00:00The following contest, scheduled for one fall.
00:04It's for the World Wrestling Federation Championship.
00:14Coming down the aisle with Mr. Fuji is the challenger.
00:21Weighing 505 pounds, Yokozuna.
00:28It would seem that the odds would be so, so much in the favor of that man.
00:34You know something funny?
00:36Just as Yokozuna walked out to the ring, the clouds have come over Caesars.
00:42That tells me something.
00:44That tells me the hitman is in very, very serious trouble.
00:48There's a black cloud all right.
00:50The hitman's already had a big day.
00:52He started by getting knocked out by the infamous now narcissist earlier.
00:59Yes, he has.
01:00I wonder if there's any damage done.
01:01Does he have a black eye, a broken nose?
01:03I don't know.
01:04I'll tell you one thing.
01:06Hulk Hogan had a bad day already too.
01:07The odds makers here in Vegas have Yokozuna as the heavy favorite, we are told, for this championship event.
01:14And now this, this is this ovation.
01:17His opponent, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
01:21From one of the great sports families of our time.
01:24The World Wrestling Federation Champion.
01:28The Wrestling Hart Family from Calgary, Alberta.
01:33And there's the hitman.
01:34And it has been a hellacious week for that young man.
01:37For the contract signing that we saw on television.
01:40For the altercation with Lex Luger this morning at the WrestleMania brunch.
01:46But he is here.
01:47He is ready to fight.
01:48Let me tell you something about the Hitman.
01:50R-E-S-B-E-C-T.
01:52I got respect for the pink and black.
01:54And that's Bret the Hitman Hart.
01:57A World Wrestling Federation Champion that everybody can be proud of.
02:01He's here, he's ready, and he's going against the toughest challenger possibly ever.
02:08The fans here, 16,000 plus, pumped up and ready to go for this one.
02:13Whether you're watching it on pay per view, around the world, or listening to it on radio,
02:19what a moment it is now.
02:22The championship on the line.
02:24We're ready to get it on here.
02:26Yokozuna has not once looked in any direction.
02:30He has focused on the moment.
02:32The moment is this.
02:33He can become a national hero in the country of Japan.
02:38He's not gonna let this opportunity slip by.
02:40What a match up.
02:44That belt means so much to Bret the Hitman Hart.
02:47And watch this.
02:48I love when he does this.
02:50That's exactly right.
02:51He's trying to buy fans.
02:53No, he's not.
02:54He really means it, brother.
02:55He's a great family man.
02:57He's a great athlete, no doubt about it.
03:00Well, you know Bobby Aesop said don't count your tickets before they hatch.
03:03He said that I'm sure you know in 550 BC.
03:06Who's Aesop?
03:07The guy who was down the road from you?
03:09No, it's Aesop.
03:11Yokozuna versus Bret the Hitman Hart.
03:14What's it stank?
03:15The World Wrestling Federation Championship belt.
03:18Brother, that's everything.
03:20That is it.
03:22That's better than a World Series ring.
03:24Better than a Super Bowl ring.
03:25Guaranteed.
03:26Guaranteed.
03:26You've had it twice.
03:27You know what it's about.
03:28I've had it twice, brother.
03:30It's the best that has happened.
03:32And this is it.
03:34Bret the Hitman.
03:34There it is.
03:35Respect.
03:37That's it.
03:38The people know it.
03:40Aretha sung it.
03:42Bret Hart lives it every day of his life.
03:44One of 11 children.
03:46Warren DeStew and Ellen Hart is that young man.
03:49Second generation.
03:50His daddy is proud.
03:52And you know you've had 11 in the first litter?
03:54That was terrible.
03:57What do you expect?
03:57I'm not even gonna dignify that with a remark.
03:59The bell has rung.
04:01The match is underway.
04:02We've been waiting for it.
04:04This is it.
04:05WrestleMania 9.
04:07Boy, look at that.
04:08Unbelievable.
04:09What a view that is.
04:10Talk about Defy Master.
04:12Wow.
04:13Talk about Bret Hart being a second generation wrestler.
04:15His grandfather was a member of the 1912 US Olympic team.
04:19So he comes from a long line of great competitors.
04:23The exit of execution.
04:25Running Dropkick.
04:26Takes a big man back into the corner.
04:28Right hands.
04:28The champion starting up very quickly.
04:30Right up on the second row.
04:31And hammers away at the 500 and five pound challenger.
04:36Look at that.
04:37Frank, Yokozuna shoved him right off the top, the second rope rather.
04:41You know what strategy this is?
04:43He came right at Yokozuna.
04:45Big shot by Yokozuna.
04:47It's gonna be an uphill climb, but if anybody can do it, the Hitman can.
04:50Can't even get his hands around him.
04:52Trying to go behind.
04:52Can not get his hands around him.
04:53He tried.
04:54He tried.
04:55That's the important thing.
04:57Yokozuna ran right through Hart with that tackle.
05:00Bret Hart tried to go behind Yokozuna, was successful there, but
05:03he couldn't put his arms around in a waistline.
05:04I'll tell you what, Yokozuna doesn't wanna win by a count out because he won't
05:07get the World Wrestling Federation Championship belt.
05:09I don't know if he's smart enough to realize it.
05:11Yes, he is.
05:11He's coming out after.
05:12Hart tried to come in the ring.
05:14Hitman was coming in, you're right.
05:17It's gonna take more than that to beat the Hitman.
05:20Yokozuna kicking through the ropes, and Bret Hart trying to time Yokozuna's leg.
05:27The whole place shook.
05:29Hit him.
05:29Down goes Yokozuna.
05:31Hart catapults over the wide rope, right in his face, with a fist, right hand.
05:36Cover him for a pin.
05:37You can't, he's in the ropes, his foot's tangled up.
05:39You're right, you're right.
05:40Yes, I am right in the brain.
05:42Yokozuna, feet tied up between the second and bottom rope there.
05:46That can tear your knee out real easy.
05:48And with him in that position, Bret Hart a number on it, right off the ropes.
05:55Another high impact blow to the giant man from the Orient.
06:01And finally, the referee is able to get Yokozuna out of those ropes.
06:08Bret Hart used the ropes to momentum, hit him with the clothesline, and it locks the big man.
06:13The longer this match goes, it's more in favor of the Hitman.
06:15A clothesline by Yokozuna.
06:18And when you get nailed by a 505 pound man, as we look at Mr. Fuji, the infamous manager of
06:25this individual, it is like getting hit.
06:27It's gotta be like getting hit by a truck.
06:29Let me tell you something, let me tell you something.
06:31I know firsthand, cuz I wrestled Yokozuna, and he ran over me, and that's why he's the challenger for the
06:38championship belt.
06:39I'm honest, I'm telling you right now.
06:41But if anybody can do it, the pink and black the Hitman can.
06:45Respect.
06:45Tremendous slam by Yokozuna, going in the ropes, and my, he dropped that big, huge thigh, and leg, and posterior,
06:55and whatever else hit him.
06:56Everything he's got, and Bret Hart has just been crushed by Nathalie.
07:03I hate to say it, you might be looking at the New World Wrestling Federation champion right there.
07:09Man, I tell you, you gotta believe, as Fuji raises, waves the Japan flag, Japanese flag,
07:15nothing would make him more proud than to take the title right back to Japan.
07:20That's gonna make this Yokozuna a national hero.
07:24And it's getting darker here at Caesars.
07:27The gods of Caesars know something, don't they?
07:30Yokozuna could join the annals of Satoharo O, the great all-time Japanese home run hitter,
07:35and immortality by winning this championship.
07:37This is it, this is the big one.
07:39The sun is slowly setting on Bret the Hitman Hart.
07:44Man, Hart on the canvas, looking up this huge man.
07:50It's his own fault, defending the title like he has, taking on all comers,
07:53defending him more than any champion.
07:55You gotta be ready for the pick.
07:57A lot of averages is against you.
07:58Sure, he's in great shape, but this man, 505 pounds, is totally awesome.
08:03He just can't be moved around.
08:05Perhaps Macho Man, if Bret Hart can just survive and hang on,
08:11and try to physically extend this big monster, maybe, just maybe,
08:15that might be the strategy that will allow him to retain the title.
08:18Every split second that goes by is precious to the Hitman, no doubt.
08:22Savage, when you were champion on two occasions,
08:25were you constantly aware of the time that had gone by in a match?
08:28Never was.
08:29You never were concerned about that?
08:31Never was, I never faced a guy like Yokozuna before.
08:34So you never concerned yourself with that?
08:35You figured you could just go out and beat him, right?
08:38I had confidence, every champion has had to have confidence to get to that point.
08:43Well, he's gonna need more than confidence here to beat Yokozuna.
08:45You're right about that.
08:46Martial Arts right back in the throat there by Yokozuna.
08:50Irish whip, Bret Hart right to the corner, and you can hear the impact.
08:53Yokozuna tried to catch him in the corner, but Hart got the feet up.
08:56Hulk Hogan and the Hulkamaniacs, no doubt watching this one.
08:59Hart on the back of Yokozuna, and he took him down.
09:02What a mess.
09:03Look, he's riding a Brahma bull.
09:05Cover him.
09:06His Hart, first ladder of pass, and he got a two count.
09:09He almost pinned Yokozuna right there.
09:11He almost did, but I don't think he can get the sharpshooter on Yokozuna.
09:15He's gonna have to get a pin.
09:17Yokozuna back up.
09:18And the martial arts kick.
09:20That's phenomenal flexibility for a 505 pound man.
09:23Looks like he took his head off.
09:25For any size man, Yokozuna is, he's just unbelievable.
09:30Look at him.
09:31And he's not even breathing heavy.
09:33He's 505 pounds.
09:35He's been in the ring now for over ten minutes, and he's not breathing heavy.
09:38Seems like he's got ice water in his veins.
09:40Bret Hart trying to get back up to a vertical base.
09:43He must, if he can, distance himself or either try to get this huge monster off his feet.
09:48And once again, that oriental nerve hole digging into the trapezius muscle.
09:53Bret Hart, Yokozuna's punishing the champion.
09:57And he's also making Hart carry some more of that weight, macho man.
10:01I give Hitman all kinds of credit right here.
10:03And just the fact that he's still in the ball game right here.
10:06Come on, Hitman.
10:08Listen to people.
10:10Bret Hart.
10:11Respect is what they're saying right there.
10:14Respect for the Hitman.
10:15I know about that.
10:17No, they're saying USA is what they're saying.
10:20See how bright they are?
10:21One guy's from Canada.
10:22The other guy's from Japan.
10:23Ooh.
10:24Arsenal are thrust again to the throat.
10:27The hand extended into the neck.
10:29Throat area, Bret Hart.
10:30Eilish with foreside.
10:32This man, he's measuring Yokozuna.
10:34This might be that.
10:35Here he comes.
10:37And he tried to splash him, but Hart moved down away.
10:39And Yokozuna got nothing but turnbuckle.
10:42Again, Hart on top.
10:43And he's bulldog.
10:44Yokozuna down.
10:45Hart's on the second row.
10:46He's bulldog.
10:47The big man down.
10:48Lateral press.
10:49Look at that.
10:51Hart, lateral press, but Yokozuna power it out.
10:54Now Hart, if he's smart, he'll keep him down.
10:56That's the only way he's gonna win it.
10:57He's got to keep Yokozuna on that man.
11:00Hart, knee drop off the second row.
11:01Haga lateral press again.
11:03Again, he got two.
11:04But Yokozuna so strong.
11:06What an effort by the Hitman.
11:09On the second rope is Bret Hart.
11:10Yokozuna walking.
11:11Hart caught him with a clothesline.
11:13That shook the big man from the area.
11:15And he got him this time down for the clothesline.
11:19The champion Bret Hart puts the towers down.
11:22But he's up again.
11:24And he's back on his feet.
11:28He's clicking the pace here.
11:30He's moving, making the big man move.
11:32No, Yokozuna hooks those legs.
11:35The Hitman is a fighting champion all the way.
11:39Trying to hold on to the turnbuckle.
11:40He pulled the turnbuckle cover off.
11:42I'll give credit to where credit is due.
11:45I thought Bret the Hitman would lay back.
11:46I thought he'd make Yokozuna run out of gas.
11:49Since the bell started, he's taking it right to him.
11:51That's probably gonna be-
11:52No, no, no, no.
11:54Top turnbuckle.
11:55All right.
11:56Yokozuna goes face first into the exposed steel of the top turnbuckle.
12:00And Bret Hart now.
12:02Sharp cheater, sharp cheater.
12:04He's going for the sharp cheater.
12:05He's gonna try to hook the sharp cheater.
12:06I'm gonna need a miracle here, boy.
12:08Can he do it?
12:09No, he can't.
12:09The signs of this man's neck.
12:11Yes, he got it.
12:12He's got it.
12:12He's got it.
12:13I don't believe it.
12:15Bret Hart's got the sharp cheater on Yokozuna.
12:22He's got the sharp cheater.
12:24He's got the sharp cheater right now.
12:27What's he doing?
12:28Man.
12:29He threw second right in his eyes and the referee could not see it.
12:32The ref did not see that.
12:34Another illusion.
12:37That's a body.
12:38Look at this.
12:39Yokozuna hooks the leg.
12:41We got a new champion.
12:42Yokozuna has won the title.
12:43We've got a new champion.
12:46Yokozuna has done it.
12:47Yes, he's a national champion now.
12:50Here comes Hal Halster.
12:51Here comes Hulk Hogan.
12:54Bret Hart, Fuji threw something right in his eyes.
12:59Yokozuna took advantage of him.
13:01And we have a new champion.
13:03Yes, we do.
13:04And I told you.
13:05I told you.
13:06Hulk Hogan here.
13:10Hogan!
13:12Hogan, you big man!
13:13Mr. Fuji.
13:14My Yokozuna!
13:17Mr. Fuji on-
13:20No!
13:20Trying to talk to-
13:21No!
13:23No!
13:23No!
13:23Mr. Fuji, we're trying to listen and pick up what he's saying here, ladies and gentlemen.
13:27My Yokozuna, issue a challenge.
13:31If any test of fortitude, you'd accept my Yokozuna's challenge.
13:35Come on!
13:37Come on!
13:37Come on, you yellow belly!
13:38Come on!
13:39So, Fuji says his Yokozuna is issuing a challenge to Hulk Hogan.
13:45But Hogan is more concerned with helping his friend Bret Hart.
13:48We need one more second.
13:50We will put on the new WWF and wake up.
13:54Right now!
14:00Come on!
14:01Let's go!
14:02Let's do it!
14:03Let's do it!
14:04Come on!
14:04Let's go!
14:04Mr. Fuji has said that he will put the WWF title on the line right now, this is a Hulkster.
14:12You're good!
14:14You're good!
14:14You're good!
14:14You're good!
14:14You're good!
14:15You're good!
14:17You're good!
14:18Bret Hart's telling Hulk to go for it!
14:21He said go for it, big man!
14:24Hulk Hogan's in the ring!
14:26Ding, ding!
14:28The crowd wants it to go for it, but they have Fuji reaching back into his kimono there.
14:34And it's got more of a song or whatever, all in the eyes of Yokozuna.
14:39Hogan knocks Fuji down.
14:41Hogan will close down, and down goes Yokozuna.
14:45Hogan backs away!
14:47Hogan to the cover!
14:48No!
14:48Hogan to the cover!
14:51No!
14:52I can't believe this!
14:54Hulk Hogan!
14:55No matter what's going on here!
14:59Hulk Hogan has won the title!
15:00The winner of this move!
15:03The winner of this move!
15:04The winner of this move!
15:05Hulk Hogan is the new WWE Champion!
15:08Hulk Hogan is the new champion!
15:10Yokozuna, I can title for three minutes!
15:13It's actually going!
15:13Hulk Hogan has won the title!
15:17Hulk Hogan has won the title for the fifth time!
15:20Hulk Hogan!
15:20What a stunning dynamic!
15:23He can't believe the belt!
15:26Hulk Hogan is a champion!
15:27Hulk is a champion!
15:29I cannot believe this!
15:31Over 16,000 here!
15:33For the fifth time, Hulk Hogan has become WWF Champion!
15:38Hulk Hogan has done it!
15:43Hogan with a blessing of Bret Hart accepted the challenge!
15:48Fuji tried to go for the salt right in Hogan's face, but he avoided it!
15:52It hit Yokozuna and the Hulkster took over!
15:55A new World Wrestling Federation Champion twice over!
16:00Yokozuna and now Hulk Hogan!
16:02Never before in the WWF!
16:05Never before in the WWF!
16:06Never before in the WWF!
16:07As the WWF title changed hands!
16:09Two times!
16:10That's two times in one night!
16:12And it is deafening here at Caesars Palace!
16:18People are going crazy!
16:20Let me get this straight!
16:22Yokozuna beat Bret Hart!
16:23He became the champion, huh?
16:26Hulk can now be Yokozuna!
16:27Let's all happen in the space of a couple of minutes!
