00:02:29She's hanging down on the bag right there.
00:02:31Sometimes it'll come off and you're taught as the infielder, keep the tag, hold it.
00:02:38Touring a 3-30 hitter with men in scoring position.
00:02:41Is ahead 2-0.
00:02:44Great in these situations, killer against right-handed pitching.
00:02:56That's an excellent score on a base hit.
00:03:00Phillips 2-0.
00:03:02Ball 3.
00:03:04Contreras on deck.
00:03:08They're going to put him on.
00:03:11All right, so instead of trying to battle back against the left, he'll go righty-ready with Contreras.
00:03:15But careful what you wish for.
00:03:19This guy's been as good as anybody in these playoffs.
00:03:23Coach Dan Vogelbeck said, this guy loves the moment as much as you can love it.
00:03:34There is Vogelbeck.
00:03:37Solid playing career.
00:03:38Fresh off of the field getting into coaching.
00:03:42This would be one of the guys the Brewers would want up in these situations.
00:03:46Knocked in three in game two, did Contreras.
00:03:503-79 in these playoffs.
00:03:53The double came in to score in the two-run fourth today.
00:04:20They think back to the sixth inning of game two.
00:04:23Same situation, or at least similar.
00:04:25They walked terrain intentionally.
00:04:27And Contreras made him pay with an RBI hit.
00:04:32Tied run at second.
00:04:33Go ahead, run at first.
00:04:36Strike one.
00:04:36Both those guys out there can fly.
00:04:46Phillips best pitch, that breaking pitch.
00:04:49Contreras, one of the best in the league against breaking balls lately.
00:04:55On this 0-1.
00:04:57It is that pitch, he lays off.
00:04:59It's one and one.
00:05:10Lefty Vesey is ready.
00:05:12Three straight lefties after Contreras.
00:05:151-1.
00:05:17Downstairs for ball two.
00:05:27Brewers went 10 up, 10 down to start this game.
00:05:30Six of the last 10 have reached base since.
00:05:43And the one thing we've not seen him do is attempt to steal a third.
00:05:48They were going to do it.
00:05:49They got the guys on the bases for it.
00:05:532-1 pitch, upstairs, ball three.
00:06:11Three passes the last two innings have helped the Brewers get back into this game.
00:06:16Two walks, both have come in to score.
00:06:27Here's a 3-1 pitch.
00:06:29Fix balls by him three and two.
00:06:31Now what?
00:06:34I mean, I don't know anymore.
00:06:35Guys that have 98 miles an hour are throwing nothing but breaking balls.
00:06:38And then they're behind in the count.
00:06:403-1, you beat them with a breaking ball.
00:06:43Chances are he's going to a breaking ball.
00:06:45I throw a fastball.
00:06:47Berker in the dirt taken for ball four.
00:06:50And Milwaukee has loaded him up.
00:06:53From down four to nothing to a 4-3 game.
00:06:57And another pitching change coming here.
00:07:02The Brewers down four and saying we got him just where we want him.
00:07:06The comeback kids looking to do it again.
00:07:08Alex Vessia is ready to go.
00:07:10And it's Jake Fowers who continues to change games.
00:07:14Coming up.
00:07:15And the Brewers within one.
00:07:24Jake Fowers, if he's not already positioned himself to be the MVP,
00:07:28he's got a chance to solidify that case right here.
00:07:31As Alex Vessia comes on to face him.
00:07:33Milwaukee scored three straight to get to within one.
00:07:36And they've loaded the bases with two gone here in the fifth.
00:07:43Vessia hard to hit.
00:07:44But sometimes some walks in there.
00:07:47No room for error here.
00:07:50First one to Bowers.
00:07:51Very high.
00:07:56Fastball slider change.
00:07:57None of them are easy to hit.
00:07:58But as you mentioned, you're going to have to make this pitch right here.
00:08:01You cannot get to a 2-0 count.
00:08:04Got to have an aggressive in the strike zone pitch.
00:08:11The 1-0.
00:08:12By the hands.
00:08:14Ball two.
00:08:1512 pitch walk against Yamamoto in game two.
00:08:19Go ahead.
00:08:20Home run on the 11th pitch last night.
00:08:22And already tonight, he's got a two-run double.
00:08:28Bottom of the order set it up.
00:08:29Hamilton at third.
00:08:31Terang at second.
00:08:32Contreras at first.
00:08:40Bowers trying to do it again.
00:08:42Three balls and no strikes with nowhere to put him.
00:09:05The players have tied the game.
00:09:07They just keep on coming from down four to nothing to tie it up in the fifth.
00:09:16Bases loaded walk for Jake Bowers, who's driven in three of the four.
00:09:30I mean, nothing close.
00:09:36The fourth walk at the inning.
00:09:38Bases loaded, two outs.
00:09:40Yelich.
00:09:42Finds the zone with a slider.
00:09:45And now the Brewers looking to get greedy.
00:09:48Looking for the lead.
00:09:49Went away from a pennant.
00:09:57Yelich is 0 for 2 today.
00:10:04Chops at foul.
00:10:050-2.
00:10:31From elation to shell-shocked here.
00:10:43Bersi is 0-2 pitch.
00:10:46Do it again.
00:11:13One and two.
00:11:20Well, they got away with the walks at an historic rate in that division series.
00:11:25Biting him here, though.
00:11:26Yeah, he looks like he's having some trouble, obviously, but the trouble might be with the mound and the landing
00:11:31spot.
00:11:31Of course, you have glass now at 6'8", landing there, and he's probably hitting the corner of that mark.
00:11:43That's the inning, but that's the Brewers.
00:11:47Down four to nothing.
00:11:48No problem for Milwaukee.
00:11:51No problem for Milwaukee.
00:11:51They get two in the fourth and two in the fifth.
00:11:54Halfway home in game four.
00:11:57Disbelief in Dodger Stadium.
00:11:59They're saying, we can use that guy to try and stop him.
00:12:06Back at square one, tied at four here in the fifth.
00:12:10It's Ohtani to lead off, and it's Jojo Romero to face him.
00:12:16Ohtani in the second inning, connected on his first home run since August 18th.
00:12:21You've got a challenge.
00:12:23Happy Contreras at it again here on the first pitch of this fifth inning.
00:12:26He's got it right again.
00:12:27The calls over totally could do this guy.
00:12:32So, one-one on Ohtani.
00:12:35One for nine in his career against Romero.
00:12:37Struck him out earlier in this series.
00:12:41Flex down the left field line.
00:12:47And the homer, he had a ball middled in that he crushed.
00:12:52This pitch that he had a chance right there.
00:12:55The breaking ball over the middle plate.
00:12:56I would highly suggest Romero doesn't throw anyone close to that again.
00:13:13Got him working.
00:13:15Romero gets Ohtani on three pitches.
00:13:22First one was picture perfect.
00:13:24It caught the outside corner.
00:13:26This one was not.
00:13:27Got away with it.
00:13:28Right down the middle.
00:13:29Just pulled his front side out.
00:13:30And the last one was back to that picture perfect.
00:13:33Spotted it on the outside part of the plate.
00:13:36That is just nasty.
00:13:38One go on.
00:13:39Mookie backs.
00:13:41Credit to Dustin May.
00:13:42After giving up that three-run home run to Ohtani.
00:13:44Two scoreless innings after that.
00:13:46That's what I was saying.
00:13:46I mean, you just keep your team in it.
00:13:48You've seen your team battle back.
00:13:50You had to provide those innings.
00:13:51He did.
00:13:53We're back to square one.
00:13:55I mean, this is so hard to believe in the playoff baseball with the two-time defending champ.
00:14:01This is not supposed to happen.
00:14:03You're in Europe for nothing.
00:14:05You got all the experience in the world.
00:14:07You're supposed to clamp that down.
00:14:09And that is just incredible credit to the Milwaukee Brewers for not only battling back.
00:14:16They were an eyelash from taking the lead.
00:14:20It's amazing.
00:14:22Kind of defying conventional wisdom there.
00:14:25Confusing to be denied.
00:14:27That's not one, two.
00:14:29Fouls it off.
00:14:30The Dodgers since the Ohtani home run.
00:14:33One for nine at the plate.
00:14:35And they've seen the four to nothing lead disappear.
00:14:40The Dodgers have got no tiny going with the home run.
00:14:43Still waiting for Mookie Betts to take off.
00:14:48Bounces on gently left side.
00:14:50It's short.
00:14:51Pratt takes his time and throws him out.
00:14:54I'm not super confident, but two one-out walks got the rally started.
00:15:07Two outs.
00:15:08Here's Freeman.
00:15:09I mean, you were saying it going into those innings.
00:15:11The importance of following your team scoring runs by just attacking the strike zone.
00:15:15But a 4-0 lead.
00:15:17You tack.
00:15:18If they beat you hitting, they beat you hitting.
00:15:22But when you give a free pass, it's like giving a double.
00:15:25It's like the biggest momentum swing for the team.
00:15:29Like, thank you for the free pass.
00:15:30Oh, by the way, I'm going to be on second.
00:15:32In a minute.
00:15:33Yeah, the way this team moves.
00:15:36Nothing in two on Freeman.
00:15:42Scoring in the fifth inning or later.
00:15:4612 runs.
00:15:48Out of their 19 in this series.
00:15:51One and two on Freddie Freeman.
00:15:55Conversely, Dodgers hadn't scored from the sixth inning on before last night.
00:15:58And from the seventh inning on, they have not scored in this series.
00:16:02But now that the game's back even, you've got the big arms women down there in the Brewers' pen.
00:16:07Freeman swings and misses.
00:16:09And Jojo Romero against three MVPs at the top of the order goes 1-2-3.
00:16:18What a ballgame this has been.
00:16:20Dodgers with four in the second.
00:16:21Brewers with two in the fourth and two in the fifth to tie it up.
00:16:24They lead this best of seven.
00:16:26Three games to none.
00:16:27One win away from their first trip to the World Series since 1982.
00:16:31Here at Mitchell leads off this inning.
00:16:33Tanner Scott is on for Dave Roberts.
00:16:35Gave up a home run in the first game of the playoffs.
00:16:37He's been shut down since then.
00:16:39No hits and he struck out more than half of the batters he's faced in four games since.
00:16:48Where'd he go?
00:16:49He did and it's 0-2.
00:16:50He's been so nasty on that pitch right there.
00:16:52I mean, that is just a left-handed batter's nightmare.
00:17:10He's got to go in the sweep.
00:17:12Brewers one run in each game.
00:17:14Four total.
00:17:16Four in the first half tonight.
00:17:23Scott to Mitchell.
00:17:25The one to offer him.
00:17:27Able to lay off this time.
00:17:28Time to the count evens up.
00:17:30Brewers have taken advantage of the walks in this game.
00:17:33There have been five of them issue.
00:17:35Two of them have come in to score.
00:17:39Six, seven, and eight.
00:17:41Pratt and Friedrich to follow.
00:17:46He's gone from 0-1, 2-3, and 2.
00:17:50That's been the Dodgers problem.
00:17:51And that should not be their problem with the veteran pitchers.
00:17:54They really should not.
00:17:55And they've engaged too many counts.
00:17:59To give these pesky Milwaukee Brewers back in the count.
00:18:05And they have a motto.
00:18:06Win the 3-2 count.
00:18:10Mitchell sends a fly ball to right center field.
00:18:13Tucker's going back.
00:18:14Here it is.
00:18:15Gone.
00:18:16Milwaukee takes the lead.
00:18:34From down four to nothing.
00:18:37The leading 5-4 in game four.
00:18:44Mitchell was down 0-2.
00:18:46He worked the count full.
00:18:47And then launched a home run to put the Brewers in front.
00:19:01And tonight, a microcosm of these playoffs for the Brewers.
00:19:05Lean on.
00:19:06Pressuring.
00:19:07Pressuring.
00:19:08Power.
00:19:09They add the home run power to the pressure.
00:19:13And they now find themselves to their sights set on a sweep.
00:19:19Ball on a strike on Pratt.
00:19:21Hitting's hard.
00:19:22It's even harder with two strikes.
00:19:24And we've seen it time after time after time.
00:19:27Even some of the results that did not work out.
00:19:30They still worked the count.
00:19:32And got a chance.
00:19:33And that is just.
00:19:37In some cases, inexcusable for veteran pitchers to put themselves in that spot.
00:19:41And again, Mitchell takes advantage of it.
00:19:44Great at bat.
00:19:45Got it to 3-2.
00:19:47Sold out on the fastball.
00:19:51Garrett Mitchell had two home runs against left-handed pitchers in five years in the majors.
00:19:57He's got two in the last 24 hours.
00:20:01Snell last night.
00:20:02Scott here.
00:20:10Had no chance on the sliders that got him 0-2.
00:20:13But boy, oh boy, that kind of sawed off low finish.
00:20:17The same kind of finish he had with a change up off of Snell.
00:20:21That path produced Kyle.
00:20:28Another one, too, comes home to Pratt.
00:20:29It fouls it off.
00:20:31They've been waiting for Garrett Mitchell to have big moments like that for a long time.
00:20:35Bad luck.
00:20:36Just bad luck after bad luck injury.
00:20:39Somehow is made.
00:20:40I mean, you would never know by being around this guy.
00:20:42He's maintained such a positive vibe, positive spirit, the spot, a knee injury, multiple shoulder issues, an oblique, a broken
00:20:50hand.
00:20:51Pratt continues to battle.
00:20:53But, like so many of these brewers, whether that's through their career, whether that's in this game down forward or
00:21:00nothing, he sticks with it.
00:21:02He keeps fighting.
00:21:05And he's never had a moment like this.
00:21:07A go-ahead home run and a potential clinching game of the championship series.
00:21:14Two and two on Pratt.
00:21:29Finished him off.
00:21:32And, Kenny, those injuries are only half of the challenge.
00:21:36Absolutely, Joe.
00:21:37When he was nine years old, Garrett Mitchell was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
00:21:41He has the date of his diagnosis, May 7, 2008, tattooed in Roman numerals on his chest.
00:21:48His father, Anthony, has the same tattoo.
00:21:51And growing up, he had some inspiration.
00:21:53When he was in high school, he received a call from a major leaguer who was diabetic, Sam Fold.
00:21:58Fold, who is now the Phillies president of baseball operations, offered him some advice.
00:22:02And, Joe, as you said earlier, Mitchell went on to become the 20th overall pick out of UCLA in 2020.
00:22:09Same path as Garrett Cole, going from Orange Lutheran to UCLA.
00:22:14And then that first-round draft pick.
00:22:17One ball, one strike on Sal Freelich.
00:22:25And the Brewers have exactly what it looked like they were not going to have in this game,
00:22:29and exactly what Dave Roberts was desperate to avoid.
00:22:31That is the lead.
00:22:33With the big arms ready to rock.
00:22:35Aaron Ashby has already started moving around down in that Brewers bullpen.
00:22:40Romero goes 1-2-3 against the top of the order in the fifth.
00:22:45Does he try to get the last 12 outs of this game from two pitchers?
00:22:49Ashby and McGill.
00:22:53That's strike two.
00:22:56Sounds like, hey, I'm not going to challenge that, but I don't think it's three strikes.
00:23:01Can I challenge both things, the fact that it's a strike and which one it is?
00:23:20No, 2-2.
00:23:21And a foul ball.
00:23:22It was Freelich that started at last inning.
00:23:26A key sequence there with Dave Roberts is thinking about going to Alex Vestia then for Freelich and Hamilton.
00:23:32Stuck with Tyler Glass now, who walked Freelich, immediately stole second, scored one pitch later on a base hit from
00:23:38Hamilton.
00:23:57He's taking a break.
00:24:04Freelich reaches out, grounds it up the middle of the with charging kicker Hernandez two.
00:24:09Your team, your players, baseball your way.
00:24:13Follow all the postseason action in the MLB app, the number one app for live baseball.
00:24:21And now here is Hamilton.
00:24:27Hamilton on base four times in his two starts in this series, three stolen bases, four runs scored.
00:24:38He's Brewers may not have the star power that some other teams do, but there are so many guys with
00:24:45roles that they play to perfection.
00:24:47And it's up and down this lineup that they get contributions.
00:24:52Biggest names up at the top, Churio and Contreras, powers the career year.
00:24:59Hamilton, where he's contributed out of the nine spot.
00:25:03Not even talking about the captain and Christian Yelich.
00:25:08Whole team brought him back tonight, though.
00:25:10The guy with the biggest swing, Garrett Mitchell.
00:25:13Take your pick.
00:25:25Take your pick.
00:25:27Got it with the half fastball.
00:25:29The Brewers have come all the way back and taken the lead.
00:25:32It's Garrett Mitchell.
00:25:34Got his first hit of the series yesterday.
00:25:37A home run.
00:25:38He adds one here from down four to nothing to a head 5-4.
00:25:48Five unanswered for Milwaukee.
00:25:50Garrett Mitchell's home run has the Brewers in front.
00:25:52Jojo Amaro delivers strike one to Will Smith.
00:25:56Nothing new for Amaro going more than an inning.
00:25:59Doctors still have to be looking at this saying, here's our shot, because Ashby has rested.
00:26:03Chad Patrick, who's not appeared in this whole season, has started to warm.
00:26:07So, Pat Murphy's going to try and chip away a few outs here from the total that he's chasing
00:26:11before going to Ashby and McGill.
00:26:13Yeah, that's the right approach.
00:26:14This guy had a pretty easy inning.
00:26:18The inning before.
00:26:23Smith ahead, 2-1.
00:26:25Retiring the top of the order.
00:26:26In order.
00:26:26Striking out Otani and Freeman.
00:26:29The second guy they picked up at the deadline from St. Louis to pitch in this game.
00:26:33Dustin May did his part to hold it down.
00:26:36Now, Romero.
00:26:392-2 on Will Smith.
00:26:43There with the home run to Otani did May, but then two scoreless innings from there.
00:26:53Smith, Tucker, Teoscar Hernandez for the Dodgers in the sixth.
00:27:02Towards left center field, Churios there for the first out of the sixth.
00:27:09Stay connected to America's pastime with T-Mobile, America's best network.
00:27:16Top of the order is due up for Milwaukee in the seventh inning, and Edwin Diaz has started the war.
00:27:22You mentioned Dave Roberts is planning to be aggressive with Diaz.
00:27:26He sees the top of the order coming up there.
00:27:28So, their clothes are going to be deployed.
00:27:31Now, the problem is that the idea was to have Tanner Scott to backfill.
00:27:35But, they'll figure that out when they get there, and that'd be a good problem for them to have.
00:27:39Tucker shoots one to left center field.
00:27:41That's down for a base hit, and it scoops to the wall.
00:27:44Dodgers get the time run in scoring position.
00:27:47Tucker's second hit of the night.
00:27:55Stayed on that pitch.
00:27:57I believe it was a sinker, and he stayed on it, and split the gap there in the outfield.
00:28:02Just that swing I was talking about.
00:28:04See how flat it is in the zone.
00:28:15And if you're saying, why in the war do they leave in the lefty arm for the righty, Romero's actually
00:28:20tougher against righties than he is lefties.
00:28:23First one to task, Hernandez.
00:28:25Ground ball to short for Cooper Pratt.
00:28:28Two out, tying one to third.
00:28:33We talked about Otani needing that big hit, that big sound.
00:28:38I know Muncy got a base hit his last time up, but this would be the same thing for Max
00:28:43Muncy.
00:28:49A couple of key pinch hit opportunities for Muncy in these two games.
00:28:53He struck out in both of them.
00:28:57Two out of 11 in this championship series.
00:29:00Tied with a base hit here.
00:29:03Get a mound visit, and we get a quick word from Adobe.
00:29:06MLB fan experience.
00:29:08It starts with Adobe.
00:29:14This run for the Dodgers, going back to when Dave Roberts took over in 2007-2016.
00:29:19The roster was pretty much completely turned over.
00:29:22With Clayton Kershaw retiring, this is the longest-tenured guy.
00:29:26Back to joining the Dodgers in 2018.
00:29:29Of course, capped off that season with the 18th inning walk-off against Boston in the World Series.
00:29:38Looking for a base hit here.
00:29:40Swings and misses in front of a sweeper.
00:29:59Another breaking ball, fouled it off, and he had one to hit right there.
00:30:02Runs have been tough to come by.
00:30:03Two outruns are certainly tough to come by.
00:30:05By the three-run homer by Otani, the only two outruns.
00:30:08They were big.
00:30:09It was 4-0.
00:30:12And then some two outruns by the Brewers with three straight walks.
00:30:17I mean, once he reaches out there to stay alive, the Brewers scored in each of the last three
00:30:29innings last night to win the game, down for nothing today, scored in three consecutive innings.
00:30:35Didn't wait as long.
00:30:36They did it in the middle innings tonight.
00:30:40Romero trying to hold on to that lead.
00:30:45Another 0-2 to Muncie.
00:30:47Ball is off, stopped by Contreras.
00:30:52Again, another sign that the hitter is jumpy at a pitch so far outside.
00:30:59And that's just a lack of trust, obviously, on that breaking ball against the left-handed pitcher.
00:31:05So, if you're a left-handed pitcher, this can't be anywhere close to the zone.
00:31:12Got him to chase.
00:31:13Strike three.
00:31:15Romero gets out of it.
00:31:17Milwaukee hangs on to a 5-4 lead after six innings in game four.
00:31:30Edwin Diaz, rocky first regular season with the Dodgers, dominated in the division, though, against Atlanta.
00:31:37First outing that they see us.
00:31:38Jackson Jurio fouls off the first pitch.
00:31:425-4 game here in the top of the seventh.
00:31:45Brewers looking for the sweep and a trip to the World Series for the first time since 82.
00:31:50Cheerio 0-4-3 in this game.
00:31:570-2.
00:32:13Brewers trying to do this without a ton from Cheerio.
00:32:18Lead-off home run yesterday, but below 200 for the playoffs.
00:32:23Reaches out, sends one in the air to center field for part of ice.
00:32:26He's there for the first out.
00:32:27And we go down to that Brewers' dugout.
00:32:29Tom Verducci with Garrett Mitchell.
00:32:32Garrett Mitchell, you were down 0-2 to Tanner Scott, and you won the at-bat with a tie-breaking
00:32:37home run.
00:32:38How did you do it?
00:32:39Just trying to put together a quality at-bat there, leading off the inning, just trying to get on base
00:32:43and pass it on to the next guy.
00:32:45Garrett, you're a SoCal kid to do this here at Dodger Stadium.
00:32:48Given what's at stake tonight, what does this moment mean to you?
00:32:52Not thinking too much about the mower right now.
00:32:54Still got a lot of ballgame left, so try to finish it out here strong.
00:32:57Thanks so much, Garrett.
00:32:58Yeah, thank you.
00:32:59He already clinched the division series by robbing a home run as he won the pennant by hitting one.
00:33:09Terang shoots at foul and it's 0-2.
00:33:12Terang shoots at foul and it's 0-2.
00:33:27Fly towards the left field corner.
00:33:29That'll fade and become a souvenir.
00:33:31And Pat Murphy's able to steal four scoreless innings from May and Romero after the homerun to Otani.
00:33:38He's got nine outs to get.
00:33:39He's got Ashby and McGill ready.
00:33:43I don't know how many other people are shaking their head, but it's got to be one of those.
00:33:48I can't believe what I've just seen.
00:33:56LHC League Award for Philanthropic Excellence celebrates the impact MLB clubs are making off of the field.

00:34:11This is the anniversary of the Gibson home run and I can't believe what I just saw in this ballpark
00:34:18in 88. Pauline Contreras.
00:34:23I mean the playoffs provides moments, right? Moments for guys to be heroes. Moments for that not to go so
00:34:29well.
00:34:30But what's so surprising without taking away the tremendous credit you've got to give Milwaukee is that
00:34:37two-time defending champs are doing things that you can't believe and that's what's surprising.
00:34:44So when they jumped out to the 4-0 lead, they're like, okay, that's what they needed.
00:34:49That'll wake them up. Haven't scored since and they're losing.
00:34:59Casting.
00:35:00He looks just as good as he did against Atlanta.
00:35:03Wondered if there'd be any kind of rust there.
00:35:04Hadn't pitched in more than a week.
00:35:07Yeah, you're right.
00:35:07He hasn't been out there at all.
00:35:33Looking for a 1, 2, 3, 7, home to Contreras, grounded a field in Muncie.
00:35:407th inning stretch in game 4.
00:35:42Milwaukee 5, Los Angeles 4.

00:35:54Yeah, this is the roller coaster.

00:36:108, 9, and 1 for the Dodgers.
00:36:12And here he is.
00:36:13It's Aaron Ashby.
00:36:159 and 1 3rd in the postseason.
00:36:16No runs.
00:36:20First one to Poges.
00:36:22Inside ball one.
00:36:23Well, he's done it with a great sinker that he's commanding and in the strike zone and that over-the
00:36:28-top breaking ball.
00:36:30Just an incredible run that he has been on this entire year.
00:36:362-0 on Paz.
00:36:38This is a guy who in 2022 was 2-10 as a swingman.
00:36:43And then he underwent shoulder surgery.
00:36:45Out of sight, out of mind.
00:36:46If you've got a 2-10 record coming off shoulder surgery,
00:36:49people aren't real excited about you.
00:36:55Paz does center field.
00:36:56That's a base hit.
00:36:57That scoops to the wall.
00:36:58Добро пожаловать в Добро пожаловать в Кирилл.
00:37:31Добро пожаловать в Кирилл.

00:38:09Добро пожаловать в Кирилл.
00:38:38Субтитры делал DimaTorzok.
00:38:44You can see right there Otani pulling out just a little bit with that shoulder how he missed
00:38:50that pitch right there the pitches that he's hit even with that approach you can hit
00:38:55the inner half part you cannot hit the away pitch if that's your first move towards first
00:39:00base.
00:39:08And that's just that's just simple pitching one on one if you can't hit the pitch right
00:39:15there when you're in a position to make it happen that same pitch right there pulling off
00:39:21of it and then doing everything you can to put it in play.
00:39:28But the Mookie Betts in the dirt smothered by Contreras you said earlier tonight it's got
00:39:36to be Mookie Betts.
00:39:38The Dodgers are going to keep on playing it has to be he's looked so good in the beginning
00:39:43of these playoffs and and just hasn't had that signature moment where he gets this big hit
00:39:56and I'm not so sure in this count being 2 and 0 and a Contreras meeting at the mountains really
00:40:02really good.
00:40:03You wouldn't normally say this when you would rather pitch to Freddie Freeman because Freddie's
00:40:10Freddie.
00:40:10Freddie but in this postseason the last 15 to 16 at bats have not gone his way either.
00:40:18A quick word from Capital One.
00:40:23Let's take a look at Capital One checking accounts.
00:40:26We're talking no fees no minimums just one question.
00:40:30What's in your wallet?
00:40:32So how aggressive does Aaron Ashby want to be here?
00:40:35Tying run 90 feet away two gone seventh inning.
00:40:45That's got a strike.
00:40:46Grounded up to short for Pratt.
00:40:48His throw is perfect.
00:40:49The Dodgers waste the leadoff double.
00:40:52Aaron Ashby stone cold gets out of it with Milwaukee still in front.
00:40:57No nothing can break.
00:40:59No nothing can break me down.
00:41:02ALCS continues tomorrow.
00:41:04Weather permitting game for Rays and Guardians on TBS.
00:41:07And if the Dodgers can come back we'd have a game five right here.
00:41:10830 Eastern 530 Pacific on FS1.
00:41:131-2-3-7 for Diaz.
00:41:15Stays on here for the heart of the Brewers lineup.
00:41:18Bowers, Jelich and Mitchell.
00:41:20Three runs knocked in for Bowers today.
00:41:22Two run double to get the scoring started in the fourth and the bases loaded walk to tie it in
00:41:27the fifth.
00:41:27The Brewers hang on.
00:41:29It's going to be hard to choose an MVP.
00:41:31Yeah.
00:41:31Yeah, he's the.
00:41:33I'd say he's a nice front runner with the guy on the mound.
00:41:39I just completed that inning.
00:41:42Close second.
00:41:44Ashby getting ready to go back out there for a second inning of work.
00:41:47Freeman Smith and Tucker do up for LA.
00:41:52Joss misses for that fastball.
00:42:07In the air to left field.
00:42:08Tasker Hernandez under it.
00:42:11The first out of the eighth.
00:42:13Team leaders are sponsored by Starlink.
00:42:16Giving you some of those candidates for MVP.
00:42:19Ashby four and two-thirds in the series.
00:42:21Just the one hit.
00:42:22That leadoff double from Pajes that he's able to pitch around.
00:42:25Bowers is knocked in six.
00:42:27And Garrett Mitchell's gone deep in back-to-back games.
00:42:29It's his solo shot in the sixth inning tonight.
00:42:31The difference at this point.
00:42:34One away.
00:42:36And up comes Christian Yellich.
00:42:39We're talking about Ashby.
00:42:41They're going two and 10 in 2022.
00:42:43And then going away for a year because of the shoulder surgery.
00:42:46Pat Murphy took over in 24.
00:42:48And he said he remembers sitting in his office at spring training.
00:42:51Looking out his window and thinking.
00:42:53The fantasy campers are still here.
00:42:58Turns out it was Aaron Ashby.
00:43:00He said he looked so bad.
00:43:02Pat Murphy said that guy will never pitch for us.
00:43:05Looking like that.
00:43:07Got better in a hurry though.
00:43:09Said maturation as a pitcher maturation as a man.
00:43:13Strike out of Yelich.
00:43:14Two gone in the eight.
00:43:16Two and 10 to a fantasy camper look alike.
00:43:20So maybe a championship series MVP.
00:43:23It's been amazing.
00:43:30Mitchell.
00:43:43Competing cases for MVP and competing stories for most impressive.
00:43:47Can he give me the details on what Mitchell's gone through.
00:43:51Type one diabetes and then all the injuries he's had through the years.
00:43:55Laces aligner to center.
00:43:57The top of the.
00:43:58The eighth.
00:44:00Edwin Diaz has retired all six that he's faced with some help from his defense right here.
00:44:05Three, four and five for the Dodgers coming up.
00:44:11Bring it back with Fox Foresight.
00:44:13Built with Gemini on Google Cloud.
00:44:15Given the Dodgers a 32% chance to score six plus runs down five to four.
00:44:21Thanks to Google Cloud for these insights.
00:44:24Freddie Freeman so many times has saved the Dodgers.
00:44:27Not looked like himself in these playoffs though.
00:44:30One for 18 in this championship series.
00:44:37Aaron Ashby.
00:44:39Back to work.
00:44:42Strike one.
00:44:45Third time that Freeman seen Ashby in this series.
00:44:52McGill getting ready.
00:45:00He's out of the way.
00:45:01Born a strike.
00:45:01Well the two seamers.
00:45:03Keep pounding the.
00:45:05Los Angeles Dodgers.
00:45:07With a lot of them.
00:45:08And it had some success.
00:45:10Tonight.
00:45:11But for the most part they've kept him at bay.
00:45:13We talked about that contact in the zone and the average in the zone.
00:45:19Fly ball left center field.
00:45:20Cheerio going back.
00:45:23The first out of the eighth.
00:45:26Game summary sponsored by AT&T.
00:45:29Ohtani hit a three run home run.
00:45:31His first one in almost two months.
00:45:33To make it four to nothing Dodgers.
00:45:35But the Brewers with two in the fourth.
00:45:37Then two in the fifth.
00:45:38And one in the sixth on a Mitchell home run against Tanner Scott.
00:45:42To go from down four to two ahead five four.
00:45:46They are five outs away from the pennant.
00:45:50Will Smith.
00:45:55Takes a high strike.
00:45:57One challenge left for the Dodgers.
00:46:03Brewers in this situation in 2026.
00:46:06102 and five.
00:46:08And they have the lead entering the eighth.
00:46:13Or later.
00:46:15We're talking about the fastballs they've attacked with.
00:46:19One more of those sinker.
00:46:20Everybody that comes in has got one of them.
00:46:25Hardest throwing staff.
00:46:27On record.
00:46:28Averaging 97 with their fastballs in this series.
00:46:32And in a day and age where everybody's throwing the fastball less.
00:46:35They're throwing it more and more.
00:46:37More than 60 percent of their pitches in this series have been fastballs.
00:46:42Going after baseball's oldest lineup.
00:46:46To one to Smith.
00:46:48Two and two.
00:46:53In a lot of ways they felt like the perfect.
00:46:56Pitching staff.
00:46:57To neutralize the Dodgers.
00:47:00What a great.
00:47:02Pitching coach name.
00:47:04Chris.
00:47:05Yeah.
00:47:07It's like the pitcher Grant Balfour.
00:47:09Yeah.
00:47:14Tied around at the plate in the eighth.
00:47:16Smith.
00:47:16Takes just outside a challenge from Contreras.
00:47:20Looks like he's going to lose this one.
00:47:22He's been successful more often than not in this series.
00:47:26Just outside.
00:47:28And it's three and two.
00:47:38The opponents are all for their last thirty four.
00:47:42Against Aaron Ashby with two strikes.
00:47:48Down the line.
00:47:50Smith breaks that up and scoots it into the corner.
00:47:53It gets away from Freeland.
00:47:55Smith sees it and takes third.
00:47:57Tying run 90 feet away in the eighth.
00:48:17That's just great piece of hitting right here and in that corner gets real confusing.
00:48:22Gets underneath that tray.
00:48:24Going to play hockey goalie and you can't really know where it's going to come off that wall.
00:48:28And the best approach in the lineup is this guy.
00:48:33In the dirt.
00:48:35Stopped by Contreras.
00:48:36This guy's Kyle Tucker.
00:48:38Two for three today.
00:48:40Three forty six for the playoffs.
00:49:04Off the hands.
00:49:06Shadow center field.
00:49:07On comes Mitchell.
00:49:08There it is.
00:49:09Mitchell to make the catch.
00:49:10As good as a strikeout for Ashby.
00:49:13No chance for Will Smith to advance.
00:49:20Wow.
00:49:24This is closing speed.
00:49:27Yes the ball is up there a good ways but nothing really Will Smith can do.
00:49:36Second and in a row the Dodgers have had a man at third and one out.
00:49:48It looks like that sinker tied them up in.
00:49:54It did just enough.
00:49:56Just enough movement to get it off the barrel, the bat.

00:53:59against the Yankees, they were
00:54:00down five to nothing.
00:54:01Remember they came back turned
00:54:02that game around in the fifth.
00:54:04That's where this dynasty sort
00:54:06of began.
00:54:08There's some cruel irony brewing

00:55:15David Hamilton.
00:55:18One of a number of guys that's had a key moment in this game.
00:55:21RBI hit back in the fifth inning after the steal from Freelich.
00:55:26Brought him to within one.
00:55:28And he comes to score the tight run.
00:55:30And the bases are to walk from Bowers.

00:55:45He put it in the field.
00:55:46David Hamilton goes yard.
00:55:52Something special about these Milwaukee Brewers.
00:56:06Four home runs all year.
00:56:09Pits run a ton right here.
00:56:11And doubles the lead in the ninth.
00:56:18I mean.
00:56:22This was smoked.
00:56:27As if he's done it a bunch.
00:56:3218 homers in four years in the major leagues for Hamilton.
00:56:36He is that ball like.
00:56:38The 30 home run guy.
00:56:40Not a 30 stolen base guy.
00:56:45No challenges remaining.
00:56:48Dodgers out of challenges right now.
00:56:52Call on Jackson Cheerio 1 and 0.
00:57:01A.L. pennant in 82.
00:57:03Came to the National League.
00:57:051998.
00:57:06Haven't won a pennant since.
00:57:0957 season of Brewers baseball.
00:57:12One of the five teams without a ring.
00:57:17Got another one alive in the American League.
00:57:19In the Tampa Bay Rays.
00:57:21Team they're playing.
00:57:22And the Guardians haven't won it since 1948.
00:57:26Both ends of the spectrum.
00:57:27Representative.
00:57:28The final four here.
00:57:30You've got teams long starved.
00:57:31Some of them that never tasted at all.
00:57:34Against the behemoth.
00:57:36The powerhouse.
00:57:37The two-time defending champ.
00:57:39Down to its last three outs.
00:57:45Longest droughts.
00:57:47Brewers back to 82.
00:57:48Orioles haven't been since 83.
00:57:51Mariners are that close to going for the first time last year.
00:58:01Stay tuned for the postgame show on FS1 presented by HPE.
00:58:09Out homering the Dodgers 7-0 with that Hamilton blast.
00:58:157-1, beg your pardon.
00:58:17The Otani shot earlier.
00:58:22Diaz fires 2-2.
00:58:24Got a chase for strike three.
00:58:26But a home run from David Hamilton.
00:58:28Has made it 6-4 Milwaukee.
00:58:31Fasten those seatbelts.
00:58:33Last chance for the back-to-back champs.
00:58:35Bottom of the order coming up.
00:58:37Would it be McGill?
00:58:38Would it be Ashby for another hitter?
00:58:43Party, Los Angeles.
00:58:45Your Dodgers have won the World Series.
00:58:49Beat the champ.
00:58:51You've got to knock him out.
00:58:52The Dodgers smack the back titles.
00:59:00Dodgers down to their last three outs
00:59:02to try and keep the three-peat hopes alive.
00:59:05Bottom of the order is due up here.
00:59:08Looks like Tommy Edmond is going to pinch hit
00:59:10for Max Muncy.
00:59:12So the switch hitter heads up there to bat right-handed
00:59:14and it is Aaron Ashby staying in.
00:59:16Clear profile sponsored by Liberty Mutual.
00:59:21The Brewers pitching, really the bullpen for the Brewers
00:59:24has played the role of the Dodgers starters
00:59:26from last year's sweep.
00:59:27Dodgers starters just absolutely dominated
00:59:29in the four-game sweep this year.
00:59:31The Brewers got a 1-3-6 ERA.
00:59:34And needing three outs to get him back to the fall class.
00:59:37Yeah, it looks like this would be one hitter maybe for
00:59:41Ashby.
00:59:41What's been an incredible job.
00:59:47I think Edmond has been swinging underneath the breaking ball.
00:59:51That's why he saw the first pitch breaking ball there
00:59:54from Ashby.
00:59:57Edmond just won for 13 in the playoffs.
00:59:59He's ahead 2-0 here.
01:00:02Much better from this side of the plate.
01:00:06Pa has Kike Hernandez do up.
01:00:16He's going to race the 3-0 deficit.
01:00:21The 0-4 Red Sox went into the bottom of the ninth inning.
01:00:24Trailing Mariano Rivera tied it up there.
01:00:28One or two innings later.
01:00:31Dodgers need two, though, after the homer from Hamilton.
01:00:35Edmond on 2-1.
01:00:36Swings and misses.
01:00:372-2.
01:01:00takes a curve in the dirt and the count goes full.
01:01:05Ashby's one out of the way from having pretty much a complete game shutout
01:01:10in this series.
01:01:12Eight and two-thirds scoreless innings.
01:01:17His payoff to Edmond.
01:01:20Foul back.
01:01:21He's one out of the way, and if his team wins this game
01:01:24from never having to buy a meal in Milwaukee, I'm going to think.
01:01:34Edmond Pinch shooting for Muncie, starting the ninth.
01:01:38Ground ball sharp and a short pick by Pratt.
01:01:40Fires across Milwaukee's two outs away.
01:01:45Nine scoreless innings in the championship series for Aaron Ashby.
01:01:52Pat Murphy's letting it ride.
01:01:59That ball was smoked, but good job by Pratt.
01:02:03He's got a cannon.
01:02:11Pajos.
01:02:13Cairns in for a strike.
01:02:16Cairns in for a strike.
01:02:46Two and a third in the books for Ashby.
01:02:49A little more stressed than he's been used to.
01:02:51Getting out of the situations in the seventh and the eighth,
01:02:54stranding a man at third.
01:02:570-2 pitch.
01:03:03Pajos trying to reach.
01:03:04Kike Hernandez to the plate as the tying run.
01:03:07After Hernandez, it's Ohtani.
01:03:13Dodgers need a base runner to get it there.
01:03:18Ashby's 1-2.
01:03:20Strike three.
01:03:21Two gone.
01:03:28Talk about last now's curveball.
01:03:30Well,
01:03:32that's free.
01:03:33Ashby doesn't have to take a backseat to anybody's curveball.
01:03:35This is just buckle city when you see it from the top to the bottom.
01:03:45Hernandez, the last show.
01:03:49Right down the middle with a fastball.
01:04:02Strike two on Hernandez.
01:04:06A strike away from finishing this game,
01:04:09finishing this series in the most brewer way possible.
01:04:12from down four to nothing to take a 6-4 lead
01:04:16and then hand it to this lights-out bullpen to try and finish it off.
01:04:24Hernandez to left center field.
01:04:26Sherry gets there.
01:04:27And for the first time in 44 years,
01:04:31the Brewers are going to the World Series.
01:04:57And that's what he did to do.
01:05:01Chill out.
01:05:06Come on, man.
01:05:07You got it.
01:05:09Cool.
01:05:20Субтитры сделал DimaTorzok
01:05:39The first time since 1982 the
01:05:42pennant flies in Milwaukee.
01:05:49It's incredible. I mean.
01:05:54People in Milwaukee have watched
01:05:55this all year. I don't know in
01:05:57their wildest dreams if they
01:05:58could have predicted.
01:06:01A sweep they may have predicted
01:06:03a win but man.
01:06:15Certainly was belief coming into
01:06:17the series that it could be
01:06:18different. Even confidence that
01:06:20they were ready for it to be
01:06:22totally different.
01:06:24There's no way if you ask anybody
01:06:26even inside those clubhouse walls
01:06:28there was a chance at this at a
01:06:30clean sweep. It's never happened.
01:06:32A team has never been swept by one
01:06:34club one year and then returned the
01:06:36favor the Nets. There's a lot of
01:06:38things these brewers are doing
01:06:39though that you're not supposed to
01:06:41be able to do.
01:06:43And they're doing it over and over
01:06:44and make it a look routine.
01:06:46They gained a lot of experience
01:06:47last year. They were out of gas.
01:06:48Right. They came in here. They got
01:06:50swept. But I think they really
01:06:51learned going into spring training
01:06:53especially that man Mizorowski and
01:06:54the maturation of his pitching.
01:06:56And they believed first and
01:06:58foremost they're not out of gas.
01:06:59They have a really really good
01:07:00pitching staff.
01:07:01They have a tenacious offense that
01:07:03even though there was a lot more
01:07:05strikeouts than we're used to
01:07:06seeing they commanded the strike
01:07:08zone and when they got the angle
01:07:10of their attack was way better
01:07:12than the Dodgers angle of attack
01:07:15and it paid off when they got
01:07:17their hits.
01:07:20And pick your hero for this series
01:07:22for Milwaukee saw Pat Murphy
01:07:24embraces captain Christian
01:07:26Yellich.
01:07:27Maybe he's your guy being the one
01:07:29who kind of helped turn this
01:07:31franchise the trade over here.
01:07:32Maybe it's Jackson Cheerios lead
01:07:34off home run in the very first
01:07:35pitch setting the tone in the
01:07:37first game here in L.A.
01:07:39Contreras the big games in
01:07:40Milwaukee.
01:07:41Jake Bowers he gets my vote for
01:07:43MVP.
01:07:44The incredible at bats.
01:07:46The game tying walk today.
01:07:48Or how about the guy with Ken
01:07:49Rosenthal Aaron Ashby went the
01:07:51final three innings of game four.
01:07:53Thanks Joe.
01:07:54Aaron you go into the World
01:07:56Series.
01:07:57Three scoreless innings to close
01:07:59it twice you stranded the tying run
01:08:01on third base with less than two
01:08:02outs.
01:08:03In those situations what were you
01:08:06telling yourself?
01:08:08Gosh I think I was just praying
01:08:09for a little peace and the chaos
01:08:11because it's with this crowd this
01:08:13team things can happen fast and so
01:08:16I guess just trying to be calm and
01:08:20felt a lot of peace out there.
01:08:21I don't know.
01:08:22Yeah that was pretty much it.
01:08:24Aaron I don't know that anyone
01:08:26predicted a sweep.
01:08:27How much did what happened last
01:08:29year in the NLCS you guys getting
01:08:31swept motivate you here?
01:08:33Yeah I think we kind of just knew
01:08:36what to expect.
01:08:37We knew that they were going to play
01:08:39us hard playing with that chip on
01:08:41our shoulder and it was like you
01:08:45don't ever know what to expect going
01:08:46into a series like that last year.
01:08:49You don't know how bad it can be and
01:08:51then it was as bad as it was and we
01:08:54came out and we survived and we
01:08:55came back this year and those guys
01:08:58played their tails off and we're
01:09:01just you know I would die for any of
01:09:03these dudes man.
01:09:04It's unbelievable.
01:09:04This team's awesome.
01:09:05Aaron congratulations.
01:09:06Thank you.
01:09:07Now over to Tom Verducci.
01:09:08Thank you.
01:09:08Oh thanks Ken.
01:09:09Christian Yelich I believe you can
01:09:10appreciate what I'm about to say as
01:09:12much as anybody in the organization
01:09:14the Brewers are going to the World
01:09:16Series for the first time in 44
01:09:18years what does it mean to this
01:09:20organization and the people of
01:09:22Milwaukee.
01:09:22Yeah I mean we're just happy for
01:09:24for our fans for everybody that's
01:09:26been a part of this organization
01:09:27and stuck with us over the years
01:09:29we've come close a bunch of times
01:09:31to get into this point obviously
01:09:32like we still got a ways to go we
01:09:34still got some big games in front
01:09:36of us but we've been so close to
01:09:38you know this point so many times
01:09:40and to finally break through just a
01:09:42credit to our guys our team they
01:09:45just stuck together in battle we
01:09:46got down early tonight and we're
01:09:48like it's gonna be a great story
01:09:49when we come back and win this
01:09:50like stay together start chipping
01:09:51away and that's exactly what they
01:09:53did.
01:09:53Well explain that because the
01:09:55Dodgers had six leads in this
01:09:57series and this team overcame
01:09:59every one of them.
01:10:00Yeah.
01:10:00How do you do it?
01:10:02We talked about it before the
01:10:03postseason started like it's gonna
01:10:04take resilience it's gonna take
01:10:06responding it's gonna take
01:10:07sticking together and just playing
01:10:09our brand of baseball and
01:10:11believing in each other picking
01:10:12up your teammates and that's
01:10:14exactly what we did and it's a
01:10:16really close group that relies on
01:10:18each other and I'm just so proud
01:10:20of them they went out and just
01:10:22did such a great job tonight and
01:10:24by the way captain for you after
01:10:26more than seventeen hundred games
01:10:28in the major leagues you are
01:10:30going to the World Series.
01:10:31Yeah it's an unbelievable feeling
01:10:33it's something that you dream
01:10:34about as a kid and man like what
01:10:36what a feeling it's still like
01:10:37taking it all in and you know
01:10:40like I said if we haven't we
01:10:41haven't accomplished our ultimate
01:10:42goal yet so we got to we got to
01:10:44enjoy this tonight but obviously
01:10:46refocus coming up and you know
01:10:48get ready for the World Series.
01:10:49Congratulations we'll see you in
01:10:51the World Series.
01:10:51Thank you looking forward to it.
01:10:53The face of this era of Brewers
01:10:54Baseball and now his face is on
01:10:56the team's return to the World
01:10:58Series for the first time as a
01:11:00National League representative.
01:11:03They'll take on the winner of the
01:11:04Guardians and the Rays and you're
01:11:06gonna have either two teams
01:11:07looking for their first
01:11:08championship or one of them
01:11:10looking for their first title and
01:11:11the other and looking for their
01:11:12first one in forever six to four the
01:11:16final here in game for the Brewers.
