00:05councillor Shree Lekha decides not to quit. Former BJP Shree Lekha has backed down from
00:11her resignation. Shree Lekha is now saying she'll continue as BJP councillor. BJP leadership has
00:16pacified Shree Lekha and Shree Lekha has spoken to the BJP leadership there and now she has
00:21decided to stay. It was on October 3rd that Shree Lekha had decided to quit as councillor,
00:28stating personal reasons but the BJP leadership has now intervened and has averted the Tiruvandarim
00:33crisis. Shree Lekha's decision is after talking with the BJP leaders and now she has withdrawn
00:39her letter of resignation. She's a celebrated IPS officer there who is also part of the corporation
00:46and she had decided to quit but after speaking to the BJP leaders she withdrew her decision to quit
00:52as councillor. This was a decision she took on October 3rd but now we see right the next day
00:57she spoke to the BJP leaders there and now she seems to have decided to stay and continue
01:03as a BJP councillor there in Trivandarim as well. For more on that we have Shree Lekha
01:09joining us. Shree Lekha now we're learning that Shree Lekha has withdrawn her decision to
01:14resign as a BJP councillor especially after carrying out talks with the BJP leaders. So
01:19what happened there?
01:21Well you know if Shree Lekha resigns then the BJP it will be a major setback for the BJP
01:26because they'll need 51 members to prove majority. So if she resigns then they're short on that
01:31and that's why the BJP leadership tried to you know convince her to continue since the time that
01:38she has put a resignation and the BJP leadership have been in talks with her to change her decision
01:43because otherwise it would have been very difficult for the BJP to continue the role. The opposition
01:47would have brought in a no confidence motion also against the BJP. So they will be the you know the
01:53corporation will witness a test to prove majority and that's to avoid the situation. The BJP leadership
01:59were in talks with her and that's why she's decided to now withdraw that resignation and she will
02:03continue as the councillor of the Shasta Mangala board is what we know at this point. In fact you know

02:09was really upset right from the beginning it was because she has been a DGP before she is she's the
02:14first woman IPS officer from Kerala. So somebody was very influential joined the BJP on the promise
02:19that she will be made mayor if she if the BJP comes into power in the BGP and the Thirondana
02:24Corporation.
02:25So they came to power but she was not provided the mayor post and that's why the decision has now
02:29come
02:30that's why she took this decision to step down so she said that it was a personal it was due

02:35reasons. Now things look sorted for BJP and they can DTC as she will continue as the councillor.
