00:29I'll see you next time
00:37A young centipede called Cyril by name
00:41Had 100 legs, all exactly the same
00:45100 legs is rather a lot
00:48It's certainly more than most insects have got
00:51But Cyril was happy climbing up trees
00:55With his 100 feet under 100 knees
00:59And wherever he went, in case of disasters
01:02He carried a tin of 100 plasters
01:06His 100 socks he kept nice and clean
01:10He had 100 spares in his washing machine
01:13His 100 shoes he polished each night
01:17Then put them in pairs, the left with the right
01:22Cyril worked very hard
01:24But what he liked best was to put up his feet and have a good rest
01:30Then he'd count all his legs at the end of each day
01:34To make sure that none had dropped off on the way
01:37Well, one sunny evening
01:40His friend Sally the squirrel
01:42Popped in for a chat and said
01:45Hello Cyril
01:46Hang on, he replied to his furry-tailed friend
01:50I'm counting my legs
01:52I'm nearing the end
01:53Ninety-eight
01:54Ninety-nine
01:57Cyril stopped in despair
01:59There, leg number 100
02:01It just wasn't there
02:02I've lost one
02:04Cried Cyril
02:06It's just as I feared
02:08Leg number 100 has just disappeared
02:11Are you certain?
02:13Asked Sally
02:14Try counting once more
02:16But Cyril had left without shutting the door
02:21He crawled and he climbed
02:23He searched through the night
02:25But leg number 100 had vanished from sight
02:31Don't worry, said Sally
02:33Won't ninety-nine do?
02:35I get along fine
02:37And I've only got two
02:38But I need 100
02:41100 I need
02:42Where I can't call myself a true centipede
02:48So he went to see Woodlouse
02:50Who lived in a tree
02:51And made things from wood
02:54Without charging a fee
02:55On his ninety-nine knees
02:58Cyril started to beg
03:00Please, will you make me a new wooden leg?
03:04I might
03:06Said the Woodlouse
03:07And then I might not
03:10Can't you make do with the ones that you got?
03:14Please, pleaded Cyril
03:15100 I need
03:18Where I can't call myself a true centipede
03:22So the Woodlouse
03:25He made him a small wooden stump
03:29And the centipede left
03:31Going ninety-nine thump
03:34For the rest of the day
03:35Cyril hobbled around
03:37And he did all his jobs
03:39To that strange wooden sound
03:43And when he had finished
03:44He sat in his chair
03:46And counted his legs
03:47To make sure all were there
03:50But to Cyril's surprise
03:52When the counting was done
03:54His legs now totaled
03:56One hundred and one
03:58My leg, it's come back!
04:01Cyril shouted with glee
04:02And he called his friend Sally
04:05To come round and see
04:06But Sally knew better
04:08Your counting was wrong
04:11Leg number one hundred
04:13Was there all along
04:14Well, the centipede laughed
04:17Till he fell off his chair
04:20Then he lay down
04:21And waved all his legs
04:23In the air
04:24And from that moment on
04:26He took Sally's advice
04:29Now every evening
04:31He counts his legs twice
04:35He counts his legs
04:37And he counts his legs
04:41And he counts his legs
04:45And he counts his legs
04:46And he counts his legs
04:47And he counts his legs
04:47And he counts his legs
04:52And he counts his legs
04:52And he counts his legs
04:52And he counts his legs
04:52And he counts his legs
04:56And he counts his legs
