A moderately explosive eruption has been recorded at the Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
The eruption occurred at 12:46 p.m., generating an ash plume that rose 5-6 kilometers above the summit crater. The volcano remains under Alert Level 2. (Video courtesy of DOST-PHIVOLCS)
