00:00That was Christian Ellis yesterday on a Patriots Monday with Jones and Keefe.
00:06That answer went viral like a sneeze, Keefe.
00:08Anytime you call somebody on the other team a sore loser, they talk a lot, this and that.
00:16Ultimately, you're probably going to get some good bulletin board material, maybe for the
00:19bills going forward.
00:20Who knows?
00:21But that was good stuff from Christian Ellis yesterday if you missed any of that.
00:23Odyssey app, A-U-D-A-C-Y.
00:25Get it on your phone.
00:26Free.
00:27Easy.
00:27You can take it with you wherever you go.
00:29It's Jones and Keefe live in the Ketches Law Injury Attorney Studios.
00:32No fee unless you win.
00:34I think one of the things and themes that we hit on yesterday, Keefe, is that the Patriots
00:40are back in the race, as Mike Vrabel said it.
00:42They're not dead.
00:42You said Super Bowl back on.
00:44Oh, yeah.
00:45Part of that is because the Patriots look like themselves, and part of it is because the
00:49Bills are still clownish.
00:50Like, the Bills are still the Bills.
00:52The Bills are the Bills, and if you look ahead, so they're 3-1.
00:55Everyone's like, oh, they started the year 3-0.
00:57So, the combined record of the three teams that they have beat, 2-10.
01:02Yeah, I mean, Houston felt like a legit win week one, but they're 0-4.
01:06They're 0-4.
01:07The Chargers are 0-4, and they barely beat them.
01:10Looked like a legit win.
01:11They are garbage.
01:12And then they beat Detroit, and Detroit's 2-2.
01:16So, the next handful of games for the Bills at the Rams on Monday night.
01:22Now, the Rams aren't the world beaters that we thought.
01:24They're also off to a 2-2 start.
01:26But at the Rams on Monday night football.
01:28Then at Vegas, who the Patriots play this weekend.
01:31Then they have a bye.
01:32Then they have Baltimore and Minnesota.
01:35You'd think Lamar's healthy by that.
01:37Yeah, November 4th.
01:37That's week 8 against Lamar.
01:39Maybe Kyler Murray's figured it out by then.
01:40Or maybe the Vikings have figured it out and gone back to Carson Wentz.
01:43And that's also a Monday night football game, and also on the road.
01:47Then they still have Kansas City that they have to play.
01:50They get KC at home.
01:51They do have KC at home.
01:52They're at Denver.
01:54Then they also play the other teams in the NFC North, just like the Patriots do.
01:59At New England, obviously.
02:00And then another, yeah, at New England.
02:01So, you're looking at it, and you can easily make up one more game.
02:05Their strength of victory is 167.
02:08It's trash.
02:08Okay.
02:09And the Raiders is .083, by the way, and they played them this week.
02:11And you looked at the Bills' schedule, and you'd go, oh my gosh, the Lions.
02:15Wow, the Chargers, Houston.
02:17That's a really tough start.
02:18Yeah.
02:19All those teams are way worse than we thought.
02:20They're way, way, way worse.
02:22The Chargers, they lost to the Patriots, and the Patriots looked worse than what we thought.
02:25So, like, I mean, the Bills fattened up on what now appears to be an easy schedule, even
02:30though it looked like a difficult one on paper.
02:31This is part of why last week we were talking about this, and I don't think Josh Allen is
02:35going to win a Super Bowl.
02:37And you kind of have a good caveat, like, well, he could always change teams.
02:40And you're right.
02:40He could change teams, like Stafford.
02:42He might not win one in Buffalo.
02:43I don't think so.
02:44And I think he's doing what he can.
02:46He's doing the best he can.
02:47He hasn't appeared in one yet.
02:48So, he hasn't won an AFC yet, let alone breaking through and beating, like, a Rams, a Seahawks,
02:55an Eagles, somebody like that.
02:56I mean, the 13 seconds in Kansas City.
02:58I mean, that is one that, like, I can't hold that one against him.
03:03No, no.
03:04I'm not even saying it's...
03:04In fact, it's not his fault.
03:06I would argue...
03:07I mean, he has some bad playoff games.
03:08Some of these playoff losses are his fault.
03:10That's the one where I'm like, the guy should have been in the Super Bowl.
03:12But sometimes it's also, like, their defense, I feel like, is taking a step back.
03:17The head coach is still TBD, right?
03:19He's four games into his tenure there.
03:21James Cook, I'll give him, is really good.
03:23The rest of it?
03:24The rest of it's pretty underwhelming, right?
03:27So, I just don't think they've done enough around him, and they're not capitalizing on having the best player.
03:32I think he is the best player in the league.
03:34The last two weeks, he doesn't look like it.
03:36But I think, based on, you know, regular season track record, there's probably nobody else you'd rather have for the
03:41rest of the season.
03:42But what's the rest of the team look like?
03:44Yeah.
03:44We saw it firsthand.
03:45It's not that impressive.
03:46I would say Josh Allen on Sunday certainly did not have his best game.
03:51The Patriots got to him.
03:52He had some boneheaded plays.
03:53I mean, the flip behind his back was the dumbest play I've seen all year.
03:56And I've seen a bunch of dumb Drake May turnovers.
03:58That was outrageous in that they even got away with that.
04:01So, you think that should have been grounding?
04:02No, I guess not.
04:03Got away with it like it wasn't intercepted.
04:05Yeah.
04:06Got away with it like, what in the world?
04:07I don't think it should have been grounding.
04:08There was a dude coming here there.
04:10A lot of people think that.
04:10Well, he's intentionally just chucking the ball to a voice.
04:13He's throwing it towards somebody.
04:14Yeah, but like.
04:15There was nobody around.
04:15There was a dude kind of running shallow there.
04:18There were three Patriots over there.
04:19I'm with you.
04:19Well, there's also one bill.
04:20Because like, you can't allow like Patrick Mahomes to throw no look passes and be like, well.
04:25And now it's up to the ref to decide intent on what he's trying to.
04:29You don't know what he's trying to do.
04:30There's a guy.
04:30Like a Harlem Globetrotter.
04:31There's a guy in the area.
04:32Like, I think it was a brainless, stupid play.
04:34Oh, it just.
04:35And it should have been a turnover.
04:36But I don't think it should have been grounding.
04:38I'm with you on that.
04:39No, that was just a weird one.
04:40And you just don't ever see both of behind the back underhand flip type like a thing.
04:45And then the pick to steal the game was stupid.
04:48Yeah, he spun it.
04:49So that's Josh Allen in a nutshell.
04:50Like spins out of a would be sack.
04:52And you're like, oh, my God, what your heart drops for a second because he rears back and
04:57hucks it 50 yards downfield or whatever.
04:59And you're like, oh, my God, he's going to spin out of a sack and turn around and win
05:02this game on this play.
05:03And he throws it right to woods.
05:05So, you know, when we say the bills are still the bills, Josh Allen and his backbreaking
05:09turnovers.
05:10And if you want to use this as an example, well, a why he'll never win a Super Bowl and
05:15be when I say I want out of my mouth, I can live with some Drake May turnovers if he's
05:20going to make plays, but then out the other end of my mouth, I say it's Josh Allen with
05:24the backbreaking turnovers.
05:25Maybe there's some inconsistency there.
05:27Drake can't turn it over in big spots.
05:29Allen can't turn it over in big spots if he wants.
05:31But in general, my philosophy would be I can live with some turnovers, though.
05:34That was an especially costly one.
05:36He's also going to have to win more.
05:38He's going to have to win more shootouts than Drake May is going to have to because I think
05:41the Patriots defense is better.
05:43And they were even undermanned this last week, and they still did a pretty good job, whereas
05:47the Bills defense gave up 31 to Stroud, 31 to Goff, and then they did hold the Chargers
05:52to 16, but the Chargers can't get out of their own way right now.
05:55The Pats have the worst offensive football coming into this game, and they let them score
05:5829, which I know CJ Gardner-Johnson doesn't think is a big deal.
06:0320-something points?
06:03They barely scored.
06:04They struggled all game.
06:05Barely scored?
06:06It's incredible.
06:08You'd be the 30th best defense with those numbers.
06:10They barely scored.
06:12They barely scored.
06:12I think they scored a touchdown in every quarter.
06:15They had almost anything under 30.
06:17He's like, we did our job.
06:18They had a 97-yard drive.
06:20They had two 73-yard drives.
06:21They had two for two, fourth down.
06:23They scored a two-point conversion, but yeah, they didn't do anything.
06:26Text line, you guys are so stupid.
06:27Okay, well, that's fair.
06:28The Bills were running the ball down the Patriots' throat.
06:31Bad play calling, and they just kept relying on Josh to get them out of it.
06:35I do not think the Bills...
06:36I actually fully reject this.
06:38I was surprised.
06:38When we asked Christian Ellis yesterday, I hadn't really looked at the numbers.
06:41I thought they did a way better job on Cook than they did.
06:44They Cook had good numbers.
06:45Well, he...
06:45Good yards per carry.
06:46Three carries at the end of the game.
06:48He started to pile it up as the game went along.
06:49In the first half, they really limited Cook, and I think that that did take the Bills out
06:54of their rhythm with handing it to him, and they got away from it, and maybe they lost
06:57track of him, but early on in the game, I thought the Bills...
07:00The Pats, rather, did a really good job stopping James Cook in the Bills' run game.
07:03Yeah.
07:04Because that could have been worse, especially with Barmore down.
07:08You just wonder, like, how is that going to play out?
07:10And, yeah, that's another part of it, where the first three weeks, we weren't sure if
07:15the head coach every week was going to be the advantage, like Vrabel versus whoever it
07:19might be, and versus Joe Brady, who's only been doing it for a couple of weeks.
07:22You were hoping that that would be an advantage, but just like with Drake May's play, I was
07:26a little shooketh about Mike Vrabel and some of the end-of-half situations and everything
07:30else, but it does feel like, you know, however many weeks it is away when they face each other
07:35again, that that should be, once again, checkmark in favor of the Patriots.
07:396-1-7-7-7-9-7-9-3-7.
07:41Drake May was on with Rich and Ken with Ted Johnson yesterday.
07:44He also, like everybody else, reacted to C.J.
07:48Gardner-Johnson and his comments.
07:49He took a little more high road than our guy Christian Ellis.
07:52I guess, Drake, C.J.
07:53Gardner-Johnson of the Bills, still not sold on Efton Chisholm.
07:55I'm sure you saw his quotes after the game, called him a practice squad player and won't
07:59hear from him again.
08:00Did you have any reaction to that?
08:02No, I have to say too much about that.
08:03I think, you know, obviously we got the last laugh yesterday and we'll see them again
08:07down the road.
08:07So we'll see where it goes then.
08:10Yep.
08:11Book it week 13 at New England.
08:14That's Sunday, December 6th.
08:16They 425 game.
08:17That's when they'll see him again.
08:18He did say we got the last laugh.
08:20He did.
08:20I don't know that that's like a headline in Buffalo or anything like that, but okay.
08:25It's certainly a game that will be circled.
08:27We'll be reliving these comments.
08:28I'm sure going into that week in December.
