00:00Hello, since they keep rubbing it in and reminding me of it, there must be some truth to the fact that I'm not here.
00:06At the same level as the old guard who preceded me in this position, today I want to respond only briefly
00:12with an anecdotal impact on the number of insults received this week from the side
00:19And on the other hand, most people have that idea that in other times it would have been different, because
00:24A columnist for El Espectador, in a video that circulated on social media, on his personal channel
00:32I suppose, he said, that he felt uncomfortable and that sometimes he felt like quitting his column
00:39He's about 30 years old and works at this newspaper because he was bored of sharing pages on weekends.
00:46with another columnist from El Espectador with very different ideas from yours. I was very
00:53Young man, I don't even know who or why I was at that meeting, but I remember a lot and it impacted me
00:59It was quite something that one day he went to have lunch at the newspaper, a columnist from that time also from
01:04Many years at the newspaper, also right-wing, Don Hernán Echavarría Olózaga. And that lunch.
01:11It ended with Don Hernán informing those predecessors that he was resigning from his column because
01:18He couldn't stand sharing space with Jorge Chaill, another prominent columnist for the newspaper,
01:25He was a leftist, whom right-wingers like Don Hernán considered something less than a
01:32guerrilla fighter. It was a great loss for the newspaper, but there was absolute respect for him.
01:38Chavarría and towards Chay. What followed was trying to find a voice that could maintain positions
01:44divergent viewpoints that would enrich the debate. So no, it's not that this little dolphin

02:05respected
02:06their positions, sometimes even the most radical and those most contrary to the liberal thought of this
02:13newspaper. But perhaps we shouldn't be so liberal about things; it's about falling into such carelessness.
02:20Protruding ones like the ones we had this week, which greatly reveal what we do. The first one was caught
02:28Melba Gómez and it was that the same magola from Wednesday we published again the next day, on Thursday.
02:36And the second one was caught by Enrique Uribe, because the Nieves de Consuelo Lago, on Friday, September 18,
02:43We republished it last Friday, October 2nd. Unacceptable.
02:48And many people scold us for using conditionals in our headlines and in stories in general.
02:55when it comes to court cases that are still in incomplete procedural stages. And I thought
03:03Initially, a hesitation in this regard was due to a very strange title that we put not only in the article,
03:10but also in the social media post. This week an article about the charges against a man who allegedly
03:18received money from an illegal sale of lots. Well, in that initial title, later corrected and in the
03:24In the social media post, we didn't say that he would have received it, but rather that he would have received it, as if we wanted to say that
03:33He's guilty anyway, but since it was just an accusation, we would have given him the
03:39Conditional to maintain the presumption of innocence. And before they concoct who knows what story this is about...
03:47I suppose that's the kind of blow you get. Look, don't go saying it was a sledgehammer or something.
03:53style,
03:54It's just a sign of stubbornness to continue participating in the internal micro-football championship.
04:01with the boys. And even though we won the games, we didn't come away without blows like that.
04:08That's all. See you later. Bye.
