00:00Well, Ken, you're no stranger to pay-per-view.
00:02You've got a lot of experience in high-pressure matches.
00:05And believe me, I know that you're prepared to get in your zone.
00:10But Shawn Michaels has the experience in WWF title situation.
00:13This is your first WWF title match on pay-per-view.
00:16How are you gonna counteract Michaels' better experience?
00:19Well, it's like this.
00:20I do have a lot of experience, a lot of experience in pay-per-view fights.
00:24That's what I am, I'm a fighter.
00:26Shawn Michaels, you're a good wrestler.
00:28You have great experience and good conditioning.
00:30But I tell you this, when I get in my zone,
00:34there'll be a lot of hurting going on.
00:35And there's one thing that you can count on tonight.
00:37You will be squealing like a baby.
00:42Back to you.
00:44Wow.
01:10It was so fun that you can count on tonight.
01:17It was so awesome that you can respect your friends in a country of man that he's ,
01:24pop up like that.
01:26Please take advantage of this naissance
01:28The following contest, scheduled for one call in a one-hour tournament,
01:34is for the World Wrestling Federation Championship.
01:38Approaching the ring is the challenger from Sacramento,
01:43California, weighing 235 pounds,
01:47the world's most dangerous fan, Tim Brown.
01:54Well, there's no marketing slogan.
01:56ABC television named Shamrock, the world's most dangerous man,
02:01after seeing him compete in the ultimate fighting world.
02:03But this is not the ultimate fighting world.
02:06This is the WWF.
02:07And the top man in the WWF is the WWF champion.
02:12The incomparable Shawn Michaels.
02:16Well, Shamrock looks to be in great shape.
02:23Ladies and gentlemen, the WWF champion Shawn Michaels is standing here.
02:27And Shawn, I know that certainly recently you haven't been respecting many things,
02:33but how can you not respect Ken Shamrock?
02:37What do you mean I don't respect things, you fat tuba goo?
02:39Oops.
02:40Sorry about that.
02:42The Generation X.
02:43This is obviously our pay-per-view.
02:46Hunter couldn't even break wind with Sergeant Slaughter.
02:48Thank goodness he just farted, so he broke wind now.
02:50But the fact of the matter is, how do I deal with Ken Shamrock?
02:54It's easy.
02:55I go out there and show him why I am exactly what you just said.
02:59It was miserable for you to have to spit it out.
03:01But the number one man in the World Wrestling Federation,
03:04the number one man in this industry, is the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels.
03:08And I'm gonna show you why in just a couple of minutes.
03:10Girth Brooks, you fat tuba goo.
03:13Thanks a lot.
03:15Sure, any time.
03:15Lot of class.
03:26Get outta here!
03:30Tell me something lady.
03:43Ready to go, kids, good to go.
03:49We are there.
03:50We are rolling, let's do it.
03:54Are you ready?
04:05You think that you're better, you better get ready, move out to the masters, break it down.
04:20His opponent to be accompanied down the aisle by fellow new generation X members,
04:26Triple H and China from San Antonio, Texas, weighing 227 pounds.
04:32The WWF European Champion and
04:37the World Wrestling Federation Champion, the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels.
04:46You can tell me what to do.
04:51You know who you're talking to.
05:02Hey.
05:03What are you doing?
05:06We're doing it.
05:08No.
05:13Think I'll rock you up.
05:18Think I'll rock you up.
05:19Think I'll rock you up.
05:20Think you're a big man, mm, mm.
05:25I'll treat you like your little man.
05:36Don't tell me what it's like when we have a man.
05:39Am I working for more?
05:40Just be what I am, boy.
05:42Like a freak, boy.
05:44Yeah, like a freak, man.
05:47Break it down.
05:48The World Wrestling Federation Championship on the line momentarily.
05:52The referee of this matchup is Earl Hebner.
05:55No stranger to controversy, no stranger to the big match environment,
05:59and certainly not or is Sam Rock.
06:01A man that arguably many people feel is the toughest ultimate fighting champion of all time.
06:10I'll buy that, Ross.
06:11He may be the toughest ultimate fighter ever, but there's never anything to equal
06:16what he's gotta be feeling right now.
06:18The World Wrestling Federation title on the line.
06:22There's nothing that can equal that, JR.
06:24Our fans throughout the United States, throughout Canada, and certainly live in the United Kingdom
06:29are staying up late with us in the UK especially to see this matchup.
06:36And Michaels must be able to use his speed and experience to stay away from the power of
06:43Shamrock.
06:44And let's not overlook, yes, we know Shamrock is a submission specialist, but
06:50a Shamrock can nail the belly-to-belly suplex, King.
06:53I predict it's gonna be all over for HBK.
06:57Come on, JR.
06:57How many times do you think you think HBK has never been suplexed before?
07:02Look at this.
07:03Not by Shamrock.
07:05Not in Springfield, Massachusetts on December the 7th.
07:09Shamrock missed a close line.
07:11Misses another.
07:12And catches, whoop, Michaels up and over.
07:17Shamrock held on.
07:20Shamrock scored, what a kick, what a kick.
07:23And Shamrock just temporarily, at least, shut the mouth of the arrogant and
07:29conceited WWF champion, Mr. I Got an Attitude.
07:37Shamrock's martial arts kick caught Michaels right in the solar plexus.
07:47Right there.
07:51Right in that area, right below the pectorals, right above the whatever that is.
07:57And I would say to you, I could care less.
08:01I know you'll say it to me, but you won't say it to HBK.
08:04Well, I don't have time right now.
08:07Why would you wanna waste your breath?
08:10Shamrock, gotta stay calm and collected here.
08:12Yeah, we know when Shamrock snaps and he goes into that zone, he's an animal.
08:17But you gotta somehow maintain some sort of composure here and not let Michaels talk
08:24Shamrock into snapping.
08:26I'm so sick of hearing about zones.
08:29Let's talk about some other kind of zone.
08:31How about a no parking zone or a loading zone or what about a hospital zone, huh?
08:36That may be where Ken Shamrock winds up.
08:40Michaels with a wrist lock now trying to knot up the tricep of Shamrock.
08:46Uh-oh, Shamrock reaching for the throat.
08:49And Shamrock overpowering Michaels.
08:51Hard body shots.
08:53Tremendous shots to the body.
08:55And Shamrock feeling Michaels right out of the corner.
09:00Shamrock obviously the stronger, the more powerful of the two.
09:04Man!
09:05Michaels in another time zone.
09:07What a back body drop.
09:13Tremendous velocity.
09:14The WWF champion in big trouble here.
09:19Michaels with his sidekick, his buddy, Triple H.
09:24Answer this question for me.
09:25Okay.
09:26Why are Hemsley and Chyna, why do they have to be at least on this match?
09:31It's a Generation X, a DX thing, you know what I'm talking about?
09:34No.
09:35I knew you wouldn't.
09:37This is 1997.
09:39That's why you don't know.
09:43They're huddling now.
09:45All three of them are huddling.
09:51Michaels up.
09:52Hey, look at this.
09:54Shamrock, you gotta take, she's not the champion.
09:58Michaels is.
10:02Right hand by Shamrock.
10:08Michaels making a U-turn.
10:13Michael just spat right on Shamrock.
10:16And then Michaels peppering Shamrock with some right hands.
10:19The WWF champion up on that second row, hammering away at the world's most dangerous man.
10:24And Shamrock, high facing Michaels, and Michaels as pugnacious as he can be,
10:30right back on the attack.
10:31One, two, one.
10:33And again, Shamrock using that upper body strength.
10:37And then he caught Michaels coming in with the elbow.
10:44Well, what a body shot that was.
10:47Well, you didn't say anything about those head shots that Shawn Michaels was throwing a minute ago.
10:50Obviously about to close the eyes of Ken Shamrock.
10:53Well, you know, love Shawn Michaels or hate him, you gotta give him credit.
10:57He's done one good thing for the WWF.
10:59He's gotten rid of the entire Hart Foundation.
11:01What do you mean by that?
11:02Well, I mean, he got rid of Bret Hart.
11:04He's gotten, he's gone south, right?
11:07He's got, he's got the British Bulldog on the injured vest.
11:11He's probably never coming back.
11:13He got rid of him.
11:14Jim the Admiral Neinhardt last Monday night.
11:16Yeah.
11:16And Owen Hart cracked up, who knows where he is, Saint Asylum, something like that.
11:22I don't know.
11:23Well, can't really argue with that, King.
11:25Right.
11:27Michaels has made an impact on the entire Hart family.
11:30And many people would say that is sad to say.
11:36Michaels now getting hammered.
11:39You know, Michaels has gotta use all that speed and quickness.
11:42And again, we said earlier the experience.
11:44Look at this.
11:48We're in the wrong zone now, Shamrock.
11:50Hey, come on, go!
11:53All out of the meeting of the minds, so to speak.
11:58I think Helmsley's nose may have penetrated Michaels forehead.
12:02Look at this.
12:05Michael with the right of the eye comes back with the right hand.
12:09Michael slides underneath.
12:11He's extremely resilient.
12:13Very, very resourceful, to say the least.
12:17And the Irish whip is reversed.
12:19It goes up and over.
12:21Shamrock blocks the sunset and comes back with the right hand.
12:25Boy.
12:27With the wrong power of Ken Shamrock.
12:32Shamrock is an animal.
12:33He's calling the WWF champion.
12:42Michael's turning first in the top turnbuffer.
12:46What a kick.
12:51That'll give you a nice little ride.
12:53Maybe that'll change Michael's attitude.
13:00X marks the spot, indeed.
13:04There it is, there it is.
13:06Suplex.
13:07Michaels latches onto the referee.
13:10A low blow.
13:12Michaels with that mule kick downstairs in the zone.
13:19Look at this.
13:21He's a great athlete.
13:23Maybe the greatest athlete I have ever seen in a wrestling ring.
13:27And combine that with the fact he's the dirtiest player in the game and you got a winner.
13:30And the fact that he's got his buddies here, like Hemsley, with all those teeth shots.
13:35Yeah, that don't hurt anything either.
13:37Don't hurt nothing.
13:39Don't hurt nothing.
13:40Don't hurt nothing.
13:41Michaels up on top.
13:48Michaels with that crunch up.
13:50That hurt a cross body.
13:52I think Michaels could have broken a rib there.
13:54Shamrock tried to catch Michaels.
13:56Michaels tipping off the top turnbuckle.
14:00Was that a move, a strategic move, King, or a move of desperation?
14:04Well, I think it started out to be a strategic move.
14:07It just didn't wind up like Shawn Michaels thought it would.
14:10He thought his force would take him right on to King Shamrock, but Shamrock tried,
14:16although not successfully.
14:17Look at that.
14:17Wow.
14:18Baseball slide right on through by Michaels.
14:21Michaels' foot connected right into Shamrock's jaw.
14:24And Shamrock had tried to catch Shawn Michaels on that dive off the ropes,
14:27and Shamrock's shoulder was driven right into the ribs of Shawn.
14:31Michaels is up.
14:32Well, his resiliency is off the page.
14:36Shamrock-
14:37All right, left and right, hard body shots.
14:41And now to the head, now goes Hill, now goes Triple-A.
14:45And Chyna from behind shoving Shamrock right into the ring post.
14:52Man.
14:53How in the hell is Shamrock supposed to beat three people?
14:57One, two, three.
15:00And look at this.
15:01Michaels has a referee distracted.
15:04Hilsie now doing a number with Chyna on Shamrock.
15:08Look at Chyna.
15:09Come on.
15:15Man.
15:20She has no respect for men.
15:21Yeah.
15:23You can tell that by who she hangs around with.
15:26Hey.
15:31Shamrock in a heck of a bad way here.
15:34And Michaels got a big splash.
15:37A splash off the apron right to the floor.
15:40Michaels got some, he got some much needed rest.
15:43Able to suck some oxygen in those lungs and reinvigorate himself.
15:47While Helmsley and Chyna do the dirty work.
15:55Shamrock face first into the security rating.
15:58Helmsley tossing Shamrock back in the ring.
16:04Double axe handles right to the spine.
16:06That injured spine of Shamrock.
16:12Michaels now, second rope.
16:14Elbow right to the kidneys.
16:16The point of the elbow driven right into the kidneys.
16:19And Michaels with the flat of the foot right to the face of the challenger.
16:23Can you get ABC on the phone?
16:26Ask him how dangerous Ken Shamrock looks right now.
16:29I'll get right on that, King.
16:30I'm a little bit busy right now.
16:32Right.
16:32Top kick by Michaels.
16:33The WWF and European Champion scores, hooks the leg, lateral press and a near fall.
16:46I'll tell you what, a lot of folks may have doubted Michaels toughness going into this thing.
16:51I may have been on that list.
16:52Yeah.
16:53I'm beginning to change my mind.
16:54Glad to hear you admit it.
16:55From that respect.
16:57I can admit when I make a mistake.
16:59You gotta try some time.
16:59You thought Shamrock.
17:00It's very cathartic.
17:01If I ever make one, I'll admit it.
17:03You thought that Shamrock was gonna walk through Shawn Michaels.
17:07I walked through it.
17:08Yeah, you did.
17:09Okay, Karnak.
17:10World's most dangerous man.
17:13I can read your mind.
17:15Yeah.
17:15Well, the print is kind of small, but I can still read it.
17:18Shamrock, great throw in the second rope now, being choked by Michaels.
17:20And while the referee pushes Michaels back.
17:23Look at him again.
17:24Triple H of D-Generation X.
17:27About 20 shots there.
17:28Yeah.
17:30And a big right hand.
17:32Shamrock is barely, he couldn't even move.
17:35Shamrock is laying right across that second rope in a helpless state.
17:48Shamrock counters Michaels.
17:52Michaels again, driven face first in the turnbuckle.
17:55And Shamrock again, hard body shots, trying to bust some ribs.
17:59Look at John.
18:01Shamrock rolled through.
18:02He rolled through.
18:03He got it.
18:03He got it.
18:04No, no, no.
18:05Dude.
18:06And Michaels quickly back up with a look of amazement on his face,
18:12comes back and rakes the eyes of Shamrock.
18:15And I don't care who you are, when you're blinded, man,
18:19that is the equalizer.
18:21That stops everything.
18:23It's a nightmare takeover, and Michaels with a reverse chin lock.
18:28I thought he might be going for a sleeper around that massive neck of Ken Shamrock.
18:34And when you cut off your air supply, that's a pretty good equalizer too.
18:37And that's what Shawn Michaels is doing right now.
18:45Michaels, the only man in WWF history to win the WWF title,
18:49Intercontinental title, European title, and tag team title.
18:53And when you say he's-
18:54Grand slam, grand slam.
18:55Absolutely, the grand slam.
18:57That covers a lot of ground, folks.
19:01He's a future hall of famer.
19:02There's no doubt about it.
19:04As I said, and you may argue this point, I think he's the greatest athlete I have
19:09ever seen in this sport.
19:11But his attitude is deplorable.
19:13His conduct is reprehensible.
19:18But right now, he is using great strategy to ground his stronger challenger.
19:26You have quite an attitude yourself there, JR.
19:31Shamrock going downstairs, trying to cause some separation.
19:36Shamrock has got a penny combination.
19:39That was close.
19:41And Michaels, again, the quicker of the two, back up.
19:45Able to score with a close line.
19:47Shamrock told me earlier today, he really wanted to beat Shawn Michaels at
19:51Michaels' own game, and that was with a wrestling hold.
19:54Good luck.
19:54I think Shamrock thought that Michaels is gonna prepare primarily for
19:58the ankle lock submission.
20:00And there's Michaels with a sleeper.
20:01You know what, I think Shamrock should stop thinking.
20:06Michaels with a sleeper.
20:09He should have thought to bring a few extra of his buddies here at ringside,
20:12like Shawn Michaels thought to do.
20:17Maybe he doesn't have any buddies.
20:18I don't think that's the case.
20:20I think he's a man's man.
20:22He got here by himself, he wants to win it by himself.
20:30Michaels using leverage and technique in this sleeper to crimp the neck.
20:36Again, restricting the flow of blood to the brain.
20:40It causes unconsciousness.
20:44Refrain, Earl Hedner now.
20:47Shamrock's shoulders are down in a sleeping position.
20:50And Shamrock, perhaps hearing the reverberation of the pounding of the man,
20:54able to get his shoulder out.
20:58Reverberation.
21:03Michaels holding on with a sleeper trying to keep Shamrock grounded.
21:09Michaels doesn't walk this powerhouse.
21:12Shamrock back on his feet.
21:15Uh-oh, too late.
21:17Not only is he on his feet, he's got Shawn off his.
21:21Shamrock showing great power, driving Michaels back in the turnbuckle.
21:25Got a little relief just for a split second.
21:28No damage done.
21:29Look out, Shawn.
21:32And Michaels right back to the sleeper.
21:34Michaels not gonna give up.
21:36He has been in the ring, has Michaels with bigger men than Shamrock,
21:39and came out victorious.
21:41And Shamrock with an elbow.
21:43Left side, right hand, left shot to the body, right shot to the body.
21:51Man, nowhere to go for Michaels.
21:56Hard whip and Shamrock is owning the WWF champion in this offensive exchange.
22:08Uh-oh.
22:11I think that the zone thing you're talking about is out.
22:15Reverse elbow by Shamrock.
22:17Caught Michaels on the jaw, maybe the collarbone.
22:22And Shamrock on a roll.
22:24There's a power slam.
22:26There's two and a half.
22:27Two and a half, man.
22:29Two and a half.
22:30Two and a half.
22:35Shamrock hurt and run out.
22:38Shamrock with a hurricanrana.
22:40Where did that come from?
22:43Uh-oh.
22:44And now Shamrock is gonna try to beat some respect into Shawn Michaels.
22:52You can't waste any time here, Challenger.
22:58And Michaels counters, crucifix, sunset flip, countered again.
23:04There you go.
23:06A vertical press by Shamrock, got a near fall.
23:11And Michaels with a thumb to the eye.
23:13How about that?
23:18Wow, his head snapped right through that top rope.
23:23One, two, three, four.
23:27Well, it's a gut check time now for Shamrock.
23:32Shamrock barely able to stand.
23:34And Michaels going for a hurricanrana.
23:36And it's time.
23:38Powerball.
23:38We got a new champion.
23:39No.
23:41Somehow, some way, Michaels was able to get a shoulder up.
23:45Man, I don't know if another human being could have stood that, but Shawn Michaels.
23:53Wait a minute.
23:55Watch Chyna and Helmsley pulling Shamrock outside.
24:00Michaels has the referee to come.
24:02He's got a money.
24:04They're almost more than Shamrock take.
24:06They're putting the finishing touches on Ken Shamrock.
24:12And Shamrock is taking on the entire DX.
24:18And now Michaels, perhaps moments away.
24:23Michaels going up top.
24:25And nobody, if he delivers his elbow, nobody doesn't like Michaels.
24:31He got him.
24:33He got him.
24:34He got him.
24:40Sweet sin music.
24:43Can you hear that familiar tune?
24:46Yeah, welcome to Shawn Michaels' zone.
24:50Michaels getting ready to deliver the goods.
24:54Wait, wait, wait, yes, yes, yes.
24:57Suplex, Suplex, it's over, it's over.
25:02Shamrock going for it.
25:04And there's Helmsley and Chyna.
25:07Michaels is about to lose the title.
25:09And Helmsley and Chyna saved it for him.
25:15Helmsley and Chyna now doing a number of Shamrock.
25:19Shamrock had the damn title won.
25:21One, two, three, two, three, two, three.
25:26Marcos is lucky that he's even walking.
25:32Come on.
25:37I can't believe the audacity.
25:40Whoa.
25:41The dastardly attack when Shamrock had the title won.
25:47Helmsley and Chyna were poised to strike.
25:49It was seemingly pre-meditated.
25:53Wait.
25:57Wait.
25:58What the hell?
26:04Michael's knocked off the apron.
26:06My God, it's Owen Hart.
26:09It's Owen Hart.
26:10What?
26:13Orn Hart has a touch shot, Michael.
26:19Orn Hart is a touch shot, Michael.
26:27Orn Hart is going to the crowd, they're right behind us here.
26:45My God, it's chaotic, Owen Hart, attacking Shawn Michaels.
26:59Michael has retained the WWF title.
27:03His nose is busted, thanks to Owen Hart.
27:10The winner of this bout, as a result of a disqualification, Ken Shamrock.
27:15Shamrock.
27:18There will be another day for Shamrock, the King, Owen Hart.
