00:00Talk about Michael Penix, okay?
00:01The criticisms that I think are fair, okay, to this point.
00:06Does he struggle to process things at the line of scrimmage?
00:10Probably.
00:11Probably.
00:12I mean, the Bears threw a lot at him.
00:13They blitzed a ton, right?
00:15They blitzed a ton on him all day long.
00:18And him understanding where the blitz is coming from, what the reads are,
00:21and things of that nature, you know, I looked at, dissected a couple of plays
00:25and figured out, you know, kind of what he's missing.
00:28And a lot of it does come from what he's seeing at the line of scrimmage
00:31and what he's able to pick up on and what he's not.
00:35And so I think it's fair to say he's still learning.
00:40I've told you guys this for two weeks.
00:42You have to give Penix some time to grow.
00:45If you're only focused on the result of the game,
00:47you're always going to be disappointed when it doesn't go your way.
00:52That's not how you can measure this at this point in time.
00:54I'll say it again for like the fifth straight week.
00:56Remember, week-to-week league, we're trying to win every week.
00:59The overarch of the season is Michael Penix, our franchise quarterback.
01:02Is he going to grow?
01:03Is he going to develop into that?
01:04We have four games with Michael Penix.
01:06That's it.
01:07This year, we have 16 total games of Michael Penix.
01:11That's less than a rookie season, guys.
01:13I get his age.
01:14I get the injury.
01:15I get all those things.
01:15Separate argument.
01:17Take any quarterback over 16 games, and you see what you have.
01:20I've already seen people do this stuff, and I hate when people do this.
01:22But if you look at Matt Ryan's stat through the first 16 games
01:25and Michael Penix's stats, they're like identical.
01:28It means nothing.
01:29It doesn't.
01:30All it does is tell you that young quarterbacks don't typically have blow-up numbers
01:35that are eye-popping.
