00:00what they're anticipating to happen next year with 24 teams makes what happened on Saturday
00:07completely irrelevant. Completely irrelevant. Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter if Texas loses
00:12back-to-back games. You know why? Texas is going to be one of the top 24 teams is going
00:16to make it
00:17into the college football playoff. And that, to me, it was on showcase this weekend,
00:23why adding another 12 teams does away with any meaning during the regular season whatsoever.
00:32You've got teams now who are out of options. Three losses, you're not sniffing the top 12.
00:39Next year, three losses, who cares? What's the big deal? That's how you made the regular season
00:46irrelevant by adding 24 teams to a college football playoff. Right. So, so basically like
00:54the top 25 all makes it, but what's happened is, I guess the bigger question is, did it, does it,
01:02maybe it's apples and oranges, I don't know, but does it matter in college basketball? As an example,
01:08college basketball puts 64 teams in and the games go on for money and they make a ton of money
01:15in the
01:16NCAA tournament and just life goes on. And I feel like that's it. That's where we're headed to,
01:21Joe. Just, yes, the games will mean less, but in the end, college basketball wins every year in
01:28March. And now the new college football season won't mean anything until December. And so, I mean,
01:35I don't know what else to say. There's just, I don't like it either. I'm with you, but there's just
01:39so much money to be had. There's so much money to be had. There's no other choice. They could put
01:4370
01:43teams in and it wouldn't make a difference. So there's, why is baseball going to add more
01:49playoff games? Why is the NFL going to add more playoff teams? It's just playoff money is more
01:53money than anything else. And that's what we're headed for in college. I think it's going to
01:58water it down. Of course, you could have three losses and be in. And, and that's just the nature
02:03of what they want to do because they're going to make billions of dollars with everybody sitting
02:06at home watching these games like they did on Saturday. I'm going to guess that Saturday was the
02:10highest watch college football day ever in the history of it was, I I've never watched
02:14more college football than I watched this past Saturday in my life. Well, the difference is
02:19Craig, I'll tell you the difference. The difference with March madness in here is that the, what
02:26would be considered the group of six or the other groups here, the Boise States of the world,
02:31the Memphis is of the world, those kinds of teams there. The only way you're guaranteeing
02:37in is you have to win your conference tournament, right? You're out if you don't win your conference
02:44tournament, right? So, you know, we're talking about over 300 and some odd different conferences
02:50in college basketball that play all play 30 some odd regular season games. We're talking about one
02:57game a week, 11 games, you're doing away with the conference tournament, which basically means
03:03you're awarding teams for losing three games, maybe even a four game loser, just to say that
03:11they made it into the postseason. You changed the whole dynamic, at least college basketball. We know
03:16Cinderella doesn't exist. It's nice to talk about no number 13 seed is winning a national championship
03:24in March. Man, we all noticed it's only going to be a one or a two seed living or like
03:30that's what's
03:31going to have. So we got to wait all this time until we get there. But they're forcing those
03:36less than teams there, not just because they're in smaller conferences, they're smaller schools,
03:42so on and so forth. But you have to win and prove that you're the best in those smaller schools.
03:48That's the part that's missing here with college football. You're doing away with conference
03:53championships. So that means I can get a two loss, what, three loss Boise State team and get in
04:00because it just it makes zero sense to me that you would. And why would you ever, Craig,
04:07why would you ever schedule anything tough during the regular season at a conference?
04:12Yeah, no, look, all those things are true. And in the end, if it's anything like last year's
04:17college football playoff, the teams at the top are going to crush the teams at the bottom. All those
04:21things, Joe, are true. In the end, they're going to make so much more money with this as opposed to
04:25not having it. There's nothing else to talk about. That's it. I mean, that's money. It's you're not
04:31helping the sport. And you're not helping the ratings during a regular season either.
