00:00We went to football at 8 a.m., got done about 10 a.m., went straight to his house, and
00:05we were there until 5 o'clock, building this non-stop.
00:10Maverick is a student at our school at Horsestop West Elementary.
00:13He had a situation where he needed a ramp built at his house.
00:17He's wheelchair-bounded, and it would allow him and his family to have better access for him to move about
00:23and get in and out of the house and have an opportunity to get outside and play much easier.
00:28We attend Cornerstone Church in Portsmouth, and our associate pastor is part of a project that does outreach services for
00:35disabled individuals, and he had a project to build the ramp for Maverick.
00:40He had the material, but he had no workers.
00:43Max heard it, and he got the idea that, hey, I've got my teammates.
00:47I thought that it was a calling for me to help him out in any way possible.
00:51They all said yes immediately.
00:53I didn't have to bug him about it.
00:56No one said no.
00:56Some of my buddies had built stuff like that before, so they knew what they were doing.
01:03He was out there playing the whole time.
01:05He watched us build the whole thing.
01:07It was a cool moment.

01:45Max is humble, and it has kind of taken us back that it has gotten this kind of attention,
01:51because it wasn't the intention it was hey let's build this for this little guy and let's make his
01:55life a little bit easier and his family a little bit easier and that's what the young men were
02:00out to do show up your community um especially when you're as small as this one is just be there
