A fierce political war of words has escalated between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress party. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched an attack on Congress and Rahul Gandhi, accusing the opposition of questioning the Election Commission of India instead of introspecting on repeated electoral defeats. Amit Shah stated that the Congress had been losing elections across states well before recent exercises and asserted that the BJP and NDA will secure a thumping majority in the 2029 elections. In response, the Congress party dared Amit Shah to hold an open press conference, questioned the BJP's confidence regarding 2029, and claimed public anger is mounting across the country.

01:37And my colleague Amit Bhadwaj is now joining us on this story.
01:41Amit, a very good morning to you.
01:42So now, Home Minister Amit Shah has also entered this war of words
01:47between the BJP and the Congress over alleged vote-chori.
01:51But Amit Shah has made a very crucial point that the opposition is blaming the SIR,
01:56is questioning the SIR.
01:57But even before the SIR was being conducted,
02:00the Congress party was anyway losing in majority of the states.
02:05Good morning, Anjali.
02:06You know, we have seen in the past few days that several of the Partijanta party
02:11spokespersons, senior leaders, including the union ministers,
02:14have been attacking the Congress party.
02:16But yesterday, it was finally Home Minister Amit Shah himself
02:19taking over the Congress party and reminding them of their electoral track record
02:24in states such as Gujarat, where they have been in power for the longest time,
02:29but they have not managed to release assembly elections in the last four decades.
02:33And it is, interestingly, also the state which Rahul Gandhi was speaking about
02:40in his last conference, saying that I couldn't understand the defeat in Gujarat itself.
02:45So it's a point, sensitive point to the Congress party as well.
02:49And the Bharatiya Janta party to the ship, telling that,
02:53look, before accusing the Election Commission of India,
02:56why don't you look at your own electoral record?
02:59Importantly, Home Minister Amit Shah has also claimed that the NDE and the BJP
03:04will get thumping majority in 2029,
03:07which has triggered very angry reactions from the Congress party,
03:10saying that, why are you so confident about it?
03:12What makes you so confident about the 2029 mandate?
03:15Look at the protests that are happening across the country.
03:19So clearly, this war of words is to escalate today,
03:22because you will see more and more Congress leaders
03:25sort of attacking Home Minister Amit Shah,
03:27responding to his claims,
03:29and there could be counterclaims coming in.
03:31But certainly, now, the Bharatiya Janta party
03:34aggressively countering the protests and the campaign
03:36that has been launched against the NDE and the Shumar
03:39by the opposition.
03:40All right, Amit, thank you for those details and for that context.
03:44So, Home Minister Amit Shah has now hit out at the opposition,
03:47specifically the Congress party over the protests against the CEC
03:51and against SIR,
03:53saying that the Congress party has anyway been losing
03:56even before SIR was conducted,
03:58and that the BJP and the NDE will be winning the 2029 elections,
04:04and that the Congress must brace for the 2029 loss.
