02:44hello my name is Larry Tatum and welcome to my video on mass attacks in this tape I'm going
02:49to teach you how to defend against multiple attacks two three four five six opponents so
02:54get ready get prepared for it study your previous tapes and let's get started what is a mass attack
03:01well probably it's the greatest fear of a martial artist is to be confronted by more than just one
03:07opponent beyond the techniques changing which they do have to change to some degree when you
03:13fight more than one opponent it's the psychology that also changes the psychology in yourself as
03:18well as a psychology in your opponent when a guy has somebody else on his side obviously his
03:24confidence goes up and with his confidence raising his ability also raises as well he feels more sure
03:32of himself because he feels that with if something happens I got another guy who could back me up and
03:37as more guys gather in well it's quite obviously everybody their confidence gets higher now with
03:44the help of Rick let's go over some ideas about fighting one person now we know that from any
03:52given position especially in Kimple that Rick has full range with his rear hand front hand both his
04:00legs his knees any part of his body 360 degrees he can spin he can do a spinning back kick
04:06you can
04:07plant forward again after the spinning back kick and have a whole new range again all right now that's
04:12dealing with one person now oddly enough when you add another individual another attacker Sebastian
04:20would you help us thank you get in close now ideally you would love to have him this close of
04:25course
04:25that's not going to happen in a real situation but it's we'll illustrate a point now when two
04:31attackers get close to each other Rick has full range from the front of his body but if he tries
04:36to spin it's going to run into his partner likewise Sebastian has full range but if he spins towards Rick
04:44then he's going to be confined so Sebastian then has to go either to his left Rick would have to
04:51spin
04:52to his left and so forth so we are cutting off their some of their possibilities all right that's important
05:00now more than likely confronted with two people if they're going to become abreast to you this way there's going
05:05to be some
05:06distance in there all right so that they can they can maneuver in there but knowing the things that we
05:12learned from in close we're going to take that and use it to our advantage
05:17for instance if he shot a punch I may catch it break his elbow at this point use him as
05:23a shield and throw him into Rick
05:25which is fine because now it's going to give me more time if I had to get out of the
05:30situation or if I wanted to stay it's going to
05:33give me more time to get a new shot whether it be a going shot to Rick from this position
05:37and of course the possibilities are endless it's quite
05:41obviously what I obvious what I can do from this point all right now let's take this a step further
05:46and that's going to the
05:47psychology of yourself if you're confronted and you do have the time to develop some type of defense whether it
05:56be defense in
05:57leaving but if you can't leave and you have to stay and you determine to stay in the situation what
06:02are some of the things you're going to have to
06:03watch out for what are the things that can occur that can take you off guard now as my attackers
06:08are starting to sneak around me one may go to my
06:11right another may go to my left right at this point I still have them both in my vision and
06:16what we consider our peripheral vision is a hundred and
06:19eighty degrees all the way out in front Sebastian is still just on the edge of that 90 degree at
06:26this point as Sebastian keeps stepping right about there I can't see him and that's where I'm in trouble
06:33I may be able to hear him but I can't honestly tell what he's going to do now if he
06:38was to stay in that picture and then he kept snaking back it's imperative that I
06:42move with him and this is where your footwork starts to pay off that you learned in the previous tapes
06:47that you've got to move with your
06:50attackers even before the situation starts you've got to keep them in that frame the moment that they go out
06:57of frame and I use out of frame because
07:00that's exactly what happens then it starts where you're going to have to look and you're going to try and
07:04regain and recapture that and at the point of trying to
07:07recapture that hundred and eighty degree vision they're going to start keep on circling and it's going to be too
07:12late and I'm going to be caught in the
07:13center so this is one method is using your footwork keeping that vision at a hundred and eighty degrees and
07:21keeping them within it okay Sebastian come on
07:24around now fame it is you're going to ask yourself well if they do get out of my vision what
07:31do I do do I instigate the situation I've been taught as a
07:35martial artist to defend myself but not to instigate attack well your conscience is only going to dictate what you're
07:41going to do but you got to
07:42understand that sometimes an offense is going to have to be your best defense and an offense is a defense
07:48depending upon the situation if they won't let you out of it then you've got to make the move don't
07:52wait for it to happen to you
07:54now from this point my attackers begin to shift around me now which one do I choose and if I
08:03keep stepping this way I keep Sebastian in my vision but I'm creating
08:07distance from Rick keeping the distance from Rick but now I'm going to force Rick to come after me because
08:12as I step in Sebastian now is getting
08:16closer to me and I am beating these attackers to bring them in now this may be something I want
08:21to do because now one of them
08:23is in range he's in range with my foot and the other one's almost there so unbeknownst to Sebastian as
08:30we began I saw him start the snake so I borrowed his snaking I brought
08:35him in just close enough to where yeah it's possible he could get me but I'm going to have to
08:40stay alert and to bait him in if there's no way out and you feel you have to bait
08:44him to get him in close enough so that you can initiate that attack we're talking about this is one
08:48method watch it again I'm confronted they begin the snake
08:52hands are down they're not necessarily up as they begin to snake I keep them in frame I pull Rick
08:58into me and I pull Sebastian close enough to me where I can use a strike at that point
09:04but I don't have to look Sebastian to get this started if you watch me as I start to move
09:11back my first stance to keep him in frame or my foot
09:14maneuver was what twist stance the next one was a cat stance but I never took any one stance too
09:21big and what I mean by that is I didn't do a rear cross over a step
09:26step out and step through because now I'm forcing these guys to come running in at me what I did
09:30it was subtle as I started the snake I moved with them I paced with
09:34them again I used another cat stance to bring him close enough to where I can initiate a kick and
09:41at this point if it takes his vision away
09:45from me if I suddenly do this and Rick looks down then I've got that cue to move in on
09:49my next attacker these are subtle things these are
09:53things that come with years of experience but I'm trying to impart this knowledge to you now it's important you're
09:58going to have to use
10:00what's called a controlled manipulation it's an out of range control manipulation because you remember in the other tapes we
10:05talked about
10:05out of range control within range control control manipulation and so forth penetration control and these are the zones
10:13but they're all control manipulation and that's exactly what we're doing we are baiting these guys to do
10:21what we want them to do and so forth he takes his eyes off just long enough for me to
10:30move in and then initiate an attack
10:33all right now gentlemen come on over here put your guards up now that's with two another example is that
10:43we're dealing with one or more
10:45attacker is to make one an example now this can have a positive effect it can also have a negative
10:52effect what I mean by that is if
10:55Sebastian came in and I poked him in the eye hard enough to shock his partner he may not want
11:01to come in after seeing something like that
11:03or if I split his nose open at this point if I broke his nose and you saw that nose
11:09bleed down his white gi it may shock him to stay away or
11:14just to stay out of range for a little while on the other side of the coin this poke to
11:20the eye breaking the bridge of the nose may also
11:26turn him into rage trying to help his partner seeing his fallen partner go down so it can work either
11:32way so when you choose a target
11:34you choose a weapon remember the consequences remember as I spoke earlier in the other tapes every motion has a
11:40consequence
11:41every action has a consequence word has one meaning to one guy that same word can have another meaning to
11:48somebody else
11:49here confide in one guy Rick may not be so easily fighting he just may take it as more of
11:55a challenge to get after me these things have to be considered
11:59all right now we're going to bring three attackers in here and let's see some of the possibilities that exist
12:04within three
12:04now one thing to remember now is we would learn before when we were working with two guys that we
12:11could somewhat control
12:14their zones that they work within okay now with three it's a little hectic you're going to find out that
12:22when you're confronted
12:24with more than two guys your own energy also rises to the situation as well as theirs it's important to
12:30understand
12:31now no matter what you learn is that your movements are decisive you're going to choose targets they're going to
12:38stop them
12:39you're not going to question the ethics of what you're doing because when you're fighting more than two people even
12:45more than one person
12:46your life is on the line because people are willing to hurt you that bad there's a very good chance
12:52you may not come out of it at all
12:54you're decisive you're strong you're fast you're willing to take abuse and let me explain something right now
13:02there's nobody that can come through any fight more than two guys totally unscathed
13:07more likely you're going to take your own licks coming through but it can be done I've seen it done
13:11and I will give you now some of the experience that I've found when working more than two people
13:16and we're going to work with three now when they're lined up and if I have to initiate the attack
13:21because I'm not going to wait at this point if there's no way out and again I can't get out
13:26of the situation
13:26then I will initiate it do I take out the center attacker do I go over to the left do
13:32I go to the right
13:33what happens if I take out the center if I make an attempt to hurt him in doing this aren't
13:39the walls
13:40just going to close in on me possibly more likely yes if I go to the end and I'm closer
13:47to Daniel than
13:48I am to Rick it's probably safer for me to go to the end to give me some time some
13:54distance from the other
13:55attackers as they begin to move I could possibly use Daniel as a as some type of shield to get
14:01around me
14:03Rick's going to have to make a wider arc by that time I may be able to get Sebastian and
14:08by the time Rick comes around
14:10I'm able to use him and you notice at this point I'm using my legs in this particular technique and
14:15if you watch it again
14:17it kept me from getting tied up Daniel is the type of man that as I begin to move he's
14:23good with his hands
14:24and I move too close and he ties me up and he holds on and grabs onto me in any
14:28way I'm out of luck
14:31so I make sure on this particular technique as I begin to move I step with my right leg my
14:38right hand becomes a check
14:40because if Daniel just happens to do a right snap kick as I step I may be walking right into
14:45this action
14:46all right so I can't take the time to go too far around it because it's going to give them
14:50time to reach me
14:52so what I do is I take in consideration the possibilities so as I step I make sure I'm covered
14:58protected
14:59I chose a cat stance and I went to the side trying to force Daniel to use his right arm
15:06now I know that he can spin and back knuckle me but I'm taking certain certain chances and you do
15:16have to take certain chances
15:17and I'm hoping that Daniel will use his strong side and I know it's his strong side because his left
15:22arm is forward
15:23and most guys that are right handed will put the left side of their body forward
15:28all right so I'm betting on this and I bet in doing so I'm also aware if he does use
15:34a back spinning back knuckle
15:36I'm aware of the situation that could arise so it's not as if I'm going in there totally blind
15:42so what I'm going to try and do is get Daniel uses right hand so as I come around I
15:48can buckle
15:49and I'm going to go at an angle where he's not going to see the move Sebastian keeps coming through
15:53makes my kick
15:54I use a twist stance at this point if I use a right neutral bow I'm leaving my groin open
16:00to his back kick from here
16:04he could grab or punch so I'm going to pinch off the groin and we learned that in foot maneuvers
16:09and stances
16:11I'm going to pinch it off this way so nothing can come up underneath me and it also allows me
16:15torque
16:16so as Rick comes around then I can use the kick notice where my hands are going to protect me
16:22because again I'm in an area where something could come up again
16:25now as I begin to cross out
16:28I'm starting to organize these guys where I want them to be
16:31not where they want to be but where I want them to be at this point
16:35if I decide to take Rick
16:38heel palm him and throw him into these guys
16:41it's a big help they're being great dummies for me
16:43but it illustrates the point
16:46follow me now we'll go into the studio
16:47and we'll elaborate more on this
17:00welcome back to Panther Studios
17:01now I'm confronted with four men and I'm going to show you how it differs
17:04than working with three
17:05now if we take a circumstance
17:08where these gentlemen are pretty much walled up together in front of me
17:12now as they begin to snake around me
17:15remember that terminology
17:17as they begin to form their pattern
17:19okay right about here
17:22now more importantly than ever
17:24I'm going to have to start using these guys as shields
17:27I've got to position myself
17:29to a point to where it's going to make it hard
17:31if not almost impossible before they reach me
17:34and while they're in the process of trying to reach me
17:36they're going to expose themselves
17:38but I have to create this opening
17:39obviously because of the structure of the studio now
17:42I can only go so far back
17:43and I'm going to be stuck in a corner
17:44that I don't want to happen
17:46we've left them open here
17:48so you at home through the camera
17:49can see what I'm doing
17:50but in reality Sebastian probably would be a little closer to Rick
17:53but the important thing is now
17:55a certain gesture on my part
17:56is going to create an opening
17:59possibly it may or may not
18:02but what I'm talking about
18:04as I take a stance
18:05and here I am going to take a stance
18:07but as I take the stance
18:09rather than keep both hands up
18:11I'm going to purposely drop my left hand
18:13and put my right hand forward
18:15now all that does to Rick
18:17as it gives Rick
18:19or baits him with an opening
18:21and I'm just I'm sure he can't resist
18:23the temptation to fill that gap
18:26now if this is the case
18:28then my ploy is working
18:30as I drop my hand
18:32Rick starts to punch
18:33I sidestep to let that punch go
18:35but I've got to be aware of that left arm
18:37because I could walk right into that action
18:38so my sidestep has to be deep enough
18:43open myself open it
18:44to also invite an action from Sebastian
18:50now this is sophisticated
18:52the point is whatever it takes
18:53you're going to have to use it
18:54and this is to give you some new ideas
18:56again I purposely open myself up
18:59I don't look at Rick
18:59but we learned in the other tape
19:01that we can peripherally see what's going on
19:04180 degrees
19:05I can still see Rick
19:07and as I see Rick start to move
19:08I'm also going to invite Sebastian to move in
19:11at this point now
19:12I'm going to take my leave
19:13and get out of this
19:14if Rick starts to shoot that left punch
19:17at this point
19:19Rick's going to get hit with a back knuckle
19:22Sebastian on the other hand
19:23as I move in
19:24is going to be parried
19:26this is going to be parried
19:27now as you notice
19:28I drop back to a twist dance
19:31as I hit Rick
19:32that allows me to use marriage of gravity
19:35with the strike
19:35and position myself
19:37so that I can go on through
19:38now
19:40I have him as a shield
19:41between me and Daniel over there
19:43Daniel either has to go
19:45to this side
19:46or to this side
19:47well more likely
19:48he's going to come to this side
19:49because Andy's going to be in his way
19:52as I move from this point
19:53and I start to see Daniel come
19:55I start to position for him
19:57almost inviting
20:00but the point of it is
20:01I've got to be aware of a number of other things
20:03if I've hurt him enough
20:04then I don't have to worry about him
20:05if I broke some ribs
20:06but I still have this leg
20:08this arm
20:09that leg
20:10and his
20:12Daniel's right leg
20:12to consider
20:13so as I come from out of my twist dance
20:16I position myself for Daniel
20:19I take care of Sebastian
20:22with a scoop kick
20:23at this point
20:24rather than
20:27it's a modified scoop
20:29it's not a definite cock
20:30because that takes time
20:31I'm not cocking my leg up to hit
20:33but rather I'm sliding my foot into a position
20:35and raising it up
20:38as this happens
20:40Daniel's going to start coming in
20:41so as I place my foot down
20:43it's going to begin to launch
20:45that leg
20:46now so far
20:47I'm not committing myself
20:48primarily with hands
20:49but mostly with kicks
20:50because I want to keep myself away from them
20:53Andy by this time
20:54starts to come in
20:55as I cross in
20:56to meet Andy's action
20:58it puts me there sooner
21:00that I need
21:02if I for instance
21:03drop the back
21:04it's going to give the other guys a chance
21:06more time
21:06nothing has happened to Andy
21:08other than I blocked
21:09or severely hurt his leg
21:10with a back knuckle
21:12but still
21:12I'm taking too much time
21:13I'm going to close this thing down
21:15as fast as possible
21:16as I come off the kick
21:18make my move
21:19shoot my kick to the other leg
21:20scoop
21:20and I use that scoop kick on Andy
21:22at this point
21:24because it's point of origin
21:25it moves from where it is
21:28it allows me to come up
21:29and that scoop kick also
21:30if I take it a step further
21:32can use it on the leg behind me
21:34from this action
21:35I can pivot
21:36and then come back
21:38all this is open to me
21:39but the important thing is
21:41is I'm starting to dictate
21:42the situation
21:44alright now I'm going to take you
21:45through this again
21:45I want you to
21:46I'm going to reiterate
21:47on certain points here
21:49now this happens a lot faster
21:51than we're showing obviously
21:53but the point is this
21:54as I begin to see
21:55my options
21:57my guard is up
21:59suddenly as I look at
22:00as I notice Rick
22:01at that position
22:02I begin to bait him
22:04to him
22:05that's an open cue
22:06it actually frames my face
22:07ok Rick do that a little faster
22:09so in reality
22:10you would see this
22:11that's what would happen
22:12if you stayed there
22:13you're going to get hit
22:13obviously
22:14but as I baited it
22:15and he started to move
22:16I also moved forward
22:18now watch what my hands do
22:19as I move forward
22:20now it looks as if
22:22as I'm just striding out
22:25but I'm taking in consideration
22:27if Sebastian starts to move
22:30simultaneously
22:31now
22:31gentlemen move
22:32that this hand
22:33is going to parry
22:34it's going to be there for my parry
22:36my bottom hand is free
22:38I can use it
22:39catch it to the groin
22:41if I had the switch
22:42and block with it
22:45that's available as well
22:47now look where my
22:47back leg is
22:49in relationship to Sebastian
22:50it's right there
22:51so if I had the scoop
22:53I know it's there
22:54because these are the options
22:56that are available
22:57gentlemen you go back
22:58I begin to expose myself
23:01begin to parry
23:02I changed my mind and blocked
23:04stepped over
23:05did whatever I wanted to do
23:07but all that time
23:08knowing where my foot is
23:09I also know that
23:11my right foot is in
23:12position as well
23:16when you learn your footwork
23:18and you're practicing this
23:19and you're doing your step-throughs
23:21and your crossovers
23:23and so forth
23:25don't just do them to get you
23:26from one point to the other
23:27but remember where your foot was
23:29if you reach over
23:31to position yourself
23:32to fight
23:34most people think
23:35of only about from here up
23:37but think from your toes of your feet
23:40or the soles of your feet
23:41all the way up
23:41so no matter what happens
23:43there's always something
23:45available for me
23:46from down there as well
23:47alright now
23:48let's go back and take it again
23:51this will show you
23:53how I figure some of my
23:54mass attack sequences out
23:56I just don't figure them out
23:57shot for shot
23:59to say that
24:01I'm going to step
24:02invite action
24:03and only hit the ribs
24:05and say well that just happens to work fine
24:07when I line this up for you
24:09to learn from this
24:11I take in consideration
24:12all the things
24:13that I can change my mind
24:15even what I'm teaching you
24:17from an eye poke
24:18to an arm break
24:19to a block
24:21to now we know where my foot is
24:23to a scoop
24:24I can change it
24:25I know now that my foot is too far away
24:27to be of use with my left leg
24:29it really can't quite reach
24:32ok
24:32these things have to be known
24:34alright
24:35now
24:36let's take it again
24:36let's go a little further past these guys
24:39as I begin to move
24:40I parry
24:41go to my twist stance
24:42give me marriage of gravity
24:44the options are open to me
24:46I could stay here and scoop him
24:48but I decided to slip myself
24:50just over to get ready for Daniel
24:52Daniel's moving faster than I suspected
24:54so as he moves
24:56then I use that foot
24:57and get myself in position
24:58I don't even need to use my hands at that point
25:01now
25:02with my leg up in the air
25:03what are my options
25:04if Rick happens to move in a little closer
25:07to me at this point
25:08I can also use
25:10the leg that I was kicking
25:11and use my crossover
25:12as not just a way
25:13of getting to and from
25:15but as a weapon itself
25:18so that's another option
25:19but in this case I didn't have to use it
25:21Andy starts to come in
25:23I make my block
25:24now
25:25Rick hold your arm down there
25:27I make my block
25:28on a crossover with Andy
25:30reason being
25:31is that out of a crossover
25:33I can take out
25:35also that arm down there
25:36now watch that again
25:38that means
25:39that if Rick is still starting to get up
25:41I can take it over
25:43what can my heel do from this point
25:45if the camera can see down here
25:47but
25:48it can also scoop Rick too
25:51so in that path
25:53when I cross over
25:54before I kicked Andy
25:55if Rick started to get up
25:57and come towards me
25:57I can use that as a sweep
26:00scoop
26:01then go to Andy
26:02stomp back again
26:04and come back
26:05and finish off the technique
26:08this is called
26:09sequential opportunity
26:11it's how a target is exposed
26:13from the one to the other
26:15how weapons
26:16suddenly are there
26:18and available for you
26:19and that's why it's so important
26:21to understand
26:21the full dimensions
26:23of your basics
26:24as we said before
26:26basic foot maneuver
26:26basic stance
26:27isn't just that
26:29that's what we learn with
26:30but
26:32they carry it past that point
26:33to the point
26:34like I said
26:35where they become weapons
26:36so remember the word
26:37sequential opportunity
26:39it's the way
26:39opportunity arises for you
26:40let's take it again you guys
26:42let's see what else
26:42we can find out
26:43in this particular sequence
26:47as I baited him
26:48in a cat stance
26:49now what's nice about a cat stance
26:51is if I changed my mind
26:53I could shoot a kick
26:54from that position
26:55right?
26:57if I changed my mind
26:58with my hands
26:59decided to block first
27:01I can kick
27:02from that position as well
27:04it's a good stance to be in
27:06then I can decide to take my leave
27:08for this
27:08of these guys
27:09again watching that left arm
27:11I don't want to walk into
27:13this action
27:14it's nothing wrong
27:15with walking in
27:16to this side
27:17it's walking in not knowing
27:20alright
27:21options come in
27:22if I move in
27:23I can parry
27:24shoot
27:25as
27:26as I move
27:27remember we learned our double parry
27:28in the other tapes
27:30I can double parry
27:31back knuckle to the elbow
27:33sweeping this way
27:35take a scoop
27:35Daniel comes
27:37still continue on the same technique
27:39take Rick out
27:40up
27:41back
27:41and so forth
27:43so you see
27:44relatively
27:45it's very easy
27:46to devise these techniques
27:47the hard part
27:49is to apply it
27:50that takes practice
27:52it takes time
27:52and what I'm
27:54showing you here slow
27:55has to happen immediately
27:57sequential opportunity
27:58happens to happen
27:59you have to have an understanding of it
28:01so quickly
28:02that the slightest little thing
28:03that goes
28:04wrong with what you thought
28:06you were going to do
28:06it can't register as a mistake
28:09but only as a deviation
28:10and sometimes deviations
28:12can be fatal as well
28:13but the important thing
28:14is that you know
28:15where the pitfalls are
28:17when you're fighting
28:17more than one person
28:19I may have had it in my mind
28:21to bait Rick
28:22and it didn't work
28:23he didn't come in
28:25now suddenly
28:27I'm open for Rick
28:29and Andy
28:30okay
28:31these two gentlemen over here
28:32so what I plan to do
28:35didn't work
28:36so what can I do
28:37how can I open these guys up
28:39how can I get them
28:40to start performing for me
28:41it's like leading somebody to dance
28:42either you're going to lead
28:43or you're going to follow
28:43one of the two
28:44I don't want to follow
28:46I want to direct this
28:48one way or the other
28:49I have to make these gentlemen
28:50work for me
28:52now
28:53Rick didn't fall for it
28:55so what do I do
28:56I change it
28:57but somehow
28:58I want to get him to move
29:00I can move at him
29:01but it may move him back
29:02and move what
29:03move them
29:04in
29:06alright
29:06back
29:08suddenly when a lone individual
29:09takes a stand
29:12it may
29:12or may not
29:13make them think
29:14well
29:15he's a lot tougher than we suspected
29:16or
29:17he's a lot dumber
29:18so
29:19these are the things that you have to consider
29:21experience will tell you
29:22what to do
29:23my advice in a mass attack
29:25is don't get involved
29:27if you can run away from it
29:29do it
29:30because the odds are not in your favor
29:32one mistake
29:34no matter how slight
29:36could be your last one
29:38thank you gentlemen
29:40good
29:42now
29:42to show what this looks like full force
29:44and to show how I would use it
29:45in a street situation
29:47I'm going to do it now
29:48full speed
29:49full power
29:51keep your eye on it
29:52watch carefully
29:53going
29:53ahead
29:53take it
29:56okay
29:57ok
29:57ok
29:58you
29:58why
29:58why
30:07you
30:07ok
30:10do
30:11you
30:13ok
30:13ok
30:14ok
30:23now i'm going to talk beyond just four people and i want to get into this this is important
30:28for you to understand that before you think that you can be a superman and go out and take on
30:34two
30:34three four five six people and so forth we're going to have to get a little more realistic
30:39than that you've got to understand that once you get beyond the scope of realism it's no game when
30:45you fight more than one person as i said in one of the other tapes your life is on the
30:49line
30:50accidentally they could kill you purposely they could kill you all right one mistake could be your
30:55last mistake as i said the thing of it is we're not trying to show you how to take on
30:59this many people
31:01because after the four if one of my shots didn't drop him hard enough and he came back up i'm
31:07not
31:07just fighting four i got five if my kick to his knee didn't put him down now i'm fighting six
31:14this is no game it's only to show you the possibilities the realm of kenpo how it works
31:20all the different weapons the different stances that are weapons as i've said before the different
31:27targets using his arm as a target so forth using my fingers as a weapon all of this is extremely
31:36important and you learn that from working with more than one person but i'll tell you one thing
31:41don't let your confidence carry you past a point to where you have more confidence than ability
31:46and that has happened i've seen it happen to people the important thing is is to learn from this
31:51and as you learn to to work in a mass attack also remember the dangers of it and stay away
31:58from it
31:59i personally know of many martial artists that have never been in a street altercation even though
32:04they can handle themselves that's not the important thing the experience that they've gained
32:08through their training has taught them not to go out and put themselves in a situation that they
32:13might not be able to get out of you know trouble today has a way of finding you and the
32:18odds are
32:18that it probably will find all of us at one time in our lives for us to go out there
32:23and think that
32:24we have more ability than we actually do is putting your life on the line the trouble is many people
32:30gain tremendous confidence through martial art training but sometimes they have more confidence
32:35than they do ability don't be like this don't be foolish you know there's a lot of knowledge that
32:41can be gained from practicing with more than one attacker but that is what it is it's practice at
32:46this point but don't let it fool you in you can do more than you actually have ability
32:52to do treasure this knowledge work on it practice it learn the concepts theories and principles
33:00involved in mass attack and i'll look forward to seeing you on the next tape gentlemen
33:11you
33:20you
33:36Oh my god!
