Do Bills fans need to be worried about Josh Allen's knee?
Transcript
00:00The injury to me was, it felt like an internet creation.
00:06It's one of these, I'm a doctor that can analyze video and tell you what's wrong with it.
00:11That said, we've seen the play.
00:13It looked like it hurt.
00:15It looked like he came up from it a little eh.
00:18He's not going to tell you about it.
00:19He's not on the injury report.
00:21Joe Brady says we're not worried about Josh Allen.
00:24Nobody's really drilling down on it.
00:25Like the Boston media is on Drake May's shoulder.
00:28Right. If you're going to hide an injury, you can't also blame that injury for why he's not running the
00:33football.
00:34But if we get another week or two into this and he's got five carries for four yards every week,
00:39I'm going to raise my hand and go, what's going on here?
00:44Maybe it's not to the level where you call it an injury, but it's an owie.
00:48So if Josh had an owie going in and thought, if I mess this up, I might have to leave
00:53the game.
00:53So if he's protecting that, maybe he's completely fine by this next week.
00:58But it's hard for me to say that him being a little banged up isn't a factor in him not
01:04running the football.
01:04He also picked up an owie during the game.
01:06He hit his hand on Milton Williams on the follow-through.
01:10His thumb got bent in a really bad way.
01:12He came up really flexing his hand and was flexing his hand for the rest of the game.
01:16And it was an incomplete pass and Milton Williams got a quarterback hit on the play.
01:21But it was kind of innocuous looking unless you really slowed down the replay and see that Josh's hand got
01:27kind of twisted up in there.
01:28And then I asked him after the game about his hand, and he acknowledged it.
01:33He's like, that was a thumb and just whatever.
01:36And he brushed it off.
01:38But as Josh Allen does, he brushes everything off, which is part of his appeal.
01:44It's a part of his appeal is that he never uses an excuse.
01:48And, um, I, uh, but you could see it hurt him and he was flexing it in the moment and
01:56the expression on his face was, ah, right.
01:58And so, but that doesn't explain the rushing thing.
02:00So what, is there something else going on?
02:03But you can, you pair that with the knee and anything else that he, that are probably all kinds of
02:07things that are hurting him that we don't know about on a hit on his arm, on his shoulder, on
02:12his butt.
02:13I don't know.
02:14And when it comes time to run and your hand hurts and you have ball security issues and your knee
02:21is not, and you see this defender, maybe it's like, ah, but you live to play another down.
02:28He's not, he doesn't bat a thousand in those situations.
02:30We know that for sure.
02:32Right.
02:32He'll do a, uh, he'll do a dumb thing, even though he probably, his brain is telling him, no, no,
02:36no, no, no, no, damn it.
02:38Right.
02:38You know, he's probably one of those, but occasionally he does the right thing.
02:41And I think that might be one of those, uh, I might get crushed here.
02:46I don't want to get crushed.
02:48I am already hurt.
02:49I need to be on this field.
02:50I've had a, I've had fumbling issues today and last week.
02:53Uh, let's, let's be a quarter, let's be an executive here and handle it to the next.
