00:00Dan Quinn, yesterday, talked at length.
00:06Clearly, you know what's not good for a football team?
00:10When it's two weeks in a row and the head coach says,
00:13yeah, I'm pissed and frustrated.
00:15Like, generally, the head coach didn't get up there pissed and frustrated after wins.
00:19And maybe some coaches are still pissed after wins,
00:22but that has not been the case here in Washington
00:24where they have one win through five games.
00:30A lot to this.
00:33I think it's really hard to kind of understand
00:39what they were trying to accomplish.
00:43You know what I'm saying?
00:4455 seconds, two-yard run, 38 seconds go off the clock
00:49before you snap it again.
00:50There's a substitution.
00:53To boil it really simply, Brian,
00:58they overthought it.
01:00Like, they made it more complicated than it needed to be.
01:04Spike it and kick it.
01:05Yeah.
01:05I mean, I've been on that point since it happened.
01:09I said it when we were doing the command center post-game live.
01:14You know, and I think everyone was waiting to hear,
01:17and I don't need to hear anything.
01:19That ball had to be kicked in that moment.
01:23And whatever happened after that happened,
01:24whether he missed it, hit, made it, whatever.
01:27But you should have gotten the kickoff
01:29because you had every opportunity to do that.
01:32If the kid misses, he misses.
01:33Yeah, because, like, we go down to the last play,
01:37and that's the thing about it.
01:39The last play should have never happened.
01:42And that's where I'm at with it.
01:44And for all the people that are looking for the blame,
01:46I'm just saying, the last play should not have happened.
01:49And if they were to try and go through that situation again,
01:54that last play will never get to it.
01:56They'll be kicking the damn ball.
02:00Dude, it never should have gone how it went down.
02:04And Dan Quinn, I think, has taken good ownership.
02:08And I thought, let's go to number four.
02:11A lot of people are asking, did they know about the timeouts, right?
02:14This is Dan Quinn asked if Jaden and the offense
02:17was aware of the timeout situation.
02:20Was Jaden aware that there were no timeouts left?
02:22I haven't spoken to him, but like I said, that falls on me, Nicky.
02:25So, like, he executes it, you know, of what we need to do.
02:30And I don't need to put him in that space at all.
02:33Like, this is how we got to go down.
02:35We don't need to gain more.
02:35Let's give, you know, let's go win it right here.
02:42Kind of weird to not just say yes, right?
02:44Yeah.
02:46Let me hit you with something.
02:47Somebody hit me just now and said that the game clock appeared frozen
02:51at 150 through two plays, and then it dropped to 101.
02:56They're starting to see if we can find anywhere where that happened.
03:01If it does, it's just, I'm just saying, I can see people now
03:05not understanding where the time really is.
03:08But you're looking at that big-ass clock in front of you
03:11when it gets to 13, 14, you got to see it.
03:14But if it was stuck at 150 and dropped to 101 at our stadium,
03:19that's weird.
03:20It's also not true.
03:21Like, it's all documented.
03:23There was a snap at 150 where Jaden connected with Antonio Williams
03:27for six yards.
03:28The next snap was at 109 where Jaden scrambled out to the right for the 16.
03:33So it took 40-something seconds for the next snap to be taken off?
03:36Dog, it took 38 from a minute from 55 to 12.
03:40I saw that.
03:41So that is, I'm still on those moments where.
03:4738 seconds from 55 to 12 is unfathomable.
03:52It didn't seem like the game was coming close to an end.
03:55It seemed like it was just starting the game off.
03:58You know, we're just going to get, feel the flow.
04:01It should have been a little bit more intense, a little bit more sped up,
04:05and then you understand you're in a situation like that.
04:09It never looked like that.
04:10My biggest problem in hindsight now,
04:14Trey Burks deserves a lot of credit for the play he made down the left sideline.
04:18Jaden hit him with a short pass.
04:20He goes 13, broke two tackles, trucked a DB to get out of bounds.
04:24Got of bounds, yeah.
04:26It's then 55 seconds and first down from the 26-yard line.
04:32Firmly in field goal position.
04:34Yes.
04:34Like, everything needs to be laid out right there.
04:38And if you want to run another play, you want to get that handoff to Rashad White,
04:42you trust him, ball security, fine.
04:44But you know exactly what you're doing there when you're kicking.
04:47And that moment is first down.
04:49It's first down with 55 seconds.
04:52You run it to Rashad White in the middle like you did.
04:55Clock it.
04:58Clock it.
04:59You clock it then, over.
05:01Clock it.
05:01And so Dan Quinn revealed a few different things.
05:06I don't know exactly what the numbers correspond to his answers because I listen to all his answers.
05:12Give me number two.
05:14Dan Quinn talking about the poor execution down the stretch.
05:17How close were you to this thing working?
05:20Like, where would you like to see that ball get snapped on the clock?
05:23Is it 15 seconds, 17 seconds?
05:25How close were you to actually pulling this off?
05:28The urgency to get in, JP, has to be way faster.
05:31You know, from like the, if we're going to sub, and what I said earlier, it was like,
05:35this is one we don't need to, to sub and take the time to go back and forth with that.
05:40So, to get in another yard or two, that's fine.
05:42We can go and clock it.
05:43But just the execution of this long in, this long out, onto the line, not nearly good enough, man.
05:51He goes on to explain that there's a substitution.
05:55And who is to blame to me is not as relevant.
05:59Obviously, we do blame pie on Monday, right?
06:01Like, if you want to scream about one particular person, that's your right.
06:06At this point, it's not really about that.
06:08I did ask him, because he explained there's a substitution that impacted the time that leaked off, right?
06:16And I asked, well, is that Blouse call?
06:17He's like, yeah, but ultimately it's on me.
06:19Because the truth of the matter is, ultimately it's all on Quinn.
06:22Yeah, and I think, even to be honest with you, like he said, they practice those game time situations.
06:28At that moment, depending on the time on the clock, whoever is in the game, that's the play you have
06:34to call.
06:35You know what I'm saying?
06:37I guarantee you, with 13 personnel, 12 personnel, you could have 11 personnel.
06:42You could run the same damn play.
06:45And you just got to run it from that moment.
06:48Or, spike it.
06:50Clock it.
06:52And you solved that problem.
06:54Because the amount of time it took for that last snap was a lot, bro.
06:59Like, I've been in football games.
07:02Hell, we saw Pat Mahomes with 13 seconds set his team up for a game-winning field goal, man.
07:08So, 29, 30 seconds?
07:11That's an eternity in football.
07:1438 seconds.
07:16And while you're in the huddle, that is what ticked off the clock.
07:21And then, now you have everybody scrambling or whatever the situation is.
07:26You don't have to be in that situation.
07:27There was 30-something seconds you could have used to your advantage.
07:32It's a cataclysmic mistake from everyone involved.
07:37And does Jaden bear some blame?
07:39Sure.
07:39Does Blau bear some blame?
07:40Sure.
07:41Dan Quinn's the head coach.
07:43He's on the sideline.
07:44His OC's next to him.
07:45The quarterback's there.
07:47You can go to 62 seconds.
07:50A minute, two.
07:51When Burks gets out of bounds.
07:53Like, it's just, it's unbelievable to think this is how it all went down.
07:59We're going to open the phone lines up.
08:00At 11, it's B. Mitchell Finley.
