Trump calls Ukraine's resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries a "disgrace" as European leaders rally around President Zelensky at a Brussels summit.
In a Newsmax interview, President Donald Trump said Ukraine's renewed drone strikes on Russian refineries were only pushing global energy prices higher, after a Rosneft facility southeast of Moscow caught fire. President Zelensky defended the strikes, telling the Financial Times that Kyiv paused attacks for three days under Trump's energy ceasefire while Russia kept hitting Ukrainian power stations — "the block is out, we're done."
Trump also renewed his personal criticism of Zelensky, saying he finds him "more difficult to deal with than Putin." Meanwhile, the EU summit focused on winter preparations, air defence and funding Ukraine needs for the rest of this year and next, as Moscow's strikes leave hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians facing a harsh winter.
