AccuWeather correspondent Leslie Hudson highlights some of the damage left behind in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Transcript
00:00As a native Floridian, I want to hear kind of your perspective of this storm.
00:03And then also, I know you have some damage to talk to us about.
00:06As you mentioned, we got a pretty decent impact here in Panama City Beach.
00:11Our gusts were in the range from 60 to 80 miles an hour officially.
00:16And the gusts where we were riding out the storm was in the neighborhood of 60.
00:20Bernie was verifying that on the radar with the Doppler.
00:23And I told him, you know, I've covered, I don't even know, over 100 hurricanes probably in my career.
00:28And usually when I can't stand, I know that we're gusting into the 60s because I can stand in the
00:3350s and below.
00:34But when we're getting into the 60s, I have a hard time standing.
00:37So I knew we were in the 60s. He verified that in terms of some of the.
00:43So still having some connection issues.
00:46We lost Leslie's audio, which is so unfortunate because I know she has so much to share.
00:51We can. But you can find more of the video that she captured in her reporting on AccuWeather.com.
00:57From Panama City Beach, Florida there and where she was last night.
01:01You're seeing some of the video right now that she captured some of the structural damage here.
01:05We haven't seen a lot of significant structural damage.
01:08I mean, we've been showing you over and over the clip from Ali of the roof of a hotel or
01:12motel being blown off.
01:14But there's that that light pole that Leslie walked us through.
01:17She gave us some context here.
01:18This is an enterprise rental car lot.
01:21So it was a rental car, which I I don't know.
01:23That seems better than I guess it wasn't somebody else's car.
01:26But obviously unfortunate for enterprise and the employees there.
01:28They're going to have to deal with, you know, figuring out the damages.
01:32The car totaled all of that.
01:34And thankfully, it sounds like nobody was in the car when this happened, since it's a rental car lot,
01:38because that certainly could have been very, very dangerous.
