00:25Hello everybody and welcome back to day two here,
00:28the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations at Ernais, northwestern France.
00:32Next up, probably one of the most important races of the weekend, the B-Final.
00:38Yesterday in the qualifying races, after the top two scores from the three results from the individual races,
00:45the top 19 teams went through to the main event, they've had their warm-ups.
00:50The B-Final riders have had their warm-up as well, but only one team will go through to the
00:55main event
00:55and there are a lot of teams in this, starting with Finland, Slovakia, Norway, Czech Republic, Japan,
01:02Ireland, Lithuania, FIM, Latin America, Morocco, Mexico, Croatia, Iceland and Ukraine.
01:11My name's Paul Malin, we're live on MXGPTV.com as we embark on our Sunday programme here in Ernais.
01:18And as you can see from miles around, look at the campsites, every which way you look, we have an
01:24abundance of spectators.
01:26But they've got the fans in, in full voice once again.
01:29V riders are out on track for their warm-up just ahead of their race, of course, their all-important
01:36race.
01:36VIP there on the top section of that circuit and the opposite valley and down the middle through that big
01:41sweeping curve.
01:43And there is a wall of noise.
01:45Just a moment ago, the French fans were on their feet for group one practice, which was the teams that
01:50were qualified first, third,
01:52the odd numbers basically, and then the group two was the even numbers.
01:57Team France went out on track a moment ago, first, second and third in the form of Roman Fevre, Tom
02:02Vial and Matisse Ballin.
02:05The crowd for the first couple of laps was just off the scale.
02:09The B-Final riders had their warm-up just prior to that.
02:12So they've had their morning warm-up, their 15 minutes of practice.
02:15They've been back. They've washed the bikes off.
02:17They're coming back now for a 20-minute plus two-lap race.
02:21And then about an hour after this race is finished, two of those riders are going to be back on
02:24the grid ahead of race one.
02:27So it's not the place to be, the B-Final.
02:28Lisa Leyland was down on the grid a couple of months ago.
02:30She caught up with Team Ireland's Glenn McCormick and Emil Weckmann.
02:34Emil Weckmann was the second rider that she spoke to.
02:38So I'm just on the start line of the B-Final.
02:40Now, this is the final opportunity for these riders and these nations to qualify for the main event.
02:46So no pressure at all.
02:47I'm joined by Team Ireland's Glenn McCormick.
02:50Glenn, in yesterday's qualifying races, it was just crashes, bike issues.
02:55It was just generally an unlucky day for Team Ireland, wasn't it?
02:58Pretty much.
02:58We've had the luck of P2 to obviously gate pick and then the unlucky side of, you know, issues, bike
03:05issues, crashes.
03:06So, yeah, just an unfortunate day.
03:09I think we all showed good pace.
03:10So, yeah, we'll get stuck in here this morning.
03:13Notorious Ireland B-Final.
03:15So we'll be all in, yeah.
03:17I mean, I make this joke every year and it's a really bad joke, but it isn't a B-Final
03:21without Team Ireland.
03:22No, not really.
03:23It doesn't seem to be, no.
03:24As long as I can remember it's been in B-Final and obviously Martin's always been sort of keen of
03:28the B-Final, if you want to say.
03:30So, yeah, hopefully it's all our turn now to hopefully do the job and get us through.
03:35But look, Glenn, on a positive, you know, this is your second time here at Ernais.
03:39So you get to experience the crowd and just look at that already.
03:41It's early in the morning and it's just the whole atmosphere of Ernais that you just have to sort of
03:45lap up and enjoy.
03:47Yeah, definitely.
03:47I mean, here I think it's the best one to come to.
03:50Just the atmosphere, as you say, it's just brilliant.
03:53You don't get much better in this and you can hear the crowd the whole way around the track.
03:56So it's awesome, yeah.
03:57Best of luck to you.
03:58Best of luck to Team Ireland.
03:59Thank you, Glenn.
04:00Let's grab a few words with Team Finland's Emil Wittmann, who's totally embracing the whole French culture here, which is
04:07a good thing.
04:08Yeah, for sure.
04:09You know, we have a big sponsor from Finland who is national worldwide.
04:13They have a big company also in France.
04:15So they invite 15 people to come watch the Motocross of Nations.
04:20And yeah, look, the crowd.
04:21It's amazing.
04:22Like every year here, I was also in 23 here doing the nation.
04:26Then we qualified directly.
04:28So yeah, I think the plan is sure for us.
04:31We did this one time in 21 in Italy.
04:34We win the B final and then we are in for the A final.
04:37That's the plan.
04:38Yeah, I mean, you qualified to P20 yesterday.
04:42What would going through to the main event today mean to you and also to the whole team?
04:46Yeah, for sure.
04:47It's always the goal for, I think, every team to ride in the A final.
04:51We come here every year.
04:52We are prepared.
04:53And yeah, for sure, it would mean a big thing.
04:56The sponsors are here and it's a one time event in the year.
05:00So it would mean big, big, big time.
05:03Emil, enjoy this.
05:04Enjoy this race.
05:05Okay.
05:06Good luck to all these guys.
05:08It's the final chance for them.
05:09It's time for the B final.
05:13And as always, the riders disappear out on track then for their sighting lap ahead
05:17of that all important B final race here in Erne.
05:24So before we bring up the teams that are going to be lining up, then I'm just going
05:27to bring them up in numerical order here.
05:29Japan are going to be represented by Kai Oshiro, Haruki Yokoyama, and Yuki Okora.
05:35Norway with Leander Tunchell, Pele Gundersen, and Sander Agard Mikkelsen.
05:40Finland with Emma Weckmann, Saku Mansikamaki, and Yeri Havisto.
05:44Ireland will have Lennox Dickinson, Glenn McCormick, and Jason Meera.
05:49FIM Latin America will have Joachim Pauli, Carlos Badiali, Fabrizio Chacon.
05:55Morocco will have Maxime Simon, Saad Solomani, Noam Jael.
06:00These are the order in which they just missed out on the last chance, if you like, on the
06:05main event.
06:05So, Morocco with Maxime Simon, Saad Solomani, Noam Jael.
06:10Mexico with Borge Israel, Ruba Calva, Fernando Velazquez, and Eric Isma, Vasquez Dial.
06:19Iceland with Ingvar Einerson, Eric Gudmundson, and Tristan Arason, and the rest of the riders
06:28as you saw there on screen.
06:30The 1.21 going to the line there, and that is Thomas Kohut of Slovakia.
06:35The first teams that didn't qualify, so in that unfortunate place of being in 19th, 19th,
06:43the Austrians went through.
06:44Finland were the first team not to qualify.
06:46They only missed it by two points, and Yeri Havisto there, Emma Weckmann, and Saku Mansikamaki,
06:52their MX2 rider, it was his result that was scratched, that left them on 35 points.
07:07They were just a couple of points off as well, then the 1.25 of Lithuania, of Marius Adamaitis.
07:19Some nervous moments for the riders down there ahead of this B-final race, and it is that
07:24typical situation, you get a good start and try and control the race from the front as
07:27always.
07:28The 31 there of Kai Oshiro of Japan.
07:35Japan with 24, again just a few points off, doesn't matter if you're one point off or
07:39101 points off, you're still in the main at the B-final.
07:42The 85 there, that's Lennox Dickinson.
07:52Team Ireland just missing out.
07:56By a few points on the 118, and there was a few bike issues there and a few crashes.
07:59Matija Kalaiva there of Team Croatia.
08:02He's the MXGP rider, and his teammates Simon Ivendic and Matij Eros in the Open class.
08:1186, the second of the Irish riders there.
08:13Glenn McCormick, we just spoke to him a moment ago, hoping to get through the B-final.
08:22All three riders on track in this one race, their best two scores count to get them through.
08:29So if you go one, two, that is the lowest point score you can get of three.
08:34You will be going through to the main event.
08:37But of course, it's never as straightforward as that.
08:39This is the B-final.
08:40It's the Nations.
08:41It never is that straightforward.
08:50Just waiting for the last few riders to make their way.
08:5612 teams will be lining up here.
09:00So 36 riders behind the gate for this 20 minute plus two lap race.
09:07It used to be 30 minutes plus two laps before.
09:09It's bad enough having to go to the B-final.
09:10Let alone having to do another 30 minute plus two lap race.
09:14As the races are later on this afternoon.
09:20And this race will be pretty much done with in around about sort of 25 minutes from now.
09:28The gate drop is 1.10 for the first main race.
09:33So it doesn't give them too much time at all.
09:35Around about an hour.
09:35But they've got to get the bikes washed off.
09:37Get them prepped.
09:38Get them through Park Fermi.
09:40Fly racing.
09:4115-second border.
09:42For the B-final here.
09:45Ninone.
09:53Five-second border turns.
09:55Heads down.
09:56Rebs up.
09:59Heartbeat pumping through the chest of the riders as the gates drop here.
10:05Will there be any carnage through the first turn?
10:08Everybody looks well.
10:09Just one rider tipping over to the outside.
10:11That was the 52 of Norway.
10:13Leander.
10:14Leander Tunchal.
10:17But it's the 31 who leads away.
10:19Kai Oshiro of Japan.
10:2159.
10:22He's next.
10:23First 69.
10:23I think of the area of East of Finland.
10:25Yes, it is.
10:29And Kovar of Czech Republic there on the 1.17.
10:32He's third.
10:33Ratusky is next.
10:34His team mate.
10:34So at the moment, Czech are in the driving seat.
10:37With two riders inside the top four positions.
10:46Sweeping uphill.
10:49Team Ireland.
10:50Dickinson down in 11th place.
10:54McCormack in 18th place.
10:56So they've got a lot of work to do if they're to advance from here.
11:03But it's Ashiro of Japan who continues to lead.
11:07Yere Havisto trying to get through as his team mate, Emma Weckman, said they would try to.
11:13Ashiro a little bit hesitant at the top of the hill.
11:15And does he still manage to hold onto the lead?
11:19Yes, he does.
11:19But he can't get the distance over the jump.
11:21And Havisto goes on by.
11:23Takes over the lead.
11:30Looks like Kovar has just been passed there by the 1.15 of Ratusky.
11:37So Ratusky of Czech Republic.
11:44Those two, third and fourth at the moment.
11:50Get a better picture as we drop downhill here.
11:53Oh, I tell you what, that was pretty close.
11:56Two riders into that bottom corner just about survived.
12:00Havisto there leading the way.
12:02But it was Ashiro and Repchak.
12:04Repchak.
12:06Almost coming together with the Japanese rider as they hit the downhill jump.
12:13Yoko Yama, the second of the Japanese riders, he finds himself in fifth position.
12:19And it's Japan that are going through at the moment.
12:21They are on eight points with a second and a sixth.
12:24Czech Republic with a fifth and a fourth at the moment.
12:29Slovakia.
12:30They're in third with Repchak.
12:33Kovar fourth.
12:34So this is going to be very, very tight again.
12:40Kovar going around the outside on the 1.17.
12:43For the Czech Republic going after the Slovakian rider.
12:47Repchak.
12:54Sun still very, very low as they emerge through that long left.
12:59Not so bad when you cut across the valley like this.
13:01But when you go, turn right and then uphill through the long right-hander.
13:07Just past the Dunlop signs.
13:09Starts to get a little bit blinding there as well.
13:12But Yeri Avisto leading the way for Finland.
13:14Finland though, at the moment, they're not qualified.
13:16They have 21 points because they've got...
13:24Avisto in first.
13:25And then the second rider is in 20th position.
13:27And that's Sakuman Sikamaki.
13:30Weckman in 25th place.
13:42Ryder down through those deep ruts.
13:45Goes down hard as well.
13:4889 of Carlos Padihali from FIM Latin America.
13:59See how tricky those downhill ruts are at the moment.
14:02Repchak into second.
14:04Oshiro has been pushed down into third place.
14:05This is going to be challenging then for Japan.
14:07Czech Republic are tied.
14:09They have a 5-4 compared to a 3-6.
14:12So the fact that they've got a third, which is higher than their fourth place at the Czech Republic of...
14:194-5, 3-6.
14:20Yes, so their second score is lower for Japan.
14:25Which is why they are out at the moment.
14:28There's a 4-5 beats a 3-6 in a tie-break.
14:31Czech Republic are going through as it stands right now, but we've still got 15 and a half minutes plus
14:35two laps to go here.
14:39Avisto continues to lead, but the 1.23 of Repchak.
14:44Pavel Repchak of Slovakia.
14:48Now only 1.8 seconds behind.
14:51He was a couple of tenths quicker with the fastest lap that time around.
14:55And here is Repchak going after Havisto.
15:03Finland are up to 4, but they're 10 points off of qualifying at the moment.
15:11Because Havisto here doing a great job for them up front leading the way.
15:16But Mansa Kamaki and Weckmann now 18 and 19.
15:19So Weckmann will probably find his way past his MX2 teammate and try to charge his way through the field.
15:24Got some work to do though still.
15:27Because Finland's still on 19.
15:28Czech Republic and Japan tied on 9.
15:33The two leaders coming downhill.
15:35Havisto of Finland, Repchak of Slovakia.
15:38That's how it looks now on screen.
15:41Briefly.
15:43Two leaders heading up the middle there.
15:45See the shadows.
15:47Casting the shadows there.
15:49Just on the bumps exactly where they are.
15:51They're only going to get deeper and more rougher as the day goes on.
15:55Repchak quickest again by 8 tenths this time around.
16:01He's being urged on.
16:02They are only two points off of qualification at the moment.
16:06Slovakia with Thomas Kohut and Jaroslav Katrinak.
16:10Where are they in all of this?
16:16Kohut in eighth place at the moment.
16:20And he's 1.1 behind Yokoyama.
16:25To do with another point or two here.
16:28While Slovakia now on 10.
16:30Japan on 10.
16:32So Slovakia now only one point behind.
16:35But they've got an 8-2.
16:40Another rider down there.
16:42In the fence.
16:53So the 69 then.
16:54The three teams.
16:56Of Javisto.
16:58Leading the way.
16:59Sorry.
17:00Yeah.
17:00Still leading the way.
17:02And Repchak.
17:04Despite setting a vessel at that time around.
17:05Just starting to lose pace in the last intermediate sector.
17:12Benavisto doing a great job.
17:13Trying to at least give his team that opportunity.
17:20Wekman has found his way past his teammate.
17:22Moves into the 17th position.
17:24And he's right in the thick of it as well.
17:26But maybe too little too late.
17:27In the next 12 and a half minutes plus two laps.
17:29Lap times of course.
17:30Close to two minutes.
17:32So you've got the best part.
17:3416 and a half minutes here.
17:35Still to run.
17:41Looks like he's being able to steady the ship at the moment.
17:44Jari Havisto.
17:45Of Finland.
17:47That's downhill for the third time.
17:49Three laps complete now.
17:50For the number 69.
17:53A 158.588.
17:55He's now 2.6 seconds clear.
17:57Because Repchak.
17:59His pace.
18:00Starting to falter.
18:02That was a two minute lap time for him.
18:05Shiro still there in third.
18:06Great for Japan.
18:07Kaya Shiro on the number 31.
18:09He's four and a half seconds behind.
18:11Japan in a non-qualifying place at the moment.
18:13They are in third.
18:14But they're tied with Slovakia.
18:15They're not out of it yet.
18:16There's only a point in it.
18:19You only have a right or lose a position or two.
18:23Because of fatigue or a mistake or whatever.
18:26And all of a sudden.
18:27Teams that are chasing there.
18:29Slovakia in Japan at the moment.
18:31They're right back in it.
18:32Yeah.
18:33But there are several lengths that complete stuff.
18:39That's Kovar just going through on the 117.
18:42Then Ratuski.
18:44Then behind them Gunderson and Yokoyama there at Kawasaki.
18:47he's in seventh place and Thomas Kohut there on the 121 the other Slovak in amongst all of this
18:53that can change things obviously he's trying to find his way past the rider ahead of him
18:58Yokoyama Repchak trying to find his way past Tavista if they do that then it's Slovakia
19:03at the moment that are going to be going through
19:10anxious moments in this B final as always there is a 32 of Haruki Yokoyama
19:17on the green Karasakhi there
19:231.21 of Thomas Kohut just behind not able to get close enough to this rider here at the moment
19:30to make what would be a decisive pass to get them tied with Czech Republic
19:44just trying to inch his way around this racetrack here
19:47the 32 of Haruki Yokoyama
19:55Thomas Kohut gaining ground though
20:02it's got to show how this circuit is just starting to get beat up now doesn't it
20:06from that angle heading up the hill
20:08see the rut setting downhill as well here's his teammate Kai Oshiro
20:18he's having a great ride actually it might be just under five seconds behind Repchak but he's got
20:45he's got to show how deep those ruts are but when you see half a wheel missing going through those
20:55deep ruts gives you some idea as to how deep they are for these riders to negotiate especially in those
21:01turns
21:06Yokoyama
21:07Yokoyama under pressure here from Kohut
21:11Kohut
21:11Kohut in white blue
21:13for Slovakia
21:17if he can find his way past the Japanese rider ahead of him they will tie with Czech Republic
21:25who are fourth and fifth in the race at the moment
21:36one of those bikes starting to steam from the left-hand side
21:48right
21:48rider down and it's the Japanese rider Yokoyama
21:52is that going to decide the outcome here
21:56just looking at the screen there to the outside
22:02Yokoyama go down was he helped
22:09he's got to go down to the left-hand side
22:09by Kohut
22:13try and get a replay of that if we can but it's Havisto continues to lead Repchak seconder Shira third
22:18Kovar fourth from Tusky goodness of Kohut now up in the seventh place
22:25Yokoyama picking himself back up in ten
22:37and even though
22:42Thomas Kohut has moved up into that seventh position
22:45Czech Republic is still there with a 5-4 as it stands right now
22:50they are on nine Slovakia on nine but they've got a seventh and a second
22:56here's Wailuk number 99 back marker straight on took him out
23:01and that was uh Enrique Ismael Vasquez Diaz
23:05and Japan were on the cusp as well they were only one point behind
23:12Slovakia and Czech Republic at that point
23:20back market did his best to try and get out of the way but caused
23:22more troubles for Japan and as the 115 comes through there Peter Ratusky
23:31in that fifth place he's got Petr Gundersen behind him
23:34the Norwegian on the MX2 machine so you've got 450 versus 250
23:44Tusky fourth Czech Republic he can't afford to lose the position here to Gundersen
23:52go to another 53
23:56the long downhill
24:00into that 180 left
24:04Gundersen needed every ounce of power which is why he went wide to the outside just to try and get
24:09a
24:09bit of slingshot to give himself any kind of chance to stay with the 115 the 450 of Ratusky
24:23oh back marker again just trying to stay out of the way
24:30quick look at the scoreboard here
24:33Czech and the Slovaks still on nine apiece
24:36fifth and fourth for Czech Republic seventh and second for Slovakia
24:39Japan on 13 with a third and a tenth their MXGP and MX2 rider
24:45Finland on 16 with a 15th and a fur so Mansi Kamaki is now up into that 15th
24:52Wekman has been there he's now down into 19th 20th place he's gone out maybe
24:58still waiting for him to hit the line so all of a sudden the efforts now on Mansi Kamaki for
25:03Team Finland
25:04in that 15th place because Wekman has dropped out of the top 20 and can't see him getting back ahead
25:09of his teammate from there so that's going to be disastrous for them
25:19this battle's still going on here
25:25the 115 of Ratusky
25:31and Kohut has found his way past Capella Gundersen
25:36Wekman out
25:40disappointment then for the Finn on the number 67 machine
25:43look at 121 Thomas Kohut here he's absolutely on a flyer
25:48Kohut for Slovakia
25:55oh we're going to see things change this time around at the top of the leaderboard
26:07maybe not quite
26:10maybe we will actually because Kohut is now going to be up to sixth place isn't he
26:15Slovakia may be edging this by a point when we hit the line now
26:20and they do go to the top at 6-2 for Slovakia Czech Republic nine with five four one point
26:29behind
26:31a crucial pass from Thomas Kohut on Pelikundersen oh I tell you what Ratusky
26:41somehow manages to stay on two wheels for Czech Republic
26:55watch this here just catches the bank with his left foot peg bone feet off the side of the motorcycle
27:01there
27:03and Kohut just not close enough to pick up another position but he is now
27:07he can put a bit more daylight between himself and the Czech Republic riders as he nudges up the inside
27:12of the rival from Czech Republic there Ratusky Kohut now up in the fifth place
27:31good hard riding this from the 121 Thomas Kohut
27:38they're now going to be up into fifth place with that pass a moment ago on the rider in red
27:44just here Ratusky
27:48Gundersen just behind for Norway
27:50no one's catching Eriavisto
27:53Finland really with Mansi Kamaki now down there in 15th place he's got about
27:58four seconds to make up nearly five seconds to make up on McCormick
28:04an island on 22 eight is the lead score at the moment
28:10this was the 1 23 just a moment ago and that of course the teammate to Thomas Kohut Pavel Repchak
28:20falling from second to third
28:27puts the pressure on again
28:40so Japan at the moment gaining another point
28:46Japan's still not out of it yet although
28:49as it stands right now four points might be three when they hit the line at the end of this
28:52next lap
28:53there is Pavel Repchak there
28:57he launches downhill
28:59Repchak
29:02the lead
29:05Slovak rider in third position
29:08Kahut
29:10is fifth which is why a three and eight uh three and a five bringing up those eight points
29:15the lowest tally
29:16the lowest tally
29:25but there's still
29:28time in this race for things just to sort of slow down
29:32and change
29:34when the scoring is so very very tight
29:39Javisto is in the final sector he is 19 seconds away
29:44from the line where is he in relation to that finish line
29:49the race leader just keeping an eye we've got 10 seconds left is he making his way towards the line
29:53any moment now
29:57three oh he just goes through three laps to go
30:01there was about three seconds on the clock
30:04as Javisto went through
30:07so whilst that gives his Finnish teammate a little bit more time there in 15th position
30:12to try and advance further
30:15it's definitely applied the pressure now to the the Slovaks
30:19so the Czechs and the Japanese who are the three leading nations in this all fighting for that b-final
30:25transfer
30:36Shiro on his own in second here is the 1.23 of Pavel Repchak
30:42is his third place
30:44and his teammate Thomas Kahoot's fifth place at the moment that is getting them through to the main event
30:51we've seen how easy it is to make a mistake Repchak falling in a simple turn
30:56losing second place to the Japanese rider Kai Oshiro
31:10looks like he's been able to recover well
31:15Kovar of Czech Republic is in fourth place
31:18his teammate is in sixth Ratusky
31:27so Peter Ratusky
31:29Václav Kovar
31:32those two riders
31:34still hoping for a a glimmer of hope
31:38oh I tell you what a bit loose air from uh from uh Repchak
31:45two lap board getting ready
31:48there's the 99 of uh Eric Ismael Lafka Diaz
31:55from Mexico
32:01as we watch the 1.23 in third Pavel Repchak
32:06he is the lead rider from the Slovakian team at the moment two lap board has gone out
32:15as Shiro just at the bottom of the hill around the corner about two and a half seconds here he
32:18is
32:18number 31 that's second and here is third Repchak going for one more position in the final two laps
32:30it'll be interesting to see how crucial the final lap will be
32:34oh I tell you what
32:37as Shiro goes down right where he didn't want to
32:45and that gives another point back to Repchak
32:48another point then for the Slovaks that's going to give them a three-point buffer now
32:56said a moment ago easy to make a mistake on a tricky circuit like this there are a lot of
33:02ruts
33:03there's a bit of speed in this track as well and you kind of just get lured into that high
33:08speed push
33:09and then all of a sudden that rut gets deeper and tighter and you carry too much speed and you
33:13can tip
33:14out the opposite side if you go down that's one way but if you just cross rut and go across
33:19another
33:19three or four that's going to cost you time all the same as well so a Shiro then from second
33:24and
33:24third handing back that second to Pavel Repchak
33:34but a three-point buffer for Slovakia now as they head into the final lap and Kai Oshiro can't afford
33:42afford to relax anyway I mean they're four points off anyway Japan
33:49but Kovar Václav Kovar is closing in on him there's Kahuk
33:55he's in fifth position still the second rider for Slovakia a good low score for the Slovakian team
34:06their other rider Jaroslav Katranak on the 122. he is in 20th position so they're scratching his result
34:16so now they're all hoping there isn't a problem with
34:23Repchak or
34:26Thomas Kohu
34:28one lap board already out to Jeri Havisto
34:31he's 16 seconds clear of this rider here on the 123 from Slovakia
34:40Pavel Repchak back market getting out of the rut there as well look
34:48122 of Katranak here's the third rider he's still out on track
34:54and that's the thing with the B final you continue until the checkered flag because you just never know
34:59what's going on ahead of you a bit loose there on the exit but
35:05I'm sure by now as he will head into his final lap he'll probably get the pit board to say
35:12we're going we're going through
35:17a little bit short on the step down there the sun's still very low and hazy when you head uphill
35:23in the
35:23direction here
35:27come the main race though it will be a little bit higher in the sky
35:32anyway in sector three any moment now Jeri Havisto your race winner for Finland
35:37he's just gone through sector three so that is on the top of the hill
35:42he's working his way through the just to the side of the camera tower there into that right left
35:47and then down the GoPro hill our race leader because he is in the final sector and the number 69
35:56Jeri Havisto
35:58is just moments away from taking the checkered flag here he is the second rider in shot there he is
36:04he hits the line now in white Havisto will win but Pavel Repchak will cross the line any moment now
36:14and Slovakia will go through
36:19as long as his teammate Thomas Kohut stays there in that fifth position
36:25we wait for Kai Oshiro Václav Kovar Oshiro is over the line now Kovar over the line and Thomas Kohut
36:34does go through and Slovakia go through as well with seven points
36:43good news is you made it through the B final the bad news is you had to go to the
36:47B final to get
36:48the A final make a note of the time 11 26 here as they cross the line
36:57and the race will start at 1 10 for the MXGP and MX2 riders
37:06for Slovakia Thomas Kohut and Jarislev Katrinek
37:09who advance to the main event here in Ernaet
37:14in Ernaet
37:20czech republic second japan third finland four norway five ireland fifth
37:27but we're going to go down to the
37:30rider the lead rider from Slovakia Pavel Repchak
37:34he and his teammate Thomas Kohut getting a second and a fifth they take seven points they are a
37:40comfortable win in the end then they win by three points over czech republic and it's Slovakia who will
37:48go through to the main here today
37:59but let's go down to Lisa I think she's certainly with Pavel Repchak she may be with Thomas Kohut as
38:04well two of the Slovaks let's see what they have to say
38:09I'm with Pavel and Thomas congratulations guys team Slovakia go through with seven points
38:14I think that I had a good start maybe fix six position and then make some passes
38:20the track is so difficult for me I'm not used to for these conditions but I think that I that
38:26we
38:27asked him did a great job so I'm super happy that we did it today finally now not much time
38:33to regroup
38:34reset and go again I would like to just say big thanks to our fans our people who bring us
38:40here and
38:40our sponsors and we did with Pavel we are strong this season and hell yeah we did good luck for
38:46the A final
38:50and that's how you look after a 25 minute plus two lap B final the two Slovakians there Pavel Repchak
39:00Pavel Repchak and Thomas Kohut coming home second and fifth for Slovakia they will go through but
39:08they do not have long to get the bikes washed off prepped into the waiting zone out the sighting
39:13lap ahead of the race one today
39:18although to be fair Pavel Repchak the rider who brought them home
39:21he is in the open category so he will go into race two and three he gets a little bit
39:25more breathing
39:34space
39:36see the wind picking up here that's probably a step of breezes that we've had over the course of a
39:41few
39:41days that we've been here of course most of us certainly within our media crew been here since
39:47Wednesday we'll head home tomorrow it's not just a weekend event for us
39:57good choice of liquid refreshment down there
40:06but what an atmosphere we have every year here in Erne
40:11Monster Energy FIA motocross nations never disappoints and nor does the B final
40:16Jerry Havisto wins the race for Finland but Pavel Repchak there in second Thomas Kohut
40:21in fifth they get the lowest score seven points to send Slovakia through to the main races here this
40:28afternoon great riding from Kai Oshiro and Bachelap Kovar as well Peter Otooski had his moments good to
40:34see the French-based Moroccan Saad Soleimani picking up a seventh there of course Morocco
40:39we're not going to qualify here this weekend but good to see him there all the same
40:45the Irish get all three riders inside the top 15 with Dickinson McCormick and Mira but they don't go
40:52through either that caught that score just too high in the end
40:58and Ireland sixth 25 points when the lowest score the winning score was just seven
41:08and that is it the 20 teams are all now qualified for the three races race one will be MXGP
41:18and MX2
41:19race two MX2 and open race three will be open and MXGP
41:26one point for a win two for second irrespective of your class and just like that the lowest score
41:32after the three races will determine who will win the Chamberlain trophy here this weekend
41:39but Slovakia go through to the main event with seven they've had one race on track is it one
41:44race too many for them be interested to see how they do when the going gets tough a little later
41:50on
42:01we've got some action coming up on track not that we're going to be viewing it but the two e
42:05-bikes
42:05that we've got here from Honda and Yamaha Trey Canard Justin Brayton they're going to be riding the
42:10Hondas Ben Townley and Milko Podacek will be riding the Yamahas around here they'll do two laps
42:18so just showcasing them here in the biggest event in the world we will see some of those highlights

42:27race
