Right-wing Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro will face leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a runoff of the presidential election later this month, after he exceeded expectations in the first-round vote on Oct 4 with a slight lead over the incumbent.

The election, which centered around the cost of living, corruption and insecurity in Brazilians' daily lives, follows a string of wins across Latin America by right-wing parties aligned with US President Donald Trump.

00:16Good morning, good morning!
00:20At night, party is a very small town to be here.
00:26Your actual team will be here now!
00:31Hey, Virginia!
00:34It's going to win!
00:35I'm with much hope,
00:37because Brazil will win!
00:39For Brazil!
00:55I'm really happy,
00:57I'm really happy,
00:59with the result that we have here.
01:01Almost 56 million
01:03of Brazilians and Brazilians
01:05gave this confidence
01:07to change.
01:09The word is change.
01:10Brazil can't wait anymore.
01:12I'm very satisfied,
01:13because many research institutes
01:16gave us a chance,
01:18our trackings gave us a chance,
01:21as it happened,
01:22with a real chance
01:24that we had a victory
01:26in the first round.
01:28It was very little.
01:30But I was very happy
01:31with the number of Brazilians
01:33who were to go to the streets.
01:34I have to say
01:37that the Lula is
01:38disputing the power.
01:39He already disputed
01:41seven presidential elections.
01:44Seven presidential elections.
01:46He's worried about the power.
01:48I'm worried about the future of Brazil.
01:50I'm worried about the Brazil.
01:51He's going to close the half
01:52to get rid of them.
02:02Well, I hope that the country
02:08changes a lot,
02:10because it has been stolen
02:11in relation to everything.
02:13So, I think that's the time
02:15to change and change
02:17to new people.
02:19Let's see if it's going to happen.
02:21Let's see if it's going to happen.
02:22Let's see if it's going to happen.
02:25The people have to choose
02:26if they want to continue as they are,
02:29which to me particularly is bad,
02:31or if they want to change.
02:34Now,
02:35the people are going to decide.
02:36I will have Flávia 22,
02:39because I believe
02:40that it can be a lot better
02:42for our country,
02:44in all instances.
02:47Lula! Lula!
02:50Lula!
02:53Lula! Lula!
02:55Lula! Lula!
02:58many times, is desperate.
03:01We never can change
03:03the world of Biblia.
03:03I would say
03:04I would say
03:05I was convinced
03:07of the war
03:08in the first turn.
03:10But we have the second turn
03:12and the second turn
03:13is the time
03:14of the nine-tour.
03:16It's the time
03:17of the nine-tour.
03:18of the real
03:21photography
03:21of Brazil
03:23of today
03:24and of Brazil
03:25that we want.
03:26So, from the morning,
03:28we start
03:29a new campaign.
03:41It's a great
03:42experience.
03:44I didn't expect it.
03:46I had a great hope for the decision
03:50in the first turn
03:50in favor of Lula,
03:51so it's very difficult to see
03:53see us
03:54going to this second turn
03:55in the past.
03:56It's a great
03:58who is
03:58going to the United States
03:59who has bad plans
04:01for Brazil
04:01in our view.
04:02So, it's a great
04:04desperation.
04:06It's a great
04:07disappointment.
04:07to see us
04:08a North
04:09who is completely
04:10fragilized,
04:11vulnerable,
04:12voting for a candidate
04:14who is completely
04:16against the interests
04:19of the North's population.
04:22So, it's sad.
04:23It's sad.
04:37It's sad.
04:38It's a great
