00:00AI will be the technology that defines our lifetimes, even more so than the internet.
00:04I really do believe that.
00:05One of the things that's gotten lost is that AI is fun.
00:08We have some of the founders of the Frontier Models now talking about their own concerns,
00:13about what it will do to humanity, etc.
00:15How do you think about that?
00:17I think that anyone who says they know how this all works out is lying, arrogant, or both.
00:21We have to understand that we're dealing with a new form of intelligence.
00:23It's probably the most powerful piece of technology.
00:25It's been compared to fire, electricity, etc.
00:28It's going to change things really profoundly.
00:31Because we don't know how this is going to work out, there is a chance,
00:33we can debate how big it is,
00:35that there is a chance that things are not going to work out correctly
00:38or that things won't work out for the best.
00:40When you acknowledge that, I think sometimes because people tend towards fear of the unknown, etc.,
00:45what is a 1-20% chance gets the focus.
00:49But what gets left out in that is that odds are things are going to work out for the better.
00:55And when you think about what this could do for diseases and for science,
00:59what this can do for creativity and be helping people achieve creative outcomes
01:04and creating the kind of confidence that that requires in that creative process,
01:08it can be really powerful and dramatic.
01:11And I think it's really important to realize that, yes,
01:14we need to acknowledge and guard against the less than 50% chance that things don't go well,
01:19but not over-focus on it to the point that we forgo the opportunities and those positive odds.
