00:00My holiday love language, food, lying down,
00:03food, lying down, food.
00:07Hi, I'm Florence Pugh,
00:09and I'm reading some beautiful postcards
00:11and reminiscing on memories with Condé Nast Traveller.
00:22I'm gonna pick, ooh, that was a good one.
00:25I didn't even see, but New Zealand.
00:29And sightseeing or sun lounger?
00:31Sun lounger, sorry.
00:35I love to lie down and feel peaceful and read
00:38and just like let the sun kiss my skin
00:40and swim in the sea and eat amazing food
00:43and then go back to lying back down
00:45and then get back up and eat more amazing food.
00:48That's just, that's my holiday love language.
00:51Food, lying down, food, lying down, food.
00:54Best place to sun lounge that you feel?
00:57Probably Greece. I love sun lounging in Greece
01:00just because I feel like A, the people are gorgeous
01:03and all of the grannies and the mums that like
01:07completely run their whole family in the tavernas
01:09just always make my heart feel full.
01:11And the food, I don't think we can,
01:14I think Greek cuisine is the best cuisine
01:17because it just nails every single element perfectly.
01:22Protein, perfect.
01:24Vegetables, perfect.
01:25Homegrown goods, perfect.
01:26Tzatziki, perfect.
01:28It's perfect.
01:31Gosh.
01:34Oh, Kuala Lumpur.
01:39Beautiful city.
01:40Great food, fantastic food.
01:43Nominate your eighth wonder of the world.
01:46Probably the Acropolis.
01:48That was such a special experience
01:50and we shot there at nighttime on Little Drummer Girl
01:54and no one was up there.
01:56So I'll never, ever, ever get that experience
01:58ever again in my life because we were alone,
02:01just the crew and the cast.
02:03And all of the lights were lighting up the pillars
02:07and there was this beautiful shot
02:08that Director Park Chan-wook had me do
02:11where I was dancing and the shadows were on,
02:13on the building and the ruins.
02:15And it was just like, it was a pinch me moment all evening.
02:19And it was the only night shoot
02:20that I hadn't cared what time it was
02:22just because it was so dreamy to be there.
02:24Is there somewhere that should be a wonder of the world?
02:27Oh, somewhere that should be a wonder of the world.
02:31Oh, Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh.
02:34I love that.
02:35I love how you get to look at it from all around the city.
02:38And then when you climb up there,
02:40you just get the most fantastic sense of like,
02:44well, I've always done it when I'm knackered.
02:47And at the top, I know that like when I've made it,
02:49I can breathe and I can have my snacks
02:51and I can look at the view and then I can go down
02:53and find a good pint somewhere.
02:54So it's definitely a very successful feeling
02:58when you get to the top.
03:02Ooh, Tangier.
03:04Yes.
03:05What's your biggest holiday red flag?
03:09Yeah, I don't know what my, oh, okay.
03:11It's not more of a holiday red flag.
03:13It's more of like the people that join you
03:14on the holiday red flag.
03:16People that don't understand sun cream and sand,
03:19it really bothers me.
03:21And I don't know why it really bothers me,
03:22but it just does.
03:23When you put sun cream on,
03:24do not sit in the sand and then be surprised
03:26that there's sand stuck to your body.
03:28That just really grinds my gears.
03:30Anyway.
03:31Oh, I missed that one.
03:32And that one.
03:36Let's do Rio de Janeiro.
03:39Describe a holiday disaster.
03:42Um, or
03:47holiday disaster.
03:49Oh, I tell you what is a holiday disaster.
03:51When you've purposefully woken up early
03:53to put the towel on the loungers,
03:55and then you like go and have a little coffee.
03:58And it's like early.
03:59I'm not talking like you're wasting time,
04:00but it's early.
04:01It's like seven.
04:02And then you go back to your loungers
04:04and someone has moved your towel onto the floor
04:06so that they can have the lounger.
04:08That is just.
04:13I feel like you should get a red mark on you if you do that.
04:17So everybody else is aware that like
04:19you're the type of person that would move towels
04:21so that you can get the lounger.
04:23Also, we can share.
04:24Let's just talk about sharing.
04:26Why, why budge my stuff?
04:27Oh, let's do Concord.
04:30What memories do you have from your childhood holidays?
04:34Oh, um.
04:38Sunburn.
04:39Sunburn on my shoulders and on my thighs.
04:44Running around feral, just like,
04:47just wanting to be a part of every adventure.
04:52Eating tuna salads as a child when we were in Spain.
04:56Just like having big chunks of albacore tuna
04:59with like chunky bits of cucumber.
05:01Just, I remember that like dribbling down my chin
05:03and loving that sensation.
05:06Forgetting to eat because you're just playing
05:08for so many hours in the pool and you're like,
05:10actually shattered and then you finally eat
05:13and you're like.
05:14Oh, it's like you forgot to breathe for 10 hours.
05:19What else?
05:20Oh, going on a boat and then when you go to bed at night,
05:23you're like waving.
05:24I used to love that sensation.
05:26Like I still thought that I'd be on the boat.
05:28So I'd close my eyes and like fully pretend that I was at the front of the boat.
05:32That's a good memory.
05:34And fishing.
05:35I used to fish a lot with my dad when I was younger.
05:37And that was just a really sweet day that Toby, my brother,
05:42and my dad and I would do together and bond and then put the fish back in the sea.
05:52Omaru!
05:54This place is so wicked.
05:56I loved it.
05:57I loved being there so much.
05:58And all of these old, old buildings,
06:01such old buildings that haven't been touched
06:03and the streets are so wide.
06:05It's like the era that they were built in in a completely different way
06:09because there's no tall buildings.
06:11All you get is how it was created originally.
06:15It's really, really special.
06:17That's in the South Island in New Zealand.
06:25What is your favorite city?
06:29I loved Auckland.
06:31I really, really did.
06:32I thought that was a very special place.
06:35Auckland and maybe Tokyo, just because it's so special and otherworldly
06:45and not like things that I see every day.
06:50So yeah, those two places.
06:59Lovely Venice with my favorite, Aperol's Prince.
07:04Do you collect souvenirs?
07:05I do, actually.
07:06In the last few years, I've started to collect.
07:10When I was younger and I looked at magnets in tourist shops,
07:15I always thought, who buys them?
07:18I've become that person.
07:19I buy magnets.
07:21But the rule is you either get a really beautiful, ornate, stunningly created, designed one,
07:30or if they don't have those, then you get the tackiest, most disgusting, cheap, yucky one.
07:37And so my fridge is this fantastic array of beautiful magnets and awful magnets, and I love it.
07:44My favorite was, I went to Sri Lanka last year, and you know the Lion Beer?
07:54Well, there's a little bottle that is the Lion Beer, and the liquid moves on the inside,
07:58and I just thought that was quite cool.
