00:00day four in shanghai was the last opportunity for the tnt men to medal in the men's sprint
00:06questie brown exited in the qualifying round while jesse and philip advanced before getting
00:10knocked out in the following round by virtue of the third fastest time in qualifying nicholas
00:15paul advanced straight to the final 16 before securing a spot in the quarters and as the lone
00:20hope for the tnt men paul delivered with a photo finish win in his opening race against german
00:25henrik hackman and we know that nicholas paul is a former world record holder over 200 meters but a
00:32good time controller as well over four laps so he's strong enough to go this far out
00:35hackman down the back straight and here comes paul up to the back wheel he's got plenty of draft behind
00:41that man mountain out in front of him and he will not quite get there i don't think though that
00:48will
00:48go to a photo you can see the extra elevation as you come into the straight for the rider on
00:52the top
00:53they can utilize that for a little bit of more speed and big throw to the line and there it
01:00is it was
01:00tight but the former world record holder secured a spot in the medal round with a much easier second
01:08race now trying to come up over the top of him on the track itself and he looks like a
01:14carbon copy of
01:15what we just saw with harry levrayson harkman he cannot shut the door so the same as what we just
01:21saw and he's realized that he could not get past nicholas paul had the acceleration on the inside just
01:29enough to hold the german up however paul got the toughest match up in the semi-final as he would
01:35square off against dutch legend and defending champion harry levrayson and with paul in the hunt for a medal in
01:41the men's sprint the women will be hoping to have a similar chance on the final day tomorrow as makaria
01:46wallace will line up in heat five of the first round in the women's karen while teneal campbell will
01:51start at the fence in the women's points race terence clark tv6 sport
