00:31Remarks have now come out to draw major backlash.
00:35It's a political war of words waiting to erupt.
00:39As we see both sides coming in.
00:42Both sides of the narrative coming in.
00:44CPIM leader and former MLA has also come out to speak on the same.
00:51Let's quickly take a look at the responses so far.
00:59During the day before,
01:05The
01:06In the early days of the
01:21Ungr Imp底
01:43On that note, we have Shibimol Keji joining us on the broadcast with more details on this particular war of
01:49words
01:49that seems to be erupting on the matter.
01:52Shibimol, a very good afternoon to you.
01:54How are you looking at these comments that have come in?
01:56Just take us through the details of either sides of the narratives right now.
02:01Well, Shriya, this statement was made by Nandakumar during an extended CPIM committee.
02:06So, CPIM is organizing a lot of committee meetings in each district post the election result that, you know, caused
02:11them severe setback.
02:13And in one of those meetings, he's represented Ponnani in Malapuram.
02:16Ponnani has been a seat that was held by the CPIM for a very long time, which they lost this
02:20time,
02:21where he says that, you know, as far as Malapuram district is concerned, it's a hotbed.
02:25It's a nest of communalists and fundamentalists.
02:28So, in that case, what can the Communist Party do to address this concern is something that we need to
02:33discuss, is what he says,
02:35which has sparked a major outrage because, you know, Malapuram is a Muslim majority district in Kerala.
02:39And also, it's been the forte of the Indian Union Muslim League.
02:44That is, it has consistently elected IUML MLAs to the Kerala Assembly.
02:48So, this has been seen as a very communally motivated remark that's coming in from the former MLA and CPIM
02:56leader.
02:57The CPIM has not yet officially reacted, but this will raise questions to the CPIM on its stance on secularism.
03:04Because already, Chief Minister VD Satishan has, you know, made a statement that this goes on to show what or
03:11how CPIM is trying to, you know,
03:16CPIM is trying to favor the BJP.
03:18And this is like the CPIM and BJP are two sides of the same coin is what, you know, the
03:24Chief Minister has gone on to say.
03:26So, in that case, CPIM leadership will have to answer on what exactly did their former MLA and leader mean
03:33by this?
03:34Because this means it's targeting the people of the district.
03:37And already, there are multiple reactions on social media with people coming out and saying that,
03:42why is this targeting of one particular district just because it's a minority-dominated one?
03:46Very, very serious allegations and remarks that have been made by this former MLA at this given point.
03:51And yes, like we were also mentioning earlier, that this will end up erupting into a wider debate.
03:58We're still awaiting the response from the Congress on this.
04:01But for now, these are the details.
04:03Shabim all, thank you for putting things into perspective.
04:05On that note, we have more news coming in.
04:06Let's take a look.
