00:00Okay, let's get into the Dodgers.
00:03They are now one win away from going to the NLCS yet again.
00:07That would be their third straight NLCS.
00:10Still one game left.
00:11They are in Atlanta.
00:12They beat the Braves 3-1 at Truist Park.
00:16They now lead the NLDS 2-1.
00:18Yoshinobu Yamamoto, I mean, I don't know what else I can say about this guy.
00:21If you don't know about how good Yamamoto is in the playoffs,
00:25I don't know what to tell you.
00:26He was dominant yet again.
00:28This was an awesome pitching matchup.
00:30You had Chris Sale on one side.
00:32You had Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the other side.
00:35Yamamoto goes seven innings, four hits, one run, 10 Ks,
00:38which is his postseason career high.
00:41He's now 8-1 in his postseason career, which is insane.
00:46And Chris Sale, five innings, three runs.
00:49Not as sharp as you'd like to see from Chris Sale.
00:53All three runs from the Dodgers came in the fourth inning.
00:55Their bullpen was lights out after Yamamoto.
00:59Tanner Scott came in.
01:00Edwin Diaz got a save.
01:02How about that?
01:02Edwin Diaz has life, everybody.
01:05Shohei Otani, the big story, John, was Shohei Otani being moved down to fifth.
01:09They kind of mixed up this lineup.
01:11And everyone's like, how could you move a multiple-time MVP down to fifth?
01:15He's getting paid all this money, and he's hitting fifth.
01:18And I don't think people realize how bad he's been for like three months now.
01:24So that was the big story.
01:25He went 0 for 4.
01:27Tay Oscar went 0 for 4.
01:28Just what are your thoughts on this Dodgers-Braves series so far?
01:31I mean, it was a really good game.
01:33We've gotten some really good games.
01:34They've all been within two, three runs, so it's not like they've been blowouts.
01:38But the Dodgers just look like the better team.
01:40These have been three really great baseball games.
01:43Yeah.
01:43I don't necessarily take anything away from it.
01:46I think that we went into this knowing that the Dodgers were a better team.
01:50We went into this knowing that the Dodgers were a favorite to win it.
01:54The fact that the Braves were able to win a game on the road just shows you how good that
01:57they are.
01:58And so the idea of Otani hitting fifth, he's hurt.
02:04He's clearly hurt, and he's trying to do the best that he can just being out there.
02:10He knows me being out here is better than anybody else we got over here, and this is a really
02:14good team.
02:15But you also, you can't hit me first because I can't do anything for you.
02:20Anything I hit will just be gravy in this lineup right now.
02:23Because if I remember correctly, he's got an elbow and what's the other thing?
02:27He's got biceps injury, and then he's got a knee tendinitis thing.
02:32So kind of two.
02:33Those are two things you really need to swing a baseball.
02:35Yeah.
02:37A baseball bat, I mean.
02:38You really need those things.
02:39And he's not pitching anymore, too, John.
02:40Right, and so he's got some significant injuries going on.
02:46And so him gutting it out and just being out there, I think that's a sign.
02:50That gives the Dodgers energy for everybody to now pull together because look what he's going through.
02:55He's still out here.
02:56Yeah.
02:56And so at this point in baseball, everybody's got something.
03:00Yeah, true.
03:00So I thought today's game was well played by both sides.
03:04Listen, Chris, that's a good outing.
03:06That's a good outing at this time of the year against that lineup.
03:08I don't care who's – the who's who is in the lineup.
03:12So therefore, they can all hurt you at some given point in time like they did, like they demonstrated today.
03:17So, you know, the Dodgers were the better team.
03:20They were predicted to win, and they're probably going to.
03:23They struggled during the season with Atlanta, but they seem to have rectified whatever that was because it's go time
03:29now.
03:29Yeah, a lot of people, including myself, have been just the whole seasons.
03:34And we'll just wait until October.
03:35Just wait.
03:36We'll see what happens when we get to October.
03:38And, yeah, you could beat the Dodgers in the regular season.
03:41You could beat them.
03:42You could sweep them.
03:43In fact, the Brewers last year swept the Dodgers in the regular season.
03:46The Dodgers swept them in the NLCS.
03:48Right.
03:49So that's why I keep trying to tell people.
03:50And the way the Dodgers lined up these games to where it was Scooble to begin in game one as
03:57opposed to Yamamoto, you would think, oh, well, the reigning World Series MVP, the guy that pitched in back-to
04:03-back games that was unbelievable in the World Series, he'll get the ball game one.
04:06No, they went lefty-lefty, and then they kept Yamamoto for a road game in Atlanta, which I think was
04:12the absolutely smart idea just based on the history of seeing Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the playoffs.
04:19And he lived up to that.
04:20Like, John, when we talk about, and I know it's still early on in Yamamoto's career, but when we talk
04:26about the elite playoff pitchers of our generation, his name is going to come up now.
04:31Like, if he keeps pitching like this, I mean, this is incredible stuff, what he's doing.
04:36I thought starting Scooble was the right thing to do.
04:39Yeah, me too.
04:40There was a report that he wants $500 million.
04:46Who else you going to pitch first?
04:48What?
04:49Huh?
04:50I mean, the Yamamoto's making, what, $325,000, so it's like, okay.
04:55Cool.
04:56That ain't $500.
04:58The man wants $500 million.
05:01While you got him for cheap, make him prove he's worth it.
05:04Sure.
05:06So, you know, I didn't necessarily, I don't, that's so funny.
05:10I don't, I thought they played it perfectly.
05:13The reason, I gotta, I gotta be transparent.
05:15The reason why we're on edge right now, the Padres are playing in a tie game right now as we're
05:19recording this.
05:20It's the top of the fifth.
05:21This is, listen, the Padres, we've been talking about the Padres all week, the past two weeks.
05:25This is a pivotal moment.
05:28And they just got out of a basic loaded jam, dog.
05:31So, please forgive me.
05:32No, but watching, watching today's game earlier, I, he's been a great pitcher.
05:38He's been fan, he's been phenomenal for them.
05:40So, when it comes to postseason, he will absolutely get accolades because championships have followed his success.
05:45But outside, during a regular season, he hasn't made that type of a name for himself.
05:51So, here we go.
