00:07It's a privilege to have you all here tonight folks
00:10for the inaugural 2026 South Australian Awards Ceremony
00:14proudly presented by ACM Agri and the National Farmers Federation.
00:18The awards celebrate excellence across five categories
00:21and our farmers have been assessed on the impact of their work,
00:24the leadership they demonstrate
00:26and the contribution they've been making to their communities.
00:30Our nominees have shown a genuine commitment to looking after their people,
00:35implementing practices, programs and leadership approaches
00:38that prioritise wellbeing alongside productivity.
00:43No one would doubt that farmers are now talking more
00:46about mental health and wellbeing.
00:48And we're proud to be part of that change
00:50but all of the finalists tonight are part of that change
00:53and there's many other people in our state and across the country
00:56that are a part of that change.
00:59Our next award recognises the future of Australian agriculture
01:02and recognises those cementing their place
01:05as emerging leaders in the industry.
01:09I suppose you never do any of these things
01:11with the intention of receiving accolades.
01:13Whether you're in sustainable agriculture,
01:15whether you're in the next-gen agri
01:17and you want to inspire young people,
01:20you do it because you're truly passionate.
01:22Their work shows that sustainability is not simply an obligation
01:26but an opportunity to drive positive change and long-term success.
01:31It's great to see the acknowledgement for what farmers do
01:35and what this industry brings into the economy.
01:39Of course it is, as a woman in agriculture myself,
01:43a real privilege to present the Women in Agriculture Award.
01:46It's actually about shining a spotlight on women in ag
01:51and the contribution that women right across South Australia
01:55and across the country actually make to our food and fibre industries.
02:00Our final award tonight celebrates the ideas of ingenuity
02:04driving Australian agriculture forward.
02:07I'm just hoping that for the awards it's not the beginning of the end
02:11or the end of the beginning,
02:13but it's the beginning of the beginning for Innovation Australia.
