00:00You would think after 400 hours of playing Valheim in Early Access, the idea of starting over would nauseate me.
00:06But no, I've added almost another 100 hours to my playtime after starting a fresh journey from the meadows to
00:11the 1.0 build's new Deep North biome.
00:14And I love playing Vikings today just as much as I did five years ago.
00:17The endgame's Deep North is a gorgeous frozen wasteland that I love building in.
00:21It looks like a scene taken straight from a Christmas card.
00:24It's nice that after years of adding new biomes that feel impossible to build in, we get this mostly flat
00:29winter wonderland with big clearings for building sprawling Viking villages with your friends in.
00:34Just beware of the trolls, though I guess that's universal wisdom for every biome.
00:39Years of patches culminating in this moment make Valheim's journey from low-level wanderer to Viking warrior god finally feel
00:45good from start to finish, too.
00:46Some quality of life tweaks throughout the world and new mid-game tools like the grappling hook make all the
00:51stuff I've seen before more enjoyable a second time through.
00:54And that's before I even get to the new biome.
00:56And when my mighty Viking warrior is all tuckered out at night, I get to see his dreams animated in
01:01shades of cartoonish badassery.
01:03Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil the new cutscenes, but I will say I love them as a little
01:07treat between the game's big moments.
01:09They have thoughtful wink and nod nudges towards your next destination and they're all quite stylish to boot.
01:14It's very 90s, very Pirates of the Dark Water, and perfect for Valheim.
