00:09Control the display of a feature line within a drawing and impact how feature lines interact.
00:16You can easily create and edit feature line styles for your project using the Toolspace.
00:23To view the available feature line styles for your drawing in Toolspace, on the Settings tab, expand General Multipurpose Styles
00:34Feature Line Styles.
00:36From here, you can create a new style or edit an existing style.
00:42To edit a style, simply right-click the style and choose Edit, Copy, Find References, Replace With, or Refresh.
00:53To create a new style, right-click Feature Line Styles and select New.
01:00In the Feature Line Style dialog box, type a name such as HWE for High Water Elevation and optionally, add
01:11a description.
01:12Open the Profile tab and under Object Display, you can adjust the beginning, internal, and ending vertex marker styles.
01:21In this case, select Standard for each vertex.
01:26Next to the beginning vertex, expand the Style Options drop-down and select Edit Current Selection.
01:35In the Marker Style dialog box for this example, in the Marker tab, click the X.
01:43Under Size, set the value to 0.05 inches and review the options, leaving Use Drawing Scale selected.
01:52Also, select the square and deselect the circle.
01:59On the Display tab, under Component Display, verify the color.
02:04In this case, keep Magenta.
02:07The Display Options currently apply to the Plan view, but you can expand the View Direction drop-down to change
02:15the style in a different view if needed.
02:18Click OK.
02:20Back in the Feature Line Style dialog, click the Section tab to select a crossing marker style.
02:28In this case, leave Standard selected.
02:32Select the Display tab to determine how you want a feature line using this style to display.
02:39For this example, you can apply the new style to the Storm Pond in the drawing.
02:45The outer line is the top of the pond, the inner line is the bottom, and the middle line is
02:53the high-water mark.
02:54The HWE style being created will be applied to this middle line to show it differently.
03:02Under Component Display, in the Visible column, click the icon to turn visibility on or off.
03:10Click the color, and in the Select Color dialog, choose a color.
03:15In this case, select Green, and then click OK.

03:39You have now created a new HWE style.
03:43To apply the new style, in the drawing, select the middle line of the Storm Pond.
03:50In Properties, on the Design tab, expand the Style drop-down and select HWE.
03:58Zoom in to see the style applied to the middle line.
