00:14:56Х desirable to orchestrate
00:14:58A different defensive look
00:14:59Probably something that's
00:15:00Quite a bit more beneficial
00:15:02To them
00:15:02I think it would've been
00:15:03Good for the Vikings
00:15:04Offense just to stay
00:15:05On the field
00:15:06Keep them in there
00:15:08Keep them in that
00:15:09That other personnel group
00:15:10Keep their better
00:15:11Pass rushers off the field
00:15:12And lock in Emerson
00:15:14Up there at the top
00:15:15And find a matchup
00:15:16That you like
00:15:19On third and seven
00:15:20Murray
00:15:21Middle of the field
00:15:22Is wide open
00:15:23And he's got the
00:15:24First down again
00:15:294 scramble
00:15:3136 yards on those
00:15:33scrambles against Brandon Staley's defense
00:15:35and this was one of the things he was concerned about
00:15:37with Tyler Murray
00:15:38you have to be, you have to just take a different rush
00:15:41approach, I mean we've seen now
00:15:43a couple times where the edge rushers
00:15:45have beaten the tackles and he's
00:15:47spun out of it, in that case
00:15:49he steps up and finds the running leg
00:15:51so he can beat you in a number of
00:15:53different ways
00:15:54it just forces you to rush the passer a little bit
00:15:57different, try to contain him
00:15:59and don't let him
00:16:00beat you with some of those explosive runs
00:16:03or scrambles
00:16:05off the fake to Jones
00:16:07Murray's got a man near
00:16:09side incomplete, it's for the hands of
00:16:11Ty Felton
00:16:172nd down
00:16:24so you got two crossers here
00:16:26basically you got Ty Felton and Jawan Jennings
00:16:28both crossing, look how wide open
00:16:30Jawan Jennings is, he knows it
00:16:32look, Kyler had his eyes
00:16:33to the left, I'm not sure what he didn't see
00:16:37but if he's reading it properly
00:16:39it's Jawan Jennings first
00:16:40Ty Felton second, regardless
00:16:42two open guys, you have to find a completion
00:16:47Jennings still only has two catches
00:16:49in his first four games
00:16:52with Minnesota
00:16:55and a whistle blows this dead
00:16:57play clock winding
00:16:59delay game
00:17:00offense
00:17:01five yard penalty
00:17:02second down
00:17:03we've seen a couple of timeouts
00:17:05burn with the play clock winding down
00:17:06I imagine this is all part of
00:17:08a little bit of the growing pains
00:17:09as Murray tries to get on the same page
00:17:11with the playbook
00:17:12you're exactly right
00:17:13and, man, there's been a couple
00:17:14big play opportunities
00:17:15in the past game
00:17:16it looks like Kyler
00:17:17his eyes are there
00:17:18it's just not pulling the trigger
00:17:20some of this has been
00:17:21maybe pressure related
00:17:22he's just feeling a little bit
00:17:23of the pocket compression
00:17:24but nonetheless
00:17:25when he gets comfortable
00:17:27in this offense
00:17:27he's going to realize
00:17:28that you can stand firm
00:17:30deliver these balls
00:17:31you've got some big targets
00:17:32on the outside
00:17:32guys are going to make
00:17:33some plays for you
00:17:34and this Kevin O'Connell
00:17:36offense loves these deep in cuts
00:17:37they love these deep over routes
00:17:39which is something that
00:17:40Kyler should be good
00:17:42at throwing
00:17:44no Jefferson right now
00:17:45Murray
00:17:47down field for Jennings
00:17:48incomplete
00:17:50he was matched up
00:17:51with Jonas Sankar
00:17:53and it brings up
00:17:54third down and long
00:17:55you can get a first down
00:17:56at the four yard line
00:17:58yeah that's only
00:17:59Juwan Jennings
00:17:59fifth target
00:18:00after being
00:18:01one of their free agent
00:18:02signings this offseason
00:18:03from the 49ers
00:18:04look I like the progression
00:18:06and it's a big target
00:18:07in some of these cases
00:18:09just give your guy a chance
00:18:10especially a big target
00:18:12like that
00:18:13Juwan Jennings
00:18:14is one of those
00:18:14really good contested
00:18:15catch it guys
00:18:17think about the high back shoulder
00:18:18think about giving him
00:18:19an opportunity
00:18:19but Juwan Jennings
00:18:20knows it is that
00:18:21two opportunities
00:18:22to make a play
00:18:23and the ball hasn't come
00:18:24anywhere close to him
00:18:28screen pass
00:18:29here's Price
00:18:30it's grabbed by Warner
00:18:33and that ball comes out
00:18:35again
00:18:35Jonas Sankar
00:18:36there is nothing
00:18:37but green grass
00:18:38in front of him
00:18:39and the Saints defense
00:18:42ties the game
00:19:00first NFL touchdown
00:19:02for Jonas Sankar
00:19:03courtesy of Pete Werner's punch
00:19:06if you watch Pete Werner
00:19:08and then Martin Emerson Jr.
00:19:10out here
00:19:14he Werner able to
00:19:15throw his right hand
00:19:16in there
00:19:17looks like that
00:19:17jarred it loose
00:19:18and then Emerson
00:19:19might have done the rest
00:19:22boy actually
00:19:23yeah
00:19:25Emerson there
00:19:25with the left arm
00:19:28boy what a massive play
00:19:29now
00:19:30two turnovers
00:19:31by the New Orleans Saints
00:19:32defense
00:19:33when the Vikings
00:19:34offense was deep
00:19:35in their territory
00:19:35a massive momentum shift
00:19:39in this game
00:19:41and a chance for the lead
00:19:44Carlson missed it
00:19:47Vikings fans remember that
00:19:49from his second NFL game
00:19:51when he struggled kicking the ball
00:19:53he got cut immediately after
00:19:56now with the New Orleans Saints
00:19:58his missed PAT
00:19:59keeps it at a tie game
00:20:01Emerson and Werner
00:20:03team up to get it loose
00:20:04Sankar takes it to the house
00:20:06to tie it up
00:20:09so the first 12 and a half minutes
00:20:11of this third quarter
00:20:13but Jonas Sankar
00:20:14had a strong rookie season last year
00:20:17he got drafted
00:20:17by the Saints
00:20:19with a pick that was
00:20:20delivered from Washington
00:20:21in the Marchant Lattimore trade
00:20:23excellent player at Virginia
00:20:25as his first NFL touchdown
00:20:28he's had great ball production
00:20:30he's really become this
00:20:31this really versatile
00:20:33big nickel player for them
00:20:35good in coverage
00:20:36good ball skills
00:20:37he just seems to be
00:20:38in the right place
00:20:39at the right time
00:20:39which is a great trade
00:20:41for a defensive player
00:20:42there was Price's fumble
00:20:44on that screen pass
00:20:45that led to the touchdown
00:20:46he carries this return
00:20:47out near the 30 yard line
00:20:51this is just at the third quarter
00:20:53it was seven to six
00:20:55New Orleans at halftime
00:20:56they got the second half kickoff
00:20:58Jayden Price
00:20:59has a fumble
00:21:01which leads to the Jefferson
00:21:02touchdown from Tyler Murray
00:21:04just the second offensive score
00:21:06in the last 16 quarters
00:21:07Chuck just delivers it
00:21:10on a platter
00:21:10to Byron Murphy Jr
00:21:12Minnesota going in
00:21:14Price with the second
00:21:15red zone giveaway
00:21:16by the Vikings today
00:21:19and Sankar takes it
00:21:21to the house
00:21:2120 of the points
00:21:24scored in this game
00:21:25out of the 26
00:21:26off turnovers
00:21:29now from the 30
00:21:31it's Kyler Murray
00:21:34nowhere to go
00:21:35has time
00:21:36all day
00:21:37and a man gets loose
00:21:38busted coverage
00:21:39having to cover
00:21:40for that long
00:21:41and it is grabbed
00:21:42by Jay Sean Jones
00:21:43for his first
00:21:44NFL reception
00:21:46a flag is thrown
00:21:47at the 40 yard line
00:21:48near where he made
00:21:49the grab for 32 yards
00:21:54just up from
00:21:55the practice squad
00:21:55this week
00:21:56for his second game
00:21:57of the year
00:22:04there is no foul
00:22:05on the play
00:22:06first down
00:22:08so the former
00:22:09Maryland Terrapin
00:22:11named Kyler
00:22:12just to find
00:22:13Diggs
00:22:13finds 32
00:22:14watch this
00:22:15I actually credit
00:22:16Kyler Murray
00:22:16quite a bit
00:22:17and the Saints
00:22:17look how the Saints
00:22:18have adjusted
00:22:19their rush patterns
00:22:19they're not going to
00:22:20let him get outside
00:22:21the pocket
00:22:21and scramble
00:22:22Kyler's like
00:22:23I want to
00:22:23but then he just
00:22:24gets his eyes
00:22:25back up
00:22:25and to think
00:22:27that the defense
00:22:28can cover
00:22:29for six seconds
00:22:30is impossible
00:22:32so really a good job
00:22:33and adjustment
00:22:34by Kyler
00:22:35man I can't get
00:22:36outside the pocket
00:22:36I'm going to keep
00:22:37my eyes down the field
00:22:38huge play
00:22:39for this offense
00:22:40now back to the ground
00:22:41a hole for Aaron Jones
00:22:43he keeps his feet
00:22:44off the spin
00:22:45and takes it
00:22:46into the red zone
00:22:46for Minnesota
00:22:4819 yard run
00:22:49for Aaron Jones
00:22:50his longest
00:22:52by far today
00:22:56yeah this was
00:22:57gap scheme run
00:22:59watch how they wham
00:23:00you're going to see
00:23:01the tight end
00:23:01come across
00:23:02and wham down
00:23:03on the defensive tackle
00:23:04which is what springs
00:23:05that big hole
00:23:06for Aaron Jones
00:23:07but man what a great response
00:23:10by this Minnesota Vikings
00:23:11offense
00:23:13explosive pass play
00:23:14explosive run
00:23:16to start this drive
00:23:17and get back
00:23:18in the red zone
00:23:24Murray trying to roll left
00:23:26you see Chase Young
00:23:27chasing him
00:23:27and Murray takes off
00:23:29for a positive gain
00:23:30but Chase Young
00:23:31gets in the backfield
00:23:32so fast
00:23:33that Murray reacted
00:23:34well to it
00:23:34he does
00:23:35and I say
00:23:35there's just not
00:23:35many quarterbacks
00:23:36that have the ability
00:23:37to get to the edge
00:23:39and outrun a guy
00:23:40like Chase Young
00:23:40so it's just
00:23:41the versatility
00:23:42that a guy like
00:23:44Kyler Murray
00:23:44gives to this offense
00:23:46you know
00:23:47it kind of brings
00:23:47that bootleg game
00:23:48into play
00:23:49you know
00:23:50they're always going
00:23:50to be a run
00:23:51you know
00:23:51zone run
00:23:52gap scheme run
00:23:53play action team
00:23:54and then just kind of
00:23:55the quick rhythmic
00:23:57passing game
00:23:57but now the ability
00:23:58to get on the perimeter
00:23:59get Kyler Murray
00:24:00on the run
00:24:01that's where he can
00:24:02really do some damage
00:24:10nice maneuvering by
00:24:12Jones
00:24:12he'll take it
00:24:13close to the sticks
00:24:14that may take us
00:24:15to the end of the quarter
00:24:1740 Wooden
00:24:18was there on the stop
00:24:19he was asking
00:24:19for a face mask
00:24:20on the play
00:24:24they're lining it up
00:24:25with still 12 seconds
00:24:26left
00:24:27in this third quarter
00:24:39wind all the way down
00:24:41and take it
00:24:41to the fourth quarter
00:24:42what do you know
00:24:43a tight game
00:24:44for the Minnesota Vikings
00:24:45they're used to that
00:24:47Saints
00:24:48not playing from behind
00:24:49going to the fourth
00:24:50today
00:24:5013 up
00:24:55City of New Orleans
00:24:58sight for the Vikings
00:24:59and Saints
00:24:59today
00:25:00the Vikings
00:25:01have almost
00:25:01200 more yards
00:25:02they've ran 19
00:25:03more plays
00:25:04they've had the ball
00:25:05for 12 more minutes
00:25:06but this is a 13-13
00:25:08ball game to the fourth
00:25:09turnovers and red zone
00:25:10efficiency
00:25:10that's what these games
00:25:12come down to
00:25:12and look
00:25:13defenses are structured
00:25:14in a lot of ways
00:25:15to bend don't break
00:25:16they will
00:25:17if you can go on
00:25:18a 12-15 play drive
00:25:20and then get
00:25:21a touchdown
00:25:22be our guest
00:25:23but
00:25:23you know
00:25:24this is where
00:25:25the Saints defense
00:25:26has really looked
00:25:26good today
00:25:27he's inside
00:25:27the red zone
00:25:28created two turnovers
00:25:29and for the most part
00:25:31been able to
00:25:31force him to kick
00:25:32field goals
00:25:35on third and one
00:25:38Murray kept it
00:25:39floated it ahead
00:25:41and it's just enough
00:25:42for a first down
00:25:43Carl Granderson
00:25:45got a fingertip
00:25:46on it
00:25:46but Gavin
00:25:47Bartholomew
00:25:48who came into the day
00:25:49having only played
00:25:5021 offensive snaps
00:25:52in his career
00:25:52picks up the
00:25:53chain-moving grab
00:25:56I really like
00:25:57the play action
00:25:58especially the idea
00:25:59to get Kyler
00:26:00on the edge
00:26:00if nobody's open
00:26:01he's now has
00:26:02some space
00:26:03and ability
00:26:04to make a defensive
00:26:05end miss
00:26:06and go get a first
00:26:07down for you
00:26:07but
00:26:09crucial
00:26:10crucial moment
00:26:11here
00:26:11for the Saints
00:26:13defense to be able
00:26:13to stiffen up
00:26:14and find a way
00:26:15to keep him out
00:26:16of the end zone
00:26:24Redison in motion
00:26:26handoff for Jones
00:26:27straight up the gut
00:26:28pounds ahead
00:26:29and he is in
00:26:31Vikings take the lead
00:26:33as Aaron Jones
00:26:35just barreled over
00:26:37Julian Blackman
00:26:38for the touchdown
00:26:46really good job
00:26:47the right side
00:26:48of this offensive line
00:26:49Brian O'Neill
00:26:50Will Fries
00:26:50watch him just
00:26:51kind of slam down
00:26:52here on the
00:26:53two technique
00:26:55left guard
00:26:56pulling around
00:26:56leading up on the
00:26:57linebacker
00:26:58and then Aaron Jones
00:26:58Sr.
00:27:01this is where
00:27:01you run the feet
00:27:02watch the finish
00:27:03there on Blackman
00:27:06good physical
00:27:07run by Aaron Jones
00:27:09Sr.
00:27:09to put him up
00:27:09by a touchdown
00:27:16that's a seven
00:27:17point Minnesota
00:27:18advantage
00:27:18in a back and
00:27:19forth ball game
00:27:21third season
00:27:23with the Vikings
00:27:24had a tough
00:27:25season last year
00:27:26back with a
00:27:27vengeance today
00:27:28and he's
00:27:30giving Minnesota
00:27:31the advantage
00:27:31trying to stay
00:27:32unbeaten
00:27:34only one
00:27:35and by
00:27:36Charles Schwab
00:27:42Vikings offense
00:27:43had scored
00:27:44one touchdown
00:27:45in a
00:27:4614 quarter
00:27:47stretch
00:27:48they have
00:27:49one touchdown
00:27:49in each quarter
00:27:50of this second half
00:27:51they've come from
00:27:52Jefferson
00:27:52and Jones
00:27:54in the absence
00:27:55of Hockinson
00:27:55and Addison
00:27:56today
00:27:56that's what's
00:27:58been most impressive
00:27:58is you think
00:27:59about the guys
00:28:00that they're missing
00:28:01you know
00:28:02Hockinson
00:28:03tight end
00:28:03Addison
00:28:04receiver
00:28:05Jordan
00:28:05Mason
00:28:05you know
00:28:06when all
00:28:06these guys
00:28:06come back
00:28:07and they're
00:28:07at their
00:28:07full strength
00:28:08and then you
00:28:09get Kyler
00:28:09Murray
00:28:10continuing to be
00:28:11more comfortable
00:28:12in this offense
00:28:13these guys can be
00:28:14dangerous
00:28:15Kyler's been so
00:28:16efficient today
00:28:1722 of 28
00:28:18almost 80%
00:28:19completion
00:28:21has really
00:28:22distributed
00:28:22the ball
00:28:22well
00:28:23he's probably
00:28:24missed some
00:28:25downfield throws
00:28:26that might have
00:28:26been there
00:28:26and yet
00:28:28he was played
00:28:29conservative
00:28:30knowing that
00:28:32the defense
00:28:32on the other
00:28:33side of the ball
00:28:33is playing
00:28:34pretty good
00:28:37we'll be right
00:28:39back after this
00:28:40from State Farm
00:28:42State Farm
00:28:43helps personalize
00:28:44your insurance
00:28:45we just
00:28:45a real
00:28:47cam scatterboot
00:28:48let's do it
00:28:48getting to know you
00:28:50getting to know all
00:28:52about you
00:28:55getting to like you
00:28:57getting to like me
00:28:59perfect
00:29:05I love this guy
00:29:06I can tell
00:29:07create a personal
00:29:08price plan that
00:29:09fits your life
00:29:10and budget
00:29:13see if Tyler
00:29:14Shuck can solve
00:29:15the Flores problem
00:29:16outside of that
00:29:17touchdown drive
00:29:18the Saints have
00:29:19just 39
00:29:20total yards
00:29:22and Shuck
00:29:23who's had some
00:29:24turnover issues
00:29:25in the second half
00:29:25this year
00:29:26has an interception
00:29:27today
00:29:28Alvin Kamara
00:29:29back at it
00:29:30and not much there
00:29:31as Blake Cashman
00:29:32is able to shut
00:29:33him down
00:29:34look I feel like
00:29:35it's been pretty
00:29:35predictable here
00:29:36for the Saints
00:29:37first down
00:29:38a lot of runs
00:29:39I'd love to see
00:29:39play action
00:29:40let's push the ball
00:29:41down the field
00:29:42and think of
00:29:43opportunities to
00:29:44compress this defense
00:29:46and then get
00:29:47Olave running
00:29:49to the next level
00:29:50finding some windows
00:29:52you know they've
00:29:52done such a good job
00:29:53with their 12 and 13
00:29:54personnel stuff
00:29:55maybe it's bootlegs
00:29:56if you have a trick play
00:29:57this is the time
00:29:58to bring it out
00:30:02and off for
00:30:03Kendrick Miller
00:30:04that's a good run
00:30:05one of his best
00:30:06of the day
00:30:07with a flag thrown
00:30:09back at the 27
00:30:10yard line
00:30:13holding
00:30:14offense number 87
00:30:1610 yard penalty
00:30:17first down
00:30:18it's only five penalties
00:30:20accepted against
00:30:20New Orleans today
00:30:21but it just feels
00:30:22like they've come
00:30:23at crucial times
00:30:24in particular
00:30:25their third holding
00:30:26of the day
00:30:26yeah if you watch
00:30:27Noah Fant
00:30:28he ends up
00:30:28getting second level
00:30:29on Cashman
00:30:34one of those
00:30:35it feels like Drew
00:30:35where you didn't
00:30:36really have to do it
00:30:37and it may be a little
00:30:38ticky-tack too
00:30:39but just felt like
00:30:39you could have let go
00:30:40and not have
00:30:41that flag against you
00:30:42it wouldn't have
00:30:43affected the play
00:30:43all that much
00:30:44yeah hard
00:30:45hard to tell
00:30:46certainly
00:30:46certainly didn't feel
00:30:47like there was a
00:30:48whole lot there
00:30:48and yet
00:30:49it puts him into a
00:30:50second and long
00:30:51situation again
00:30:52against a defense
00:30:53that thrives
00:30:55in these moments
00:31:07four here
00:31:08so Chuck's got to
00:31:09look for a window
00:31:10through seven
00:31:10defenders
00:31:12off the sideline
00:31:13incomplete
00:31:14trying to find
00:31:15Bryce Lance
00:31:16the Minnesota native
00:31:17in his college ball
00:31:19at North Dakota State
00:31:20the fourth round pick
00:31:21and it's third down
00:31:22and long
00:31:23and again
00:31:24unfortunately
00:31:24the Saints have just
00:31:26lived too much
00:31:26in this world
00:31:27right now
00:31:27which is
00:31:28C.J. Donaldson
00:31:29having to step up
00:31:30and block
00:31:31Eric Wilson
00:31:32and you just see
00:31:33the way that
00:31:33that pocket gets
00:31:34compressed
00:31:35all of a sudden
00:31:36Chuck gets caught
00:31:37holding the ball
00:31:37and then you get
00:31:39in these third
00:31:39long situations
00:31:40I'm shocked
00:31:41we haven't seen
00:31:42more early down
00:31:43play action
00:31:44from the Saints
00:31:44they've literally
00:31:45done it one time
00:31:46and it was in
00:31:47the first quarter
00:31:47but they haven't
00:31:48run a lot of plays
00:31:49but then again
00:31:50if you're going to
00:31:50make hay against
00:31:51this defense
00:31:52it's going to be
00:31:53in the play action
00:31:53game
00:31:56quick throw
00:31:57that was off target
00:31:59and off time
00:32:00right from the beginning
00:32:05some restlessness
00:32:06from the Superdome fans
00:32:08it's fourth down
00:32:09and long
00:32:09with 13 minutes
00:32:11to play
00:32:13that's a part
00:32:14of the solution
00:32:15against this defense
00:32:16is some of these
00:32:16side adjustments
00:32:17you feel pressure
00:32:18you're going to
00:32:19side adjust
00:32:19that's obviously
00:32:20what Chuck
00:32:21thought was
00:32:22happening
00:32:23Bryce Lance
00:32:24ends up running
00:32:25a slug or a slant
00:32:26and go
00:32:28but again
00:32:28you get these
00:32:29third and 20
00:32:30situations
00:32:30you really can't
00:32:31be right
00:32:33feels like
00:32:34Minnesota
00:32:34as they often
00:32:35do on defense
00:32:36is winning
00:32:36the numbers
00:32:37game
00:32:38got a penalty
00:32:39here
00:32:41Ivan Pace
00:32:42who's an excellent
00:32:43special teamer
00:32:45former starter
00:32:47he's
00:32:47a little jumpy
00:32:48there
00:32:51but Minnesota's
00:32:51trying to win
00:32:52the numbers game
00:32:53they got more
00:32:53in coverage
00:32:54than you've got
00:32:55receivers
00:32:56they've got more
00:32:57on the pass rush
00:32:57than you've got
00:32:58guys to block it
00:32:59and it makes it
00:33:00really hard to guess
00:33:01which one they're
00:33:02going to do
00:33:02and they seemingly
00:33:03win that battle
00:33:04more often than not
00:33:04and they always
00:33:05have an answer
00:33:05too
00:33:06the minute
00:33:06you make
00:33:07look you have
00:33:07to go
00:33:08full start
00:33:08offense number
00:33:0946
00:33:125 yard penalty
00:33:134,000
00:33:14wow
00:33:14really quick DB
00:33:15that was Cal
00:33:16Adamitis
00:33:16who is the
00:33:17third different
00:33:18New Orleans
00:33:18long snapper
00:33:19this season
00:33:20I think
00:33:20maybe he simulated
00:33:21the snap
00:33:22with any type
00:33:23of movement
00:33:23anytime you have
00:33:24any movement
00:33:25that could simulate
00:33:26a snap
00:33:26that's why the
00:33:27centers or long
00:33:28snappers
00:33:28get called for it
00:33:29there's the movement
00:33:30of the head
00:33:31so that's a penalty
00:33:31as you were saying
00:33:32prior DB
00:33:33yeah
00:33:33when you go up
00:33:34against a defense
00:33:35like this
00:33:35you have to have
00:33:36the full arsenal
00:33:37of answers
00:33:37which
00:33:38when they're going
00:33:39to walk up
00:33:39and look to blitz
00:33:40you you want
00:33:41to be able to
00:33:41spit the ball
00:33:42on the perimeter
00:33:43fourth down
00:33:45you want to be able
00:33:46to spit the ball
00:33:46on the perimeter
00:33:47to get them out
00:33:47numbered
00:33:48at times you're
00:33:49going to want
00:33:49to block it up
00:33:50and take a shot
00:33:50and other times
00:33:51you're going to
00:33:52want to screen them
00:33:53so you have to
00:33:54have the full breadth
00:33:54of these
00:33:55you know
00:33:56offensive tools
00:33:58but when you're
00:33:59not running
00:33:59a lot of plays
00:34:00when you're not
00:34:01good on first
00:34:01and second down
00:34:02and you just
00:34:03get a fresh defense
00:34:04that's out there
00:34:05at all times
00:34:07it's just not
00:34:08going to be good
00:34:08for you
00:34:11just outside
00:34:11his own end zone
00:34:12Ryan Wright has to
00:34:14boot it away
00:34:15it's going to take
00:34:16a friendly
00:34:17New Orleans
00:34:18bounce and roll
00:34:20and that will
00:34:21help flip the field
00:34:22down to the 32
00:34:23Vikings have the ball
00:34:24and a seven point
00:34:26lead
00:34:27in New Orleans
00:34:28Drew Brees
00:34:29inducted into the
00:34:30Saints ring of honor
00:34:31after getting inducted
00:34:32into the Pro Football
00:34:33Hall of Fame
00:34:34Frenchy's almost done
00:34:36man that's awesome
00:34:38really good stuff
00:34:39so
00:34:39Adam Amin
00:34:40the Hall of Famer
00:34:41Drew Brees
00:34:41our great crew
00:34:42for Fox Sports
00:34:43here with us today
00:34:44Christina Pink
00:34:44down on the field
00:34:45as well
00:34:46back and forth
00:34:47ball game
00:34:47we've seen it
00:34:48now it starts
00:34:49to get a little
00:34:49tighter for this
00:34:50Saints defense
00:34:51especially with
00:34:52Kyler Murray
00:34:52working with the lead
00:34:53well and they've
00:34:54been out here
00:34:55a long time
00:34:55and unfortunately
00:34:56for them
00:34:56the Saints offense
00:34:57hasn't been able
00:34:58to provide
00:34:59much relief
00:35:00only
00:35:02nine plays
00:35:03in the second half
00:35:03for the Saints offense
00:35:04six in the third quarter
00:35:05and then just another
00:35:06three and out
00:35:07that's the fourth
00:35:07third and out
00:35:08three and out
00:35:09today
00:35:09so now Aaron Jones
00:35:11runs it for eight
00:35:12so now you're starting
00:35:12to see some of these
00:35:13runs
00:35:14pick up
00:35:14five
00:35:15six
00:35:16seven
00:35:16eight
00:35:16we saw a 19 yard
00:35:17run earlier
00:35:18from Aaron Jones
00:35:18we always talk about
00:35:19it being a war
00:35:20of attrition
00:35:20you know
00:35:21in a lot of cases
00:35:21when you think about
00:35:22one of your most
00:35:23effective times
00:35:23to run the football
00:35:24typically later
00:35:26in a drive
00:35:26right after you've
00:35:28been able to wear
00:35:28down the defensive
00:35:29front a little bit
00:35:30maybe you get
00:35:30a little tempo
00:35:31and then you start
00:35:32denting it a little
00:35:33bit more
00:35:34also end of game
00:35:35where hey
00:35:36the defense has been
00:35:37out there for a long
00:35:37time they've had
00:35:38to defend
00:35:39the run now
00:35:40for three and a half
00:35:41quarters
00:35:4254th play
00:35:43for Minnesota
00:35:44to just 33
00:35:45for New Orleans
00:35:46right near the sticks
00:35:47as we get a game
00:35:48break presented by
00:35:49Burger King
00:35:49with Carissa Thompson
00:35:50thank you so much
00:35:51Adam
00:35:52so Giants down
00:35:5213
00:35:53third and goal
00:35:54Jameis Winston
00:35:55fires it to Isaiah
00:35:56likely for the score
00:35:57Giants cut the
00:35:58deficit
00:35:582-6
00:35:59Adam
00:36:01three and one
00:36:02star for the Giants
00:36:02that's the team
00:36:03that New Orleans
00:36:04will see
00:36:04will be out
00:36:05in the Meadowlands
00:36:06next week
00:36:07Jameis Winston
00:36:08Jameis Winston
00:36:08of course
00:36:08your former
00:36:09backup with
00:36:09New Orleans
00:36:10of note here
00:36:11this is the
00:36:12seventh time
00:36:13today
00:36:13that the
00:36:14Minnesota Vikings
00:36:14offense has been
00:36:15third and two or less
00:36:16third and one here
00:36:18and they've been able
00:36:19to convert successfully
00:36:20on a lot of these
00:36:218-14 overall
00:36:22on third down
00:36:23today
00:36:23Murray with the fake
00:36:24rolling to the right
00:36:26just needs a yard
00:36:27he'll get it
00:36:28and he'll move the
00:36:29chains for this
00:36:30Minnesota offense
00:36:31boy he is awfully
00:36:33nifty
00:36:33and what a weapon
00:36:35to have
00:36:37especially for a
00:36:38defensive front
00:36:38where third and one
00:36:39you're certainly
00:36:40worried about them
00:36:41just trying to
00:36:41pound the ball
00:36:42so you've got
00:36:44everybody compressing
00:36:45the edges
00:36:45and you can lose
00:36:46contain very easily
00:36:48on a guy like
00:36:49Kyla Murray
00:36:49that's the third time
00:36:50that he's converted
00:36:52a third down
00:36:52on the ground
00:36:53today
00:36:53it's one of his
00:36:54better rushing games
00:36:55over the last
00:36:56calendar year
00:36:57yeah so now imagine
00:36:58if you can
00:36:59get some of these
00:37:00weapons healthy
00:37:01you get a
00:37:01Hawkinson back
00:37:02and Addison
00:37:03and Jordan Mason
00:37:03and now you're
00:37:04running the ball
00:37:05you're throwing the ball
00:37:06in the intermediate
00:37:06and long passing game
00:37:08this could be a
00:37:09really really good
00:37:09offense
00:37:11there's Jones
00:37:12taking it near midfield
00:37:13how much time
00:37:13did you kind of feel
00:37:14again I know you
00:37:16and Sean Payton
00:37:16had a long tenure
00:37:18together but
00:37:18for a quarterback
00:37:19how long do you feel
00:37:20like it takes
00:37:21to get up
00:37:21to speed
00:37:22especially a complex
00:37:23offense like Kevin
00:37:24O'Connell
00:37:24you know I think
00:37:25a lot of it is just
00:37:25the relationship
00:37:27between you and the
00:37:27play caller
00:37:28we talk a lot about
00:37:28play caller's intent
00:37:29so when the play
00:37:31call comes in
00:37:32you know exactly
00:37:33why the play caller
00:37:34is calling him
00:37:34he's calling it
00:37:35to get the ball
00:37:36to this guy
00:37:36or thinking about
00:37:38hey we're in
00:37:39four down territory
00:37:40you just begin to
00:37:41play the game
00:37:41along with the
00:37:42play caller
00:37:42and that's when
00:37:43you're able to go
00:37:44next level as an
00:37:44offense
00:37:45but then beyond that
00:37:46it's just timing
00:37:47and rapport
00:37:47with your weapons
00:37:50Justin Jefferson
00:37:51lined up in the backfield
00:37:52here
00:37:55Jones handoff
00:37:56so they use
00:37:57Justin Jefferson
00:37:58as a decoy there
00:37:59and Jones takes it
00:38:00for a first down
00:38:01into Justin Reed
00:38:04haven't called his name
00:38:06a whole lot today
00:38:06obviously he and Kyler
00:38:08Murray have an
00:38:08interesting relationship
00:38:09they have battled
00:38:11in the finals
00:38:11of the Blitz Champs
00:38:13chess tournament
00:38:14two of the last three years
00:38:15and Reed has beaten
00:38:17Kyler Murray
00:38:18in the finals
00:38:19twice to win the title
00:38:20I was going to say
00:38:21if this game ends up
00:38:22in a tie
00:38:22somehow someway
00:38:24we know the tiebreaker
00:38:26absolutely
00:38:27let's get him
00:38:28set up a chessboard
00:38:29on the floor
00:38:30to lay
00:38:32we'll get Frenchy
00:38:33to document it
00:38:34backwards pass
00:38:35for Jefferson
00:38:36the former high school
00:38:36quarterback
00:38:37oh he almost threw a pick
00:38:38that ball was loose
00:38:40on the ground
00:38:40grabbed by Kyler Murray
00:38:42that was almost
00:38:43intercepted
00:38:43by Kobe Wooden
00:38:45oh my goodness
00:38:46look
00:38:47Justin Jefferson
00:38:48just didn't see him
00:38:50I mean
00:38:51they disguised
00:38:52everything about this
00:38:53looked great
00:38:53we saw it from the booth
00:38:54here
00:38:54the backwards pass
00:38:56you're thinking
00:38:57possibly it's something
00:38:58down the field
00:38:59no it's not
00:39:00you just
00:39:00you can't just
00:39:01throw it back
00:39:02blindly
00:39:04oh boy
00:39:05Kobe Wooden's
00:39:06going to see that
00:39:07ball in his
00:39:07nightmares tonight
00:39:08how many guys
00:39:09can say
00:39:10I intercepted
00:39:11Justin Jefferson
00:39:14well Kobe Wooden
00:39:15unfortunately for him
00:39:16cannot say that
00:39:17right now
00:39:18although he came
00:39:19darn close
00:39:19oh a break
00:39:21for Minnesota
00:39:21that could have
00:39:22gone eight ways
00:39:23from disaster
00:39:24and now a whistle
00:39:26and a timeout
00:39:26for the Vikings
00:39:29first
00:39:31charge timeout
00:39:32Minnesota
00:39:35Colby Wooden
00:39:36all he can do
00:39:37right now
00:39:37is just laugh
00:39:38about it
00:39:38knowing that he had
00:39:39one
00:39:39literally slipped
00:39:41through his
00:39:41fingertips
00:39:44he's looking
00:39:45man
00:39:46I almost had
00:39:48that pick
00:39:48on Janice
00:39:49timeout
00:39:51on the field
00:39:53timeout
00:39:53up seven
00:39:54almost halfway
00:39:55through the fourth
00:39:56trying to stay
00:39:56unbeaten
00:39:57he just avoided
00:39:58potential disaster
00:40:00as Colby Wooden
00:40:01almost picked off
00:40:02Justin Jefferson
00:40:03and Tyler Murray
00:40:04rescued the
00:40:04backwards pass
00:40:05and live ball
00:40:06so from their own
00:40:0748 yard line
00:40:09second and long
00:40:18Murray
00:40:19looking on the slant
00:40:20pumped it
00:40:21and then found
00:40:21Jefferson
00:40:22so they get
00:40:23to the 44 yard line
00:40:27get closer to
00:40:28Riker
00:40:29comfortable range
00:40:30in a dome
00:40:31he's hit a 62 yarder
00:40:32in his career
00:40:33so you're still
00:40:33a few yards away
00:40:34from there
00:40:35I was going to say
00:40:35critical here
00:40:36because you can make
00:40:37this a two possession
00:40:38game
00:40:38you can just get
00:40:39a few more yards
00:40:41here
00:40:41to make this a little
00:40:42bit more comfortable
00:40:43field goal
00:40:44for Riker
00:40:44obviously you got
00:40:45one of the best
00:40:46in the business
00:40:47so if I'm the Saints
00:40:49this is hyper aggressive
00:40:52to try to keep them
00:40:54on the outskirts
00:40:55of field goal range
00:40:58bring just four
00:40:59Murray
00:41:01looking for a window
00:41:03he's going to take off
00:41:03yet again
00:41:04and he's thinking
00:41:06field goal for
00:41:06a two possession lead
00:41:08as he takes it down
00:41:09inside the 40
00:41:10it'd be a 56 yarder
00:41:12from here
00:41:12and Kyler Murray
00:41:14continues to use
00:41:15his legs well
00:41:15look and what's
00:41:16amazing about this
00:41:17is truly
00:41:18Chase Young
00:41:19almost gets him there
00:41:19but for the most part
00:41:20the defensive front
00:41:22is truly just trying
00:41:23to rush
00:41:24to keep him
00:41:25in the pocket
00:41:25and somehow
00:41:26some way
00:41:27he's still finding
00:41:28a way
00:41:28to get himself
00:41:30out of there
00:41:30and get positive
00:41:31yardage
00:41:32that now is setting
00:41:33up a very realistic
00:41:35field goal opportunity
00:41:35for his team
00:41:36to make it a
00:41:37two possession game
00:41:38this is officially
00:41:40a 55 yarder
00:41:41from Riker
00:41:42and he continues
00:41:44to torch
00:41:46the netting
00:41:47behind the goal posts
00:41:49he has given
00:41:50Minnesota
00:41:51a 10 point advantage
00:41:52he's been the
00:41:52de facto MVP
00:41:53for the Vikings
00:41:54this year
00:41:55he puts him up 10
00:41:59Ditka passed away
00:42:00Friday at age 86
00:42:041963 NFL championship
00:42:06as a player
00:42:07of course
00:42:07Super Bowl XXI
00:42:08in this building
00:42:09with the Chicago Bears
00:42:10over the New England Patriots
00:42:12coached the Saints
00:42:12for three years
00:42:14in fact Doug Nussmeyer
00:42:15the offensive coordinator
00:42:16of the Saints
00:42:17only started two games
00:42:18in his NFL career
00:42:19at quarterback
00:42:20one of them
00:42:20was for Mike Ditka
00:42:221997
00:42:23won an NFL championship
00:42:25as a player
00:42:26a Super Bowl
00:42:27as a player
00:42:27with Dallas
00:42:28and then Super Bowl XX
00:42:29and then Super Bowl XX
00:42:29as a head coach
00:42:30the first ever tight end
00:42:31inducted into the Hall of Fame
00:42:32and he was not only
00:42:34an incredible player
00:42:36but brought that same
00:42:37physical mentality
00:42:39and psychology
00:42:40to the Chicago Bears
00:42:41was part of that
00:42:43Ricky Williams trade
00:42:43down here in New Orleans
00:42:45eight draft picks
00:42:46to Washington
00:42:48here's Jayden Price
00:42:50out of return
00:42:50for the Saints
00:42:51and he'll
00:42:52take it out
00:42:53near the 30-yard line
00:42:55Drew you talked about
00:42:56the story at the top
00:42:57facing Minnesota's
00:42:58pressure looks
00:42:59and disguise looks
00:43:00yeah look
00:43:01and you gotta have answers
00:43:02and
00:43:02they just force
00:43:03these negative plays
00:43:04in so many cases
00:43:05and so if you get
00:43:06into a drop back game
00:43:07with these guys
00:43:08you're gonna lose
00:43:09because they're gonna
00:43:09get somebody free
00:43:10they got too many
00:43:11one-on-one matchups
00:43:12up front
00:43:13so the best way
00:43:14to attack these guys
00:43:15is through the play action
00:43:16and unfortunately
00:43:17that's something
00:43:18that the Saints
00:43:18have done the least of
00:43:19one play action pass
00:43:20in the first quarter
00:43:21since then
00:43:22it's been a lot of running
00:43:23and being stuck
00:43:24in the shotgun
00:43:25because of penalties
00:43:26that have set them back
00:43:28and only four yards
00:43:29per play
00:43:29against the Blitz today
00:43:34this is only the tenth
00:43:35offensive play
00:43:36of that half
00:43:36for New Orleans
00:43:37it's a good one
00:43:38to Chris Olave
00:43:39picking up 11
00:43:40to the 41-yard line
00:43:41and look
00:43:42even though it's
00:43:43a two-possession game
00:43:44and you want tempo
00:43:45I don't think you need
00:43:47to be in the shotgun
00:43:48running like two-minute offense
00:43:49you can get under center
00:43:51you can run play action
00:43:52you can still run the football
00:43:53it's just with a heightened
00:43:54sense of urgency
00:43:56Chuck steps up
00:43:57against the pressure
00:43:58delivers a little late
00:43:59but on target to Vele
00:44:00he steps out of bounds
00:44:02the clock rules will change
00:44:03at the five-minute mark
00:44:04here in the fourth quarter
00:44:05that's when you step out of bounds
00:44:06and the clock doesn't start
00:44:07until the next snap
00:44:11these opportunities
00:44:11to huddle
00:44:12I think are critical
00:44:13because then you can get
00:44:14to some of these
00:44:15get-to plays
00:44:16some of these game pan plays
00:44:17that are going to take advantage
00:44:18of how aggressive
00:44:19this defense is
00:44:33four-man pressure
00:44:35underneath throw
00:44:36Vele has the first down
00:44:38into Minnesota territory
00:44:39so a couple of good pass plays
00:44:41to move the chains
00:44:43it's just remarkable
00:44:45how often
00:44:45the Minnesota defense
00:44:47gets a linebacker
00:44:49on a running back
00:44:50in protection
00:44:51and Alvin Kamara
00:44:53did a really nice job
00:44:54of picking up Eric Wilson
00:44:55which allowed
00:44:57Tyler Sharp
00:44:58to take advantage
00:44:58of the boys
00:44:59the defense
00:44:59but hard to make
00:45:00a living out of that
00:45:03we haven't seen
00:45:04a ton of Kamara snaps
00:45:06and I wonder if
00:45:07part of that
00:45:07is because
00:45:08they've had to lean
00:45:09on C.J. Donaldson
00:45:11and Kendra Miller
00:45:12guys who are about
00:45:12230 and 220 pounds
00:45:15to help pick up
00:45:15the pass rush
00:45:16and that was the feedback
00:45:17this week
00:45:18with C.J. Donaldson
00:45:19is really
00:45:20probably their best
00:45:21in pass pro
00:45:21and so truly
00:45:22if you know
00:45:22hey
00:45:23he's going to be
00:45:23blocking 250 pound
00:45:24linebackers
00:45:25who do you want
00:45:25it to be
00:45:26it's C.J. Donaldson
00:45:33and that was deflected
00:45:35over the line
00:45:35of scrimmage
00:45:37Chuck was trying to
00:45:38sidearm it
00:45:38Eric Wilson
00:45:39bringing pressure
00:45:40that time
00:45:40for the Minnesota
00:45:41defense
00:45:41to bring up
00:45:42third down
00:45:43now again
00:45:44you know
00:45:45you're putting
00:45:45Alvin Kamara
00:45:46in impossible situations
00:45:48he's having to
00:45:48literally block
00:45:49Eric Wilson
00:45:49three plays in a row
00:45:50he misses him
00:45:52this time
00:45:52and
00:45:52you're going to
00:45:53pay the price
00:45:56so now
00:45:57third down
00:45:57you're going to
00:45:57get some of
00:45:58that same
00:45:58formula
00:46:00but
00:46:01you're not
00:46:01in a must
00:46:02score
00:46:02touchdown
00:46:02situation
00:46:03you can
00:46:04certainly
00:46:04get the
00:46:04field goal
00:46:05still have
00:46:06it be a
00:46:06one possession
00:46:06game
00:46:07put your
00:46:07defense
00:46:07back out
00:46:08there
00:46:08to come
00:46:09up
00:46:09with a
00:46:09big
00:46:09stock
00:46:09flag is
00:46:11thrown
00:46:11on this
00:46:11play
00:46:11as Chuck
00:46:12is running
00:46:12around
00:46:13had to
00:46:13get rid
00:46:14of it
00:46:14fast
00:46:15Andrew
00:46:16Van
00:46:16Ginkle
00:46:17who's been
00:46:18dropping into
00:46:18coverage a lot
00:46:19today
00:46:20he comes in
00:46:21with some
00:46:21pressure
00:46:21that time
00:46:25Iowa scored
00:46:26five touchdowns
00:46:27in his career
00:46:29illegal shift
00:46:31offense
00:46:31number 18
00:46:32that penalty
00:46:33is declined
00:46:34fourth down
00:46:35two or more
00:46:37players changing
00:46:38position
00:46:38all at once
00:46:39everybody has
00:46:40to come to
00:46:40a full stop
00:46:41for a full
00:46:41second
00:46:43if you watch
00:46:44Van
00:46:44Ginkle here
00:46:45on the edge
00:46:46lined up
00:46:47against
00:46:47Fuaga
00:46:50just
00:46:50those speed
00:46:51rushes
00:46:52on the edge
00:46:54with him
00:46:54and then
00:46:54Dallas Turner
00:46:55on the other
00:46:56side
00:46:57so this
00:46:58would be
00:46:58a 62
00:46:59yard field
00:47:00goal
00:47:00this is
00:47:01out of
00:47:01Carlson's
00:47:02recorded
00:47:03range
00:47:05look at
00:47:05this right
00:47:06here
00:47:07they're just
00:47:08ready to
00:47:08drive on
00:47:09any quick
00:47:10throw
00:47:10well
00:47:11Shuck
00:47:11doesn't even
00:47:12have time
00:47:12he's got to
00:47:13get rid of it
00:47:13to Johnson
00:47:14he dives for
00:47:15the sticks
00:47:16he looked to
00:47:17be short
00:47:17initially
00:47:18that is the
00:47:19indication
00:47:19and it is a
00:47:20stop for
00:47:21Minnesota
00:47:21Josh
00:47:23Metellus
00:47:23was the one
00:47:24to come in
00:47:25this time
00:47:25and again
00:47:27he's coming
00:47:27from that
00:47:28level that
00:47:28it's 12
00:47:29yards off
00:47:29to start
00:47:30but by the
00:47:32time you
00:47:32throw that
00:47:33ball to the
00:47:33tight end
00:47:33everybody
00:47:34at this
00:47:35level of
00:47:35football
00:47:35rallies to the
00:47:36ball so
00:47:37quickly
00:47:37and so
00:47:38this idea
00:47:39that you
00:47:39can throw
00:47:40it short
00:47:40and go get
00:47:41the first
00:47:42down
00:47:42is not
00:47:43likely
00:47:43especially
00:47:44with as
00:47:44good a
00:47:44tacklers
00:47:45as this
00:47:46Minnesota
00:47:46Vikings
00:47:47defense is
00:47:47on the
00:47:47second
00:47:48level
00:47:50it's a lot
00:47:51of questions
00:47:52right now
00:47:52for this
00:47:53New Orleans
00:47:53offense
00:47:54you said
00:47:54it
00:47:54they have
00:47:54a tendency
00:47:55and an
00:47:55ability
00:47:56to be
00:47:57explosive
00:47:57but it's
00:47:59been very
00:47:59inconsistent
00:48:00so far
00:48:00Adam
00:48:00being the
00:48:01Hall of
00:48:01Famer
00:48:01Drew
00:48:01Christina
00:48:02picked
00:48:02down
00:48:02on the
00:48:02field
00:48:03how do
00:48:04you solve
00:48:05somebody like
00:48:06Brian
00:48:06Flores
00:48:06it's easier
00:48:07said than
00:48:08done
00:48:08but how do
00:48:08you have
00:48:09to attack
00:48:10this Minnesota
00:48:10defense
00:48:10because they've
00:48:11pretty much
00:48:11done what
00:48:12they've wanted
00:48:12to do
00:48:12throughout the
00:48:13day
00:48:13well I can
00:48:13tell you
00:48:13what they
00:48:14want you
00:48:14to do
00:48:14they want
00:48:15you to be
00:48:15in shotgun
00:48:16and then
00:48:17they're just
00:48:17going to
00:48:17confuse you
00:48:18they're going
00:48:18to blow up
00:48:18your backs
00:48:19they're going
00:48:19to blow up
00:48:19your tight ends
00:48:20and they're
00:48:20going to make
00:48:21you get the
00:48:21ball out of
00:48:21your hands
00:48:22sooner than
00:48:23you want
00:48:23they're going
00:48:24to force
00:48:24turnovers
00:48:24and they're
00:48:25going to hit
00:48:25the quarterback
00:48:25a lot
00:48:26so what do
00:48:27you have
00:48:27to do
00:48:27look you
00:48:28have to run
00:48:29the ball
00:48:29effectively
00:48:29you have
00:48:30to be okay
00:48:30with the
00:48:30one and
00:48:31two yard
00:48:31runs
00:48:31but the
00:48:32play-action
00:48:33pass
00:48:33is where
00:48:34you can
00:48:34positively
00:48:35impact
00:48:36this defense
00:48:37their biggest
00:48:38play of the
00:48:39game was
00:48:39throwing that
00:48:40deep curl
00:48:41in the first
00:48:42quarter off
00:48:42of a nice
00:48:43play-action
00:48:43fake to
00:48:44Chris Alave
00:48:44and honestly
00:48:45that's
00:48:45Chris Alave
00:48:46strength too
00:48:47is stretching
00:48:47this defense
00:48:48I mean the
00:48:48guy's got the
00:48:49highest burst
00:48:49rate in the
00:48:50NFL
00:48:50he gets from
00:48:51zero to
00:48:5160 really
00:48:52really fast
00:48:53he forces a
00:48:54big cushion
00:48:55they haven't
00:48:56been able
00:48:56to get a
00:48:57lot of
00:48:57those chunks
00:48:57and so
00:48:58it's just
00:48:59put them
00:48:59into these
00:49:00third-long
00:49:00situations
00:49:01penalties
00:49:02and just
00:49:03problematic
00:49:04looks which
00:49:05this defense
00:49:06thrives on
00:49:07for you
00:49:09Jones
00:49:10closing in
00:49:11on 100 yards
00:49:12rushing on
00:49:13the day
00:49:14this has been
00:49:16a heavily
00:49:17leaned on
00:49:18veteran
00:49:1820 plus
00:49:19touches
00:49:21in four
00:49:21straight games
00:49:22now
00:49:24going back
00:49:24to week
00:49:25one
00:49:26yeah I'd
00:49:27say this
00:49:27he can
00:49:27certainly
00:49:28do it
00:49:28it's not
00:49:28sustainable
00:49:29for the
00:49:29whole season
00:49:30which is why
00:49:30they're going
00:49:30to really
00:49:31love having
00:49:31Jordan Mason
00:49:32back here
00:49:33in a few
00:49:34weeks probably
00:49:34but a guy
00:49:36that can
00:49:36handle the
00:49:37load in a
00:49:38lot of
00:49:38different ways
00:49:39both the
00:49:39inside zone
00:49:40run game
00:49:40and he's a
00:49:41very capable
00:49:41receiver out
00:49:42of the backfield
00:49:42Christina you
00:49:43can add on
00:49:44Aaron Jones
00:49:44senior
00:49:45well yeah
00:49:4531 years old
00:49:46in year 10
00:49:47he said
00:49:47sometimes people
00:49:48see the age
00:49:49and they think
00:49:49you're washed up
00:49:50and you start
00:49:51to regress
00:49:52he said
00:49:52but the one
00:49:52thing I do
00:49:53is I try to
00:49:54check all the
00:49:54boxes and let
00:49:55people know
00:49:55you can still
00:49:55play this game
00:49:56at a high
00:49:56level
00:49:57at this age
00:49:59very impressive
00:50:00from Jones
00:50:01and had a battle
00:50:02through last year
00:50:04some injury issues
00:50:04last season
00:50:05he's got 97 yards
00:50:07on the ground
00:50:07today
00:50:09Murray's protected
00:50:10against a rush
00:50:11and he throws it
00:50:12to Bartholomew
00:50:12he's going to be
00:50:13hit by Kool-Aid
00:50:15McKinstry a few
00:50:16yards shy
00:50:16of the marker
00:50:17but now you get
00:50:17the clock down
00:50:18to four minutes
00:50:18another timeout
00:50:20used here
00:50:20from New Orleans
00:50:21their second
00:50:26and you said
00:50:27it too
00:50:27going back
00:50:28to the second
00:50:29half last week
00:50:30against Miami
00:50:30Kyler Murray
00:50:31was starting
00:50:31to find a rhythm
00:50:32that has carried
00:50:33over today
00:50:33yeah
00:50:34the timing
00:50:35and rhythm
00:50:36of this just
00:50:36drawback passing
00:50:37game
00:50:37is something
00:50:38that today
00:50:39he's taken
00:50:40to the next level
00:50:41he's taken
00:50:41that next step
00:50:42obviously having
00:50:43guys like Justin
00:50:44Jefferson back
00:50:45in the lineup
00:50:45is crucial
00:50:46and just imagine
00:50:47when he has
00:50:47kind of the full
00:50:48breadth of his
00:50:49weapons with
00:50:50Addison
00:50:50and TJ
00:50:51Hockinson
00:50:52who unfortunately
00:50:52went out
00:50:53after play
00:50:53number one
00:50:54I'd say the
00:50:55thing that he
00:50:55needs to continue
00:50:56to work on
00:50:57is his ability
00:50:58to stand firm
00:50:59in the pocket
00:50:59and just progress
00:51:01down the field
00:51:02they had some
00:51:02opportunities today
00:51:03with possibly
00:51:04being able to
00:51:05throw some of
00:51:05these deep
00:51:06over routes
00:51:06deep in cuts
00:51:07that I think
00:51:08against
00:51:09you know
00:51:10teams that
00:51:11maybe have a
00:51:11better answer
00:51:12for what's
00:51:12happening on
00:51:13the other side
00:51:13of the ball
00:51:15and are forcing
00:51:15them to have
00:51:16to drive
00:51:16and score
00:51:16some points
00:51:17they're going
00:51:18to need
00:51:18to be able
00:51:18to make
00:51:18those big plays
00:51:20very efficient
00:51:21from Murray
00:51:21today
00:51:2280% completion
00:51:23rate
00:51:26they were to
00:51:27honor you
00:51:27in this building
00:51:28a guy who was
00:51:28up around 70%
00:51:30for a pitch
00:51:30of your career
00:51:32it's a very
00:51:32efficient performance
00:51:34from Kyler Murray
00:51:39Foxtoberfest
00:51:39rolls on tonight
00:51:41game one
00:51:42National League
00:51:42Championship Series
00:51:43this is going to be
00:51:44one of the best
00:51:44pitching matchups
00:51:45you're going to see
00:51:45all year
00:51:45Tarek Skubel
00:51:46against Jacob
00:51:47Mizorowski
00:51:48likely combining
00:51:49for three Cy Youngs
00:51:50when it's all said
00:51:51and done this season
00:51:52you'll get game
00:51:53two tomorrow night
00:51:54and then on Saturday
00:51:55Indiana
00:51:56reigning national
00:51:57champs coming back
00:51:58on the road
00:51:59against Nebraska
00:52:00yesterday
00:52:00highly anticipated
00:52:02matchup coming up
00:52:03against the Ohio
00:52:04State Buckeyes
00:52:05a couple of teams
00:52:06that have won a couple
00:52:06of national titles
00:52:07in the last few years
00:52:09can't wait for that one
00:52:12all right so
00:52:13you've only got one
00:52:14time out
00:52:15you do have to be
00:52:16a little bit aggressive
00:52:16I think about the
00:52:17screen game as well
00:52:18just don't think you
00:52:19can make a living
00:52:20having these running
00:52:20backs block linebackers
00:52:22all day
00:52:23and Chuck ends up
00:52:24getting tripped up
00:52:25and Andrew Van Ginkle
00:52:27will get credit
00:52:27for the sack
00:52:28his fourth of the year
00:52:30in his sixth season
00:52:32out of eight
00:52:33in this league
00:52:34playing for Brian Flores
00:52:35yeah they just wear you
00:52:37down and look
00:52:37they're so fresh
00:52:38today too
00:52:38because they've only
00:52:40had to play 40 plays
00:52:41but Van Ginkle up top
00:52:42just showing you
00:52:44that even at 250 pounds
00:52:45going up against
00:52:47Fuaga at 325 pounds
00:52:49you just use leverage
00:52:52and it's a Donaldson here
00:52:54that is a 33rd straight
00:52:56game for Minnesota's
00:52:57defense with a sack
00:52:59that's the longest
00:53:00streak in the NFL
00:53:02and it's so many
00:53:03of these guys
00:53:04you know Dallas
00:53:05Turner obviously
00:53:06leads the league
00:53:07in pressures this year
00:53:08thus far
00:53:08but when you've got
00:53:09Van Ginkle on the
00:53:10other side
00:53:11the amount of times
00:53:12that Eric Wilson
00:53:13and Blake Cashman
00:53:13are rushing the passer
00:53:14Kyle Van Hoy
00:53:16coming in as well
00:53:17as a very capable
00:53:18reserve
00:53:18they've just got a lot
00:53:20of guys that can do
00:53:20it for him
00:53:21uh oh
00:53:21Chuck throws it up
00:53:23for grabs
00:53:23and that is the
00:53:24second pick of the
00:53:25day for Byron Murphy
00:53:27Jr
00:53:33was right there
00:53:34hip to hip
00:53:35with Chris Olave
00:53:36and Brian Flores
00:53:37his defense
00:53:39continues to impose
00:53:40its will
00:53:41on an opponent
00:53:43yeah it looks like
00:53:44Tyler was just
00:53:45just trying to give
00:53:47Olave a chance
00:53:48unfortunately
00:53:48Olave slows down
00:53:49a little bit
00:53:50as you can see
00:53:51they're trying to take
00:53:52advantage of
00:53:53the pressure look
00:53:54and maybe Byron Murphy
00:53:55possibly driving
00:53:55on the slant
00:54:00that's his second
00:54:01second
00:54:02interception of the
00:54:03day
00:54:04he lets him know
00:54:05about it too
00:54:06guy who's playing
00:54:07more boundary corner
00:54:08this year than at any
00:54:09point in his career
00:54:10and he's had some
00:54:10moments where he's
00:54:11got to go up against
00:54:12number one guys
00:54:12but he has
00:54:14comported himself quite
00:54:15well in that positioning
00:54:17and he's got
00:54:18what is his
00:54:1919th career
00:54:20interception now
00:54:2114 have come
00:54:23in his four seasons
00:54:24with the Minnesota
00:54:25Vikings who are now
00:54:26in salt the clock
00:54:27away mode
00:54:28well K-Man and
00:54:29Isaiah Rogers
00:54:30are probably two of the
00:54:31perfect corners
00:54:32from the perspective
00:54:33of the way that they
00:54:34play
00:54:34they both are
00:54:35tough
00:54:35feisty
00:54:36they'll come up
00:54:36and tackle
00:54:37they've got good
00:54:37zone awareness
00:54:38they're veteran guys
00:54:39good ball skills
00:54:40but think about
00:54:41what they do
00:54:42in this defense
00:54:42they're not
00:54:44pressing
00:54:45you know
00:54:45running with guys
00:54:46a lot
00:54:46they're off
00:54:47their eyes are
00:54:48on the quarterback
00:54:49quarterbacks are
00:54:50having to get the
00:54:50ball out before
00:54:51they want
00:54:51they're good
00:54:51at reading splits
00:54:52reading different
00:54:54pass concepts
00:54:55and so they're able
00:54:56to they know
00:54:57when they can
00:54:57take chances
00:54:57they know
00:54:58when they can
00:54:58drive
00:54:58they know
00:54:59when they need
00:54:59to play a little
00:55:00bit more conservative
00:55:01it's just
00:55:03it makes this
00:55:04defense so complete
00:55:05when you have
00:55:06the pass rush
00:55:07and pressure
00:55:07component
00:55:08matched with
00:55:08guys on the back
00:55:09end
00:55:09that just have
00:55:10that level
00:55:11of ball production
00:55:21Saints are on
00:55:21a timeout
00:55:22cannot stop
00:55:23the clock again
00:55:23two minute warning
00:55:24still to come
00:55:25and Aaron Jones
00:55:26over a hundred
00:55:27yards on the day
00:55:31gotta put away
00:55:32another victory
00:55:33for the currently
00:55:34unbeaten
00:55:35Minnesota Vikings
00:55:36that is the
00:55:3724th career
00:55:38game
00:55:39of a hundred
00:55:40plus rushing yards
00:55:42for the 10-year
00:55:42veteran Aaron Jones
00:55:51one of only three
00:55:53unbeatens left
00:55:54Chiefs are off
00:55:54today
00:55:55they'll get the
00:55:55Chargers next week
00:55:56and then you'll see
00:55:58in just a little bit
00:56:0049ers on the road
00:56:01against the reigning
00:56:02Super Bowl champion
00:56:03Seahawks at
00:56:04America's game of the
00:56:05week and Minnesota
00:56:06is two minutes away
00:56:08from becoming the
00:56:09first 5-0 team
00:56:11in the NFL
00:56:12this season
00:56:14look at
00:56:15and you told me
00:56:16that beginning of the
00:56:17year I would have
00:56:17expected San Francisco
00:56:18I would have
00:56:19expected Kansas City
00:56:20I think this is
00:56:21this is quite the
00:56:21surprise especially
00:56:22the way that they've
00:56:23done it
00:56:23we are professional
00:56:25grading
00:56:28State Farm game
00:56:29break is coming up
00:56:30next after a happy
00:56:31homecoming for Justin
00:56:32Jefferson and an
00:56:34excellent game on the
00:56:35ground for Aaron Jones
00:56:36Senior in the absence
00:56:37of both TJ Hawkinson
00:56:39and Jordan Addison
00:56:40Hawkinson had to leave
00:56:41with injury in the first
00:56:42half
00:56:43Odell Beckham Jr.
00:56:44was not active today
00:56:45after signing earlier
00:56:46this week so a lot of
00:56:48weight on Kyler Murray
00:56:49Aaron Jones and Justin
00:56:51Jefferson and boy did
00:56:52they step up along with
00:56:53this Minnesota defense
00:56:54I think if you're a
00:56:54Vikings fan you have to
00:56:55be excited about the
00:56:56offense right now and
00:56:58they're they're ascending
00:57:00once they get all of
00:57:01their weapons healthy
00:57:02and look they just they
00:57:04have an ability now at
00:57:06quarterback that they
00:57:06haven't had you know
00:57:07Kyler just brings this
00:57:08element of being able to
00:57:10extend plays and solve
00:57:12problems with his legs
00:57:14that they've never really
00:57:15had they're gonna have a
00:57:16solid run game they've
00:57:17got weapons to be able to
00:57:19distribute the ball to in
00:57:20the past game but when it
00:57:21breaks down you have a guy
00:57:23who can get outside the
00:57:24pocket and solve problems
00:57:25for you that's what Kyler
00:57:26gives them the ability to
00:57:28do this is the 11th time in
00:57:3166 years the Vikings had
00:57:33started a season 4-0 this
00:57:35would be the ninth time they
00:57:37moved to 5-0 to begin a
00:57:38year this is one of
00:57:40football's hottest teams
00:57:41obviously with the break from
00:57:42last year but they've
00:57:44finished strong last season
00:57:45after a 4-8 start they won
00:57:46their final five games ended
00:57:48up over 500 and they've won
00:57:50their first five this season
00:57:5110 game win streak back to
00:57:53last year it ties the fourth
00:57:54longest in franchise history
00:57:56look I'm I'm really amazed at
00:57:57this defense right now and I'll
00:58:00be interested to see as they
00:58:01play some more high-powered
00:58:03offenses I know they played the
00:58:04Bears week too it's kind of a
00:58:05sloppy game at Soldier Field but
00:58:10if they can continue to I mean they
00:58:13gave up seven points today to a
00:58:15highly explosive offense at you
00:58:17know in the dome here they're
00:58:19only averaging giving up 12.8
00:58:21they're taking the ball away
00:58:22they're getting after you both in
00:58:24the run game and with the
00:58:25pressure packages in the pass game
00:58:26they just create so many
00:58:28opportunities for the other side
00:58:29of the ball and they've got one
00:58:31of the better special teams
00:58:31return units and kicking units so
00:58:34they are very very complete right
00:58:36now they'll have a bye as well
00:58:38next week so they'll get to feel
00:58:40real good going into the bye as
00:58:42Jeff Justin Jefferson gets to come
00:58:44back home from St. Rose Louisiana
00:58:46just about 20 miles up the river
00:58:49playing in the Superdome in front
00:58:51of a packed house for the first
00:58:52time his only other game in this
00:58:54building was during the pandemic
00:58:55in 2020 in front of about 3,000
00:58:57fans an emotional day a touchdown
00:59:00added and this Minnesota team goes
00:59:02into the bye feeling very good
00:59:04they'll get back at it in week 7
00:59:06against the Indianapolis Colts the
00:59:08Saints meanwhile will be on the
00:59:10road in the Meadowlands against
00:59:11the Giants will have that game for
00:59:13you then they'll head to Paris to
00:59:15take on the Steelers and then
00:59:17they'll have their bye week they'll
00:59:19limp into the Meadowlands at 1 and
00:59:204 while the Vikings go into the
00:59:22bye feeling fresh at 5 and 0
00:59:28from Destrahan to LSU to back in New
00:59:34Orleans with the Minnesota Vikings
00:59:36Jefferson six catches 79 yards he was
00:59:39one of 10 different receivers that
00:59:41Kyler Murray found that's a career
00:59:43high today Jettus and the Vikings are
00:59:46still unbeaten for Drew Brees the
00:59:48Hall of Famer for Christina Pink and
00:59:50the wonderful women and men of our Fox
00:59:52sports crew I'm Adam Amin sending you to
