Behind the scenes at the Motion Brand shoot, the riding gets rough, the tries pile up, and the final clips only come together after a lot of crashes, adjustments, and late-night effort. Alex Alanko takes you through the full filming process, from landing a cork seven on the spock to battling a feared fakie front flip and dealing with tired legs, hard slams, and a long day that stretches into the night.

The footage gives a real look at BMX and freeride video production, showing how much patience, confidence, and repetition it takes to build a brand edit. When the original setup doesn’t create enough pop, the ramp gets rebuilt, the quarter is made steeper, and the session continues the next day. Along the way, there’s also an unboxing of Motion Brand clothing and a clear sense of why the project matters: progress, style, and moving forward.

This is raw riding, behind-the-scenes filming, and action sports content for fans of BMX, MTB, dirt, street, downhill, and freeride edits. It’s especially relevant if you enjoy rider diaries, trick attempts, ramp building, and the real process behind a polished brand video.

00:08welcome to the behind the scenes video of the motion brand shot I'm gonna show
00:11you how it is like behind the scenes when filming because you only see the
00:15final product often and it's more to it like a lot of tries a lot of doubts and
00:20yeah it's a lot of work to film a whole edit. Marcus is working with the camera
00:24right now and yeah hopefully it's gonna be nice
00:40so we got one clip now it's time to cork seven the Spock I get thoughts like oh
00:46I'm gonna nail it first go and others are like okay I'm not gonna be able to do
00:50it but obviously confidence is key in these I have done thousands of corkis

01:58so it's midnight the filming is going well we have gotten a lot of clips a lot of clips with
02:05which we haven't planned but it's exhausting like i'm completely tired i want to go to bed
02:12but i have a couple of more clips to film
02:22oh i can't believe i'm good
02:26what the fuck i hit
02:31i don't know what i hit or something
02:36i landed straight on my knees and like my shoulder
02:40but it's pretty fine
03:10i hate when you like don't throw the last bar spin
03:13when you don't like do the tricks properly but yeah a bit wonky there at the end
03:18oh that money clip was not a new night looks like

03:32i'm transforming now these cars and planes i'm always boarding
03:35just i torn down in charlotte like i played
03:38high but actually pretty chill. Nice, so it worked. I need to see the clip now.
04:25I'm gonna do the fakie, the front flip really soon and that's gonna be the scariest thing
04:29and I feel like I could do it and I feel like I can do it but it's scary, you
04:37know? We'll
04:38see. Let's go.
05:02Okay, I really wanted to do the fakie from it. It's like 2am in the morning and I'm exhausted.
05:07My mind can't even think. A bit sad actually because I really wanted to do it today. I filmed
05:15the whole video today but yeah, stoked. I got the Corkie on the Spock and some other new tricks
05:23which yeah, I'm really stoked about and Marcus did a really good job with the filming like he's so
05:28patient and so good and I'm also really stoked on the clothing. Keep moving forward, let's go.
05:35So Marcus is starting to ride now, half past two. He has energy.
05:45Or he thinks he has energy.
05:54So it's the second day of shooting. We planned to only film one day but I couldn't do the bangers
06:012am in the morning so we went back today and hopefully today I do it like the fakie front flip
06:08and
06:09some other tricks. But yeah, I'm actually like still feel super scared to do it but I have watched a
06:16lot of videos and it looks so chill and also if you get the right speed and the right pop
06:20you will
06:21come around easy, it seems like. I'm not sure. But yeah, we will find out today.
06:26We will find out today.
06:27We will find out today.
07:01I had no idea what I was doing, I was like okay I'm just gonna throw it now, was I
07:07even
07:07close?
07:07Yes, you were right, we just need to push a little bit
07:11Oh, it's heavy
07:28Oh, what a sweat it was
07:32Did you hit your head?
07:33No, not your head
07:36I thought I had it
07:37I thought I had it too
07:39I thought it was too
07:40It was heavy
07:40Yes, I had it already
07:42I think it should go
07:45My front tire in my head, one slammed on my ass once as well
07:49But I was super close
07:52I put some heating cream on my butt to make it not hurt
07:58Hopefully I can feel the power again and go for it
08:02I really wanna land it for the edit, it would be such a good banger for me
08:08Yes, back at it now
08:46I'm glad I have a back protection
08:48It's so heavy to land like that for like five times
08:52Six
08:52Six
08:53Six
08:54Oh shit
09:01So it's the fourth day of shooting
09:03Yesterday we were here until 10 in the evening
09:05And went back home to come up with the idea to rebuild the ramp
09:11Because of the fronipop I really don't get the pop out from the wall
09:16Because it's pretty mellow actually
09:17Or pretty long
09:18So it's hard to get the speed for the right pop
09:23But yeah, today we're gonna do a rebuild and hopefully I will get it
09:26So the plan is to make the quarter a bit steeper so I get the pop more out
09:31I think we're gonna take those planks there
09:34Put them so it just goes out a bit earlier
09:38And then all the plywood put it up there as well
09:41And Marcus is ready with it
09:44Okay, so we kinda got stuck
09:46We went here early in the morning to fix this one
09:50But we only had this shit screwdriver
09:52And it made like five screws
09:54So Marcus is on his way to the nearest store to buy a new one
10:00But the good news
10:02Is
10:03That it seems like we can get a way steeper quarter pretty easily
10:08While putting the plywood there
10:10We can then get the better pop
10:13Land further down
10:15And then get the rotation around
10:17Hopefully, yes
10:19While we wait for Marcus to get the screwdriver
10:21However, I'm gonna show you some clips of when I'm unboxing the first Motion Brand package
10:26The stuff is sick
10:27And then we're gonna get back to the building here in the background
10:30First package here, let's unbox it
10:32I have actually already picked inside so I know what's in here
10:35But just for fun, let's do it again
10:40Yeah, let's just open it here
10:42I'm really excited about this
10:44I'm gonna ride for the Motion Brand
10:47For the next two years
10:48And I'm super stoked
10:50Lukas Knopp, who is the owner of the brand
10:53Has been my friend for a long time
10:55We have been traveling and competing
10:57Around the world for
10:58Like a long time now
11:00I don't even know how many years, but a lot of years
11:02And I have seen him build up his brand
11:04From scratch basically
11:06And yeah, it's so cool to ride through them
11:09And the products are insane
11:12And also, it's made too
11:15Climb to the top, reach your highest goals
11:18And fulfill your dreams
11:19And everything the brand stands for
11:21I basically stand for
11:23The Motion Brand
11:25Always moving forward
11:26And I think that's really important in life in general
11:29So I'm really stoked about this
11:30Let's see what we got there
11:32Insane jacket
11:32Another insane jacket
11:34Some gloves
11:35So I'm gonna ride the Motion Brand clothing
11:38And also gloves
11:39So I'm still on POC for helmets and pads
11:42And then the Motion Brand will fully kit me out with the clothes
11:47Camel pants, t-shirt, some socks
11:50And this is one I really like
11:52A pink shirt
11:54So stoked!
12:03Are we gonna get it?
12:04Like the funny thing is that
12:06We filmed everything the first night
12:09Expect this front line
12:10So this has been taking 3 sessions
12:13And yeah
12:15Not expected, I thought it was going to be way easier
12:18But when I checked the other videos
12:20Of the guys doing it
12:21They did it on a super steep quarter
12:24Expect from the BMX guys
12:26Because they do it everywhere
12:27But yeah
12:28Let's warm up
12:29Let's do this
12:31I'm pumped
12:31And a bit scared still
12:33But mostly pumped
12:35Let's go
12:43Let's go
12:57Here's one
12:58A true
12:59A true
13:00Step 1
13:00Step 2
13:01Step 2
13:02Step 2
13:02Step 1
13:02Step 2
13:04Step 2
13:05Step 2
13:06You could probably do it on a different spot, it feels so crazy.
13:11It's such a dumb thing for me, I'm not good at small frontiers.
13:35Everything down and gonna do another line there and leave the frontflip for later.
13:40I mean this is the fourth session trying it and the season is about to get started and I need
13:46to get in with preparing for the season.
13:53We just need to close this project and it has been so much fun filming and you're stoked on the
14:01overall process.
14:03It's really nice, but yeah, hope you liked the edit anyway.
14:08We're gonna get done with the last line here.
14:33Okay.
14:34Take care, come on board.
14:35That moment was good, we're gonna be there, all right?
