you can find on the market that's quite affordable and supports HDMI.
03:47Most of these units do not support HDMI but this one does. As I said I recommend you get the
03:53refurbished edition. It costs only $23.00 as well.
03:56The new unit costs $43.00 right. And it supports upscaling. And that upscaling feature is what's going to give
04:03you your full HD from your standard DVD discs. Right. Now to the back of the unit.
04:10Now on the back of the unit here you can see the regular markings, certifications and so on. Over here
04:22you have your inputs. As you can see you have your audio inputs over here.
04:26Left and left and right audio. And over here you have your coaxial and your video inputs. Right. This will
04:33run to your TV quite nicely.
04:35And the best feature about this that you won't find on most of these units is this HDMI output here
04:41that with your standard DVDs will actually upscale.
04:45This unit will upscale that signal and gives you a full HD signal. Right. Here over here you have the
04:52standard wall unit with the jack that's to be plugged into the wall.
04:57And finally on the bottom of the unit here there's nothing much to see. There are just some standard inputs
05:05and holes. Right.
05:06I think this is a great buy. You can go out and pick it up if you are looking for
05:10an inexpensive unit that will actually give you full HD quality over using your regular or your standard DVDs through
05:21upscaling.
05:21Alright guys. Thanks for watching. We have plenty of more unboxings and reviews coming up. If there's anything you'd like
05:27to see just send me a message. I get a lot of gadgets and I'm here just to unbox them
05:32for your pleasure.
05:33Alright. In case you want to know what you're in for before you buy. Alright. Thank you. Remember links will
05:39be in the description to this exact item on Amazon. Thanks.
