02:47find the quarterback this year we got to establish that quarterback you know and if we don't we got

02:55if pennix doesn't have first off he's got to win that's why we're so caught up in the whole
02:59that some would say semantics of the injuries this and that but first things first if there's a
03:03quarterback competition he's got to be able to compete then you laid out the scenario last week
03:07which i thought was pretty good that if you know they're not happy with two and they really want
03:11to advance michael pennix and he's not ready at camp we just read out or read double what you said
03:16last week real quick on the pennix thesis we don't know where pennix's health is right okay
03:20kevin stefanski's talking tomorrow at ota's he's welcome to come out and say pennix is a full go
03:25quarterback competition is on if he doesn't say that or something along those lines i'm going to
03:30be left to believe that they're still working through some things with regards to the injury
03:34and there's some hurdles that he still needs to clear before full go 100 right fine if you need to
03:39buy a couple of weeks into the regular season before he's 100 who gets the start again this is all
03:44physical to we get to the start after that week three you have the mini buy thursday night all
03:49the way into monday night football it's a perfect time to make the change if two is not getting the
03:53job done you've bought yourself three extra weeks which is really almost four weeks because of the
03:57the mini buy there and so if you need to make the change there then they're great here's the thing
04:03mike you and i both agree just in terms of the future of this franchise the best thing possible
04:09would be for pennix to showcase that he is the future correct he's more controlled than than tua
04:15right so it'd be ideal in terms of an extra right two more years of salary you'd have yours uh

04:20this year is three then four your four fifth year option and then you so the best thing which has
04:25already been negotiated when he was drafted right the best thing would be that he shows you he is the
04:29guy we're talking about from a physical standpoint here and so we're looking forward to seeing if he is

04:40to do and that's fine i would love the coach or gm to come out and say he's pretty close

04:47going to have a competition they can talk about this theoretical competition all they want so can you
04:52and i but until we're there at training camp or until they're telling us that hey legitimately
04:58competition is on right i'm left to believe that pennix is not there yet see and the other thing is

05:31season and the offense was designed around him mike mcdaniel did everything around and because of
05:35the the histories of the contact the concussions the ball was coming out like that okay there was
05:42he's not sitting there patting the football waiting for guys go 30 yards down the field that ball is
05:45out and all the offenses yak is all yards after the catch he got the dolphins to give him 40
05:49million a
05:49year was was that all smoke and mirrors or was there something there at the time i just it's a
05:54statement about how bad quarterback play is in college and the odds are so hard to find that college
05:59quarterback the same barrel the giants were over with daniel jones the same barrel the jaguars were
06:04over with uh trevor lawrence and now they get the right coach in there and look at this but in
06:07the
06:07case of tua they had to but again the the investment with a guy with such a brittle injury history
06:13because
06:13i can a knee is one thing yes you don't want to have a quarterback in a knee injury but
06:17with two and
06:17all the concussions man that that was the that was the story one more hit and he's done like there
06:21are players and people in south florida saying he needs to step away from the game there was a time
06:25after that the the bad one that where he had the fencing reaction i was like maybe he won't play
06:30again and i i'll be honest at the time i was a little surprised he did work his way back

06:34things haven't exactly gone great for him since then but yeah and look i just i don't think it
