Digital-first live production for smaller teams: how ITV and EuroLeague added live shows without a production truck or a temporary facility.
ITV streamed its official Love Island podcast, The Morning After, live for the first time on ITVX and YouTube, linking the main show in Majorca with the podcast studio in London. For the series final it also sent a 30-minute live teaser to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube at once. EuroLeague produced a TikTok LIVE show on El Clásico day in Barcelona using one portable encoder and a remote editor, who added graphics and clipped highlights from a web browser.
Key points:
1. Both teams added live formats next to existing coverage instead of replacing it.
2. Cloud tools reduce the equipment needed, but both projects relied on remote editing, coordination and resilience planning.
3. Teams can start with one recurring format and add outside feed routing, recording and scheduling as volume grows.
LiveU tie-in: both projects used LiveU Studio, a browser-based cloud production tool. LiveU reports that Studio supports up to 12 sources on its Elite package and up to 30 output destinations on Pro and Elite, with usage-based pricing. LiveU Nexus, Ingest and Schedule cover outside feeds, automatic recording, and booking and orchestration.
