A stabbing in Albury last month on the New South Wales-Victoria border will be investigated by homicide detectives, after a 28-year-old man died in hospital on Sunday.

00:01It's alleged a 28-year-old man was stabbed outside his home here on Calamow Street in North
00:07Albury in the early hours of September 27th. The victim had been taken to hospital at the time in
00:14a critical condition but had died nearly a week later at Albury Base Hospital. Police are now
00:19treating this as a homicide and have brought in the State Crime Command. Commander Paul Smith
00:25says police have spoken to several people but there are more that they'd want to speak to.
00:30There's plenty of people out there who would know what occurred. We need you to assist us in bringing
00:41this matter to finality. Certainly the family are seeking closure and we call out to you.
00:51Police are preparing a report for the coroner and are asking anyone with any information
00:55to come forward.
