Meta and other companies are backing a personal-agent protocol to authenticate AI agents and clarify access to business websites. The standard aims to improve user control and transparency around agent activity.

00:11agent protocol would help companies authenticate agents, determine whether they are acting on
00:16behalf of a person, and gain visibility into their activity. The effort comes a month after
00:20Meta launched Muse, which has attracted millions of US users. Amazon has blocked Meta's agents
00:26and perplexities AI agent over concerns about website scraping. Enterprise AI startup Sierra,
00:31which Brett Taylor co-founded after serving as Salesforce co-CEO, is part of the group.
00:36Taylor, who is leading the initiative, said the standard could reduce uncertainty around
00:41agent access. Meta's David Singleton said the protocol could also provide greater control
