01:54thing that's bothering me is honestly the schedule because you almost become a victim of your own

04:00give you um the one bit of confidence to just now earn the split it'll be fine but i think

04:07part is that everything you had worked for down the stretch of the season the final the final three
04:12weeks especially it's all been wiped out already yeah like the whole thing talking every day about
04:18the difference between winning the division and just getting the wild card kind of evaporated like
04:23over overnight yeah because the pitching having the pitching all lined up now well now you got to
04:29win you know four or five you'd have to excuse me three or four here you have to win three

04:35and it turned out not to be much of an advantage at all to have everything lined up and now

04:42sox have home field advantage so it's like all those things that you try to chisel away at seem
04:47poof gone and in the matter of you know one game one nine inning game two ones they're doing the
04:53opener again they're gonna they're going to sean burkin like the third inning yeah and i'm fine with
04:58i'm fine with all this like that's it makes me feel a little bit better i was a little surprised

05:36did well we run in different circles clearly we do my buddies were livid they were yesterday even
05:41they were they were yeah they were excited about that game um they went to that game that was that
05:48was the start of the full weekend and they just sat there while the bats were listless and you know
05:53you only you only had so few base runners to begin with you had 12 strikeouts they didn't the the
05:58approach at the plate to begin with they didn't like the fry was in there to start out i mean

06:02had a litany of things so i'm surprised that uh the the people that you were running around with
06:08uh were not annoyed because i mean honestly that was as bad as a way to start a playoff run
06:15as i think they've ever had no i'm going out there and getting hammered i i just i don't think

06:30i got gavin williams going today and i just don't want to feel like i'm trying to talk myself into
06:35something i'm not like instead of actually being confident just trying to talk myself into being
06:40confident it's hard to explain feelings but that's kind of where i'm at right now so yeah like
06:45you hear steven vote say some things and i just think that maybe some people are like okay you're
06:50gonna have to go ahead and show me like he was asked yesterday about having parker messick in game
06:54one then gavin williams going today here's what steven vote had to say they've been our two best
06:58pitchers obviously like we talked about with parker he was going to be on regular rest which he's
07:02pitched really well on and gavin's had experience with a little bit of extra rest and like i said
07:07he touched the mound just made sense for him to get a mound touch and a game simulated a simulated

07:12in between so kind of just that's the way we felt like we wanted to line it up i feels

07:17confident as i have today since probably late 90s indians for the simple because i really yes and the
07:30reason is i'm kind of amazed by this i know and and the reason is obviously because of gavin
07:34williams plus i you know again you lose this game today it's 2-0 and i think that's basically it
07:38because you've lost that then you're in your head you lost two two of the collection games there so
07:42you don't feel there's a chance for this very young lineup to feel the pressure of a game like today
07:47i would no because of guys like chase de lauder other guys who i i think they play like veterans

08:21about the guardians in the postseason since the 90s indians i was a kid during the 90s indians
08:26so it was like all right you're hitting a million doubles you're scoring a thousand runs in 1996
08:31literally uh there's so many ways that you would tell yourself we're going to be fine we're just
08:37going to be fine even though it was never technically fine you didn't win the world series
08:40you're going to be fine i still feel like i'm fine in this series i'm still way more concerned
08:45after gavin williams in game three i think we'll be tied headed into chicago and then i'm a little
08:50bit more concerned about all right what do we do after this because then you get the hopefully you get
08:55some of the advantage back it's like all right i split the home series then i go on the road
08:59hopefully i'll get some of the pitching advantage back and then we could take off but obviously
09:02yeah it's a big day today because you're playing i think in so many ways you're playing for your

09:43a concern yeah obviously i'm just surprised to hear how confident you are well because what's the
09:48point of me freaking out on the radio with everybody when we got gavin williams pitching
09:52today at five o'clock well it's because it's not it's not necessarily about gavin it's about what
09:55is the lineup going to do today i understand that but you're going up against another young team that
10:00lost three had three 100 lost seasons like yeah they're coming along too yeah the thing that okay
10:05the thing that sucks is they we wondered about the rest versus rust thing and who knows how much
10:11how much of that had to do anything with the hitting because i've seen our bats go cold
10:14with rust when we play every day i understand it's not like they were a juggernaut they were
10:18better after the trade deadline for sure uh i don't know necessarily the splits against good pitching
10:23bad pitching whatever the the situation was they were going up against an opener who they had seen
10:28before and for whatever reason they couldn't really get anything going the hard part is now the white
10:33socks feel as confident as they've probably that is that is true along they're playing that's the one
10:38bad thing about it when you're sitting there as a division winner and you're going up against a team
10:42that that is a wild card and they've had to earn their way by already winning another division
10:48and they've had another uh the playoff series and they've got to have a celebration you know all
10:53the while we're sitting there and you heard vote just talking about guys getting mound touches
10:57like that's and simulating games well there's no simulation for the real thing and the white socks
11:03are probably as confident as anybody right now because they've already eliminated one team and now
