AccuWeather's Ali Reed reports from Pensacola, Florida, where a family is mourning a woman who died after a tree crashed through her home during Hurricane Isaiah.
Transcript
00:00A hurricane can destroy a home in seconds, but for one Florida family, Hurricane Isaias took someone they can never
00:07get back.
00:08But it fell and it fell directly on her, and the authorities had to come around the backside and pull
00:12her out.
00:13She was a good woman. She was a wonderful mom. I'm just trying to deal with it the best I
00:16can.
00:1757-year-old Jen Williams was killed when a massive tree crashed through the roof of her Florida home as
00:23Isaias battered the panhandle.
00:25Her husband says the two had gone outside to take pictures of the storm before heading back inside.
00:31That's when the tree came down, crashing through their living room and trapping them beneath the debris.
00:37I think I was so blown away at first it was hard to believe because it kind of feels like
00:43a movie scene.
00:44And even as the family tries to process what happened, the work of cleaning up has already begun.
00:49Saturday, Jen's family, friends, and neighbors gathered at the home to help clear away the debris left behind from the
00:56storm.
00:57For Zane, who was born and raised in Florida preparing for severe weather, is part of life.
01:02But knowing the dangers doesn't make a loss like this any easier.
01:06I would be lying if I told you what happened was surprising, but just as much as it is heartbreaking.
01:12As the family works to pick up the pieces, they're also trying to find a way forward without losing sight
01:17of the woman at the center of their grief.
01:20For AccuWeather in Pensacola, Florida, I'm Allie Reed.
